I have a HTC hero on the orange network. I recently applied the orange firmware update from HTC. After upgrading, I can't find an application (bootrol) in the market, though I previously installed it from the market.

I am developping (for my company) an app included on a project that will have 2 versions:
- 1st simple version to download using a OTA server, clients accesss to an URL to download.
- 2nd version more complex to be published on the Market.
The question here is that the process to publish on the Android Market is under bureaucratic internal process and it takes a long time, so the idea do reduce the time to market is to provide an OTA version.
There is any possibility for users that download application via OTA to upgrade the application for version published later on the Market? (Both Application will be signed with the same key).
Is anyone using this new app?

I think only for rooted phones so far? Anyway I can't find it on the normal market app.
It seems as there is no way to delete previous searches in the app market. Also does any one know the name of the app that allows u 2 video chat with someone I thought it was called tango but that doesn't seem to be it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI uploaded an upgrade to my application and opened it again to see if everything is correct or not. I was surprised to see 8 screen shots instead of 2. I deleted 6 images and save it. but when ever I reopen I see 8 images. When I tried to download updated version of my app on my device thorough Android Market, it kept crashing. Did any one else faced same problem? version of the last upgrade is 4.

Raging Thunder game Theres a pt.2 but aso not available. More icons paid Latest swype. to name a few. is there anyone else that has this prob? I emailed an app dev, about this issue and he replied "for some reason your phone doesnt allow you to list copy protected apps after updating." then suggested i contact market/google support. i went to the link and no email. just a link to FAQ. Maybe this supposed 2.1 official from htc leak isnt the %100 complete version. If so oh well, there would be a rom updated for that one as well if thats the case. I am pretty satisfied w/ the currrent build. I think its great.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have updated my X10 mini to Android 2.1.Every thing seems working fine except the Android Market app.I can search, and browse Android Market.But I am failing to download ANY app from the Market.The download icon does appear; but after a while it says "download paused".I searched through different forums and found that one very common suggestion is to boot the phone by pressing "Power" and "Home" key.No luck by booting either. I can find them in the market, but when I try to use my phone to download, it can not find them. Note: I used Astro to back up most of my apps on the phone, these couldn't be backed up since they were marked private. And they didn't display in my downloads either after the upgrade. Digital Clock Widget: Silent Time: If I use my friends phone (same version prior to my upgrade), no problem finding these apps. Suggestions? I've successfully published my first version on the android market using my keystore But now i have a problem when i want to upgrade my application, here the error :
The apk must be signed with at least one certificate in common with the previous version.
But i'm using the exact same keystore.
I am developing a few mobile apps for different platforms including Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Android and Symbian S60.I want my mobile apps to have the capability of checking for updates before starting and in case a new version is available, prompt the user to upgrade. Moreover in certain cases (like security patches), the user must be forced to update or the app won't work.Surely I can cook some code to achieve the task but I was wondering if there are already existing framework to serve the purpose so that I don't have to re-invent the wheel and test all over?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUnless I'm crazy I remember being able to create custom field labels for the phone and email info in the original people app (all contacts are Google type) on my Incredible. If I created them on my phone; they showed up in my Gmail contacts. If I created them in Gmail contacts; they showed up on phone.
Now all I see on the people app label options are the standard ones with no option to edit/create a cutom as there was before. Is this the case after 2.2? If so I'd rather have 2.1 back. I loved that feature! Anyone else see this on their DINC?

On the link provided by the 3 website the Rom upgrade available is ROM version 2.73.405.5 but the one on my phone is 2.73.771.62. Now I'm assuming that the bigger the number, the more recent the software. Am I right with this and if so, am I correct in thinking I don't need to upgrade the ROM?

View 5 Replies View Relatedso I took the plunge and threw SenseHero 2.2 on my HERO.As with many others I was curious as to why i should upgrade. Even now im still trying to find new things to do with 2.1 that i couldnt do before. I thought why have a thread that people can post new things about 2.1 ROMs so that fence sitters can have a decision. So put up the apps/widgets etc that are 2.1 only and why they are so great. Also remember to state if it is ROM dependant (Villain/SenseHero etc)I am on SenseHero 2.2 the pinch zoom in home screen that shows an overview of all your 7 screens is wonderful. It makes getting to the end screens so much quicker, and it looks super flashy.At first i didnt like the theme but now i really quite like it.Live Wallpapers & 3D gallery they are pretty nifty, however on my device were not so smooth so I uninstalled as it is really just eye candy and does not add to the use of the phone. Much the same with 3d gallery, i had a few minor problems but was happy with the original gallery so switched back. Your experience with these may differ though so they are worth a look.Bluetooth file transfer is working? Or so i have heard, i havn't tested yet though Google Goggles, Although 1.6 is required, most people are on 1.5 roms. It is a really cool app, works great when wanting an online price as opposed to a store price. Ive used it to find some info on books for uni etc. It stores your history so you can recall everything you have searched.
AOSP Keyboard, I got quite used to the HTC keyboard but once i swapper it for this there was no going back. Much quiker than HTC keyboard and a lot easier to type. Though i do miss the long press for symbols, i can live without them.As for apps and widgets, so far im not too sure. I hope some others can suggest some.
On Saturday the 3rd i got a htc hero from t-mobile on contract, since then a ROM has been released on the phone the build number is 1.76 110.6 146733 CL47214release keys. the question is do i need to upgrade the ROM on it?

It's a G-Sensor calibration tool so nothing exciting but I wasn't expecting anything ever again after getting 2.1!

Took about five minutes for the device to fully reboot into the phone after the progress bar reached the end so don't be tempted to turn it off during this process.

I recently learnt of this update, but having real trouble installing it. I sync Hero to HTC, follow instructions, get half way through to point where blue bar says it's erased 11% of contacts...and every single time I get error 171: USB connection error. The phone or computer keeps dropping the connection; anyone got any ideas why this might be happening and how to solve it?

Was wondering if it was worth upgrading?I'm happy with the way the phone is, so unless there's a serious improvement I probably won't bother.
My build number says 2.73.405.5 MCR2.2c.On another note, if I did upgrade, would it put the phone back to factory standard (i.e would I lose all my customisation, apps, etc)?
