View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just rooted and Villian 2.1ified my Orange Hero. Now I swear there was an easy way to link contacts to their fb profiles, but now I can only find a way to manually do it one contact at a time. With alot of contacts, this could take somewhere between three to four years.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen it comes to overclocking is it strictly a hardware thing with these phones? I see a lot of threads where people are clocked at 768 or up to 806 with no issues. I can't go over 710 without issues. Even at 729 I start to get random force closes and at 748 it completely craps out. I'm fine with 710 if that is how far I can go, but I was wondering if this is a normal thing? I know some hardware is better than others, I am a hardware technician, but that much better?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI'm an Incredible user, but my girlfriend has an Eris. I'm tired of hearing her bitch about the speed of the phone, and how it occasionally locks up on her, so (now that the easy root method for leaker's is out) I'm about to root her phone and install a custom ROM. Now, I have a few questions for you folks since I'm not familiar with the Eris community at all (and I have some time constraints since she needs her phone back).
1. I'm looking for a ROM recommendation. What I'm looking for is something extremely stable and fast. I don't need any bells/whistles. She doesn't use tethering, at all but it must have GPS/Camera/Blue tooth/MMS working. Don't really care if it has Sense, but if there is something fast/stable WITH sense, that would not be a bad thing. Most important things are speed and bug-free (or damn close). Froyo would be nice (obviously).
2. I am unfamiliar with overclocking. I come from a phone where you overclock by installing a hydra kernel, so I don't know how this works on the Eris. It sounds like I will have to manually set up overclocking in Set CPU, and I'm not familiar with the application. If anyone can give me some tips on how to do this, or recommended settings that would be AWESOME. One thing to keep in mind is that this is not my phone, so I won't have time to tinker with trial and error (in other words I won't be able to start testing at 850mhz and work my way down until it's stable).I know this is a lot to ask, but I'm hoping some of you guys will be able to help me out given the circumstances. Thanks in advance.
Just rooted, was much easier than I thought. Having issues with SetCPU. I've paid and installed the app but it's read only. There's a button to run disable perflock, which was recommended for HTC users, though the things runsa dn comes back that I don't need to disable perflock.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have just got the new Samsung Galaxy S phone, which after using Nokia N97 is a brilliant phone. My main issue is that it doesn't have standard phone profiles yet the function manual I downloaded from the Samsung site clearly says it does? Any ideas? Not a major issue but I guess I just got used to having profiles. Secondly, is there a way to sort the photos in the gallery into different folders? For example in months or tags?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHey guys, I previously posted this (i have now added something extra to this one) on another thread, it took me about 20 minutes to write, surpassing by far any the maximum time I ever spent on one single forum post in the past lmao.It was originally a response to someone who wanted to activate gps remotely if they lost their phone in order to use 'lookout' and then deactivate it afterwards to save battery. I though I'd make it its own thread since it took me ages to write, and it can effectively replace several features of the 'lookout' security app.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWas wondering what you guys were able to overclock your Evos to. Mine seems to freeze up and reboot if I overclock it past 113600. I've been told this is just what my Evo can handle I guess?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed a new Kernel on my Samsung Galaxy S plus. Its on CyanogenMod 10.1. I overclocked the default 1.4 GHz processor to 1.8 GHz. Mistakenly i set the options on the app as set on boot. Now after booting its freezing up. I can boot in Recovery mode. how to push the stock kernel file to the SD card?I don't have any backup ROMs or kernels on the phone. Neither is the Debugging mode on.I don't want to do a factory reset now. Using ADB i tried the push option
K:ADB>adb.exe push Stock_Kernel.zip /sdcard/
this also showed that the file was pushed
1877 KB/s (3665845 bytes in 1.906s)
but there is no zip file on the sdcard
Is there anything i can do with Eclipse ?
My end call button is getting worn out. Anyone know of an app, or any way to either use the start call, or trackball button turn on the phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDo I need to install a new ROM after rooting to make my Eris run faster? Or will taking out the programs I don't use make it faster without a new ROM?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to use my computer to make calls through my Eris? I want to dial from my computer, speak through my computer's microphone and hear the other person through my computer's speakers. I don't want to use VOIP though, I just want a program that will sync those functions with my phone. I ultimately would like to be able to dock my phone and not have to touch it until I want to unplug it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedBefore I root I was wondering; is there any way to make free phone calls via WiFi or anything after the eris is rooted?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the oclf, rooted and its all working nicely. Tested on quadrant and got this big sexy bar right at the top. Phone seems a little faster for sure. But if u use quadrant advanced u can see that CPU speed isn't really changing much if at all. Its i/o that is increasing and giving us these huge scores. Whatever that is. So are there further steps I can take to speed up my phone.
Is oclf actually overclocking my phone or just giving it another file system which speeds up processing slightly? I also use launcherpro which seems to help a bit for home screen navigating and such. But I am looking for a real noticeable boost. I know some of the ROMs out there are pretty fast as well but I am a little reluctant to remodel my phone much more with froyo supposedly on the horizon.
What bad affects can overclocking have on my phone. Because I mean if the processor is at 550 and out runs at 800 cant that do bad things to it.

View 37 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted to froyo and I installed the kernal to overclock between 250 and 12500. I use setcpu and even with it set at 12500, the phone will still act slow sometimes. For example, with a live wallpaper on, if I click to look at my apps, it stutters. If I take the live wallpaper off, its fine.
