View 25 RepliesI installed the lastest version of swype( did not have anything installed on this ROM).I saw the other thread was locked so I'm starting a new one I guess. Everything installed fine, but nothing happens when I swype. Manually typing works but when I swype it just shows the line makes a noise and nothing happens.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhat is the newest version of swype? I have 2.1 rooted and my old swype wouldnt even open so I was wondering if there is a different version and if someone could please post the apk.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need the newest version of the market apk, mine has been saying "server error" for a while so I deleted it and now I cant get it back.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOkay so I had a problem with an app, it would never download and stay at the installing progress bar for days. I looked up the solution online and they told me to go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Market>Uninstall Updates. I did that and now I have the old version on the Market, so I don't have automatic updating and there is no "Update All" button, so I can't do that either. I tried rebooting my phone, no luck. Unrooting and rebooting, still no luck. How can I update back to the newest version?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi just discovered that in the ROM manager app you can update your clockworkmod recovery version, i updated to v2.5.0.1 and when i boot into recovery mode it looks completely different now, its a different color green, its got different options, and instead of pressing home as the ok you have to scroll down past like 7 no's to get to yes. is it supposed to be like this and should i always keep it updated? is there anything else i should always check updates for? im running froyo nightlys on a (sprint) cdma htc hero with google

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cant download the newest 2.1 v2 off the megaupload site due to work restrictions is there another site I can get this off of?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if any of you have tried to downgrade from the newest 2.1 one leak that came out march 24 or 25. Also if putting a leaked software on the eris voids the warranty?
View 16 Replies View RelatedI really, really, really like this ROM and I have looked at four different ones. The one thing I noticed is that the automatic brightness doesnt seem to work. Or at least, when it's dark, the phone's brightness which is too low, never changes.Am I supposed to add something else to the phone? I wiped factory and dalvick. I have v30 of Froyos.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI added Handcent, which rocks. But now in my notification bar there are two text notifications--one from Handcent and one from the native SMS app. So my question is: Is there a way to keep both SMS apps from showing up in the notification bar? Can I delete the native SMS application?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I add a new person to contacts, multiple duplicate entries get created. I've seen 2 to 3 entries for a new contact, and this has happened roughly 3 times since I got my phone a month or so ago. What's up?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSomeone posted this yesterday and I had not seen it before. Check it out, I just did it.

When I add events on the phone through the native app it syncs as an invitation in the desktop version. Is it possible to get it to create actual events instead of inviting myself to my homework or doctor's appointment?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently switched gmail accounts. I was able to reconfigure the stock mail app fine. The gmail app took some persuasion but eventually cooperated. The only problem is now all my contacts that were saved in my old gmail acct need to be transferred to my new one. Not a big deal (only have 10 because I lost my phone, reason why I have an Eris). However, my brother called. Since I lost him from my contacts, I used the recent calls window to add him. Hit Save. If I go to People, he isnt there. Retried it 3 times. I figure I can just re add him through gmail on my PC and sync it, but that's inconvenient and I wanna know: why isn't this working?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have google voice and use it for every phone call I make. I heard that there were issues with several gvoice updates, so I haven't updated google voice since 0.2.8 and it is working just fine- every call connects, no problems. Is it worth updating to the newest version of google voice with push? For those of you with 2.1 on your Eris- does google voice work for you?
View 12 Replies View RelatedAnybody have a complete guide to rooting official 2.1 eris and then flashing custom ROM ? I got this Eris from ebay, anyway I can restore it to default official ROM if it is rooted and then go through the whole process ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedJust a little heads up out there for people like me who flash roms ten times a day. If you haven't already experienced this issue, you are likely to come across it in the future.
It is probably a good idea to make a backup of the contents of your sd card to keep when flashing from an a2sd enable rom to a non a2sd enabled rom. If your partitioned for a2sd and flash a non a2sd rom it will hold you phone at the boot screen or send you into an endless boot cycle.
I had to take everything off my sd card, re format the card, then flash the rom before I could load everthing back onto the card.
I may be a total noob, and for all you smart people this is probably a no brainer. But if I can keep anyone else from having this headache I thought it best to post it.
Now that I'm rooted, I'm anxious to try out some custom ROMs, but too impatient for Eris-specific ones to be released. Do ya'll think ROMs made for the Hero will work fine on the Eris?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there ever going to be a new rom? Seems kilter things are dying down.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSeen the phone only root method today and I'm getting my second refurb tuesday. I want to root it but want a rom with overclocking. Does anyone know what good/stable roms have this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen android 2.2 is released into the wild, will we be able to get ROMs built for the Eris, or will we have to hope that they leak something. Also, thanks you devs for the great work you have put in. I love my Eris now more than ever.
View 3 Replies View RelatedROM discussions keep popping up in the root threads and is getting difficult to weed through for info. I can see what kind of ROMs are available, but to be honest, I'd really like to hear what people who are using various ones think of them as far as what works and what doesn't work and I'm sure new rooters would find this usefull as well when deciding.
I am currently using Plain Jane and although I like the Sense UI and most everything seems to work ok, I'm finding that I'm not totally happy with it. Little quirks like Facebook not populating my address book, and the font gets a tad hard to read with alot of text.
I don't think it supports a2sd, but I'm not 100% positive on that.
So what is everyone else using and what do you think of it as far as what works and what doesn't work in it.
The one thing I just couldn't get to work was Navigation in Froyo ROMs. It would always get stuck at "Searching for GPS." Well on xda, a fellow member told me to flash the new CFS kernal from Conap ) So this is what I did to finally get the Navigation to work!
1. Reboot into recovery and make a Nandroid backup just in case.
2. Wipe Dalvik cache
3. Flash new CFS kernal [GPL]2.6.29.6 CFS Kernel 9/4/10 - xda-developers(There is also a BFS kernal which is only if you want high benchmarks, CFS is for overall stability)
4. Once rebooted, clear the data of Maps in Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
5. Open up Maps and put in directions to an address, then click Navigate.
6. Once Navigation is up and running, it will get stuck at "Searching for GPS." Make a sandwich, wash dishes, etc.
7. Sooner or later it will get pass the "Searching for GPS" stage. (It took 15 minutes for me)
8. Navigation should be working instantly now, back out of Navigation, try a new address, and Navigation should instantly work without having to go through "Searching for GPS."
Im new to root, just did it a few days ago using root for dummies so i'm running plain jane. I would like to switch to white widow. My question is, how do i do it? Do i just drop it on to the sd root then run it from recovery? or do i have to wipe or delete something first?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMaybe I am not getting it. but there is no app market in the Droid Does 1.1 ROM. so how do I get apps?
Also. it is not letting me sync my contacts and other things into my phone.
Are there any compatible Custom Roms for the eris and do you believe that a CDMA Hero Rom (Such as fresh 1.1) will work on our Eris?
