May 19, 2010I have finally figured out how to get the Vanilla MMS app ported for us 2.1 leakers that can't root. Thanks to jonasl over at XDA for helping me figure this out. Took some time.Problems that I have with it:Every time someone sends you a message, it sends 2. It only notifies you of one, but two show in the thread. I'm trying to fix it.That's it so far, let me know of any you come across and I'll see what I can do.

Aug 11, 2010So I got xtrROM 3.1 Beta and I love everything about it except the Vanilla Messaging app... I like it way better than the sense one... So is there anyway I can get it onto my phone without having to flash a different one? I know there was a port to of it for non root phones but supposedly it was having a bug that would make each message appear twice... so I don't want to deal with that.

Jul 8, 2010OK so if you use POP3 on several computers to get gmail, you may be familiar with this. Basically it makes it so every client gets your email. Anyhow heres my problem, freakin PoS default android email will not recognize it as a correct username. Is anyone familiar with this? Know a better email client than the default (and don't suggest K-9 please, I'm currently using it and hate it). I wish someone would get the HTC mail app to work on vanilla.

May 31, 2010My husband just rooted my phone for me and I'm looking for a ROM that has the vanilla (I think that's what it's called) dialer. One of my main motivations for going root was to get rid of the awful HTC dialer. I know there are few ROMs out there that use DialerOne as a default but I'm looking for something more like the Moto Droid or the other vanilla ROMs I've seen. A few people are running WhiteWidow ROM but it looks like that one's been taken down for now.

I was able to apply the rotary one here [THEME] Rotary Style Lockscreen for EE 3.0 or CE 1.1 [UPDATED: 06/08/2010] - xda-developers
However, I can't seem to change it to the first one, which is the one I really like. Metamorph goes through and applies the XML and apk, reboots, but always comes back to the rotary one.
HTC Eris :: Apps2sd Tainted Vanilla V1.4?
Jul 19, 2010I'm new to this site although i've used it plenty of times for help with my eris. (for which i thank everyone) i've been looking into rooting and custom roms and whatnot for a while and last thursday i rooted and add the tainted vanilla v1.4 custom ROM and i love it. the wi-fi tethering and overclocking is so awesome. but i was wondering if my new rom automatically saves apps to the sd or if i have to enable this.

HTC Eris :: Vanilla Dialer - Menu Settings Has Been Changed?
Aug 15, 2010I've been playing around with a few different ROMs to find the one that's the most stable for me, but something weird has happened. Most of the ROMs I like the best have the vanilla dialer which I love but the look of the dialer has changed and I'm not sure why.
At one point the dialer had the END, SPKR, MUTE etc., on the call screen so if you pulled the phone away from your ear you could see those buttons. Now when I'm on a call I have a little tab that I have to pull up to access the number pad and I have to hit MENU to bring up the END, SPKR and MUTE settings. I really want to go back to the way it was before. This has happened on several ROMs.

Sep 8, 2010I am rooted, can't remember what version. Did that finally just a month ago after getting fed up with the dialer lag.
Dialer lag is happening again, but that's not the purpose of the thread.
For the past few days, when I try to open a browser, it closes. I was using Dolphin HD, thought it was a bug with that app, so downloaded regular Dolphin. Same deal, so tried Skyfox then Opera and the stock browser. They all keep closing.
Is there anything I can do or should I just call it quits and get the Incredible?

Feb 20, 2010I have a question for any out there in Eris-land. I have the stock browser cache set to the 6mb max that the app settings allows--but it sometimes ends up larger than that when I go to clear it in the Application settings. How is that so? Also, how exactly does the cache work? Does it store visited pages then keep adding to it until it's at the max storage? Do older cached pages get bumped for newer ones? Does the browser get sluggish if the cache is full? (I haven't noticed any issues myself.) Finally, if I set the max cache setting for less than the 6mb cap, (say, 3mb), will that make the browser less efficient at loading pages? I'm curious since the stock browser doesn't use SD card for storage and cuts into the main phone memory.

I use it primarily for a forum such as this and it freezes up all the time. I've tried clearing the cache and cookies and nothing seems to help. Not sure if I should go with another browser but I downloaded the dolphin one and that did the same thing. Anyone have a clue? Im not pc smart so please talk "dumb" to me if you have any clues!
