HTC Eris : Need Apps To Unlock Screen
Oct 30, 2010I see some people with different options and things on their lock screens. What apps or mods are required to do this?

View 2 RepliesI just received my Eris 2.1 update today.I was hoping to get the new unlock screen. I don't like how the slide down to unlock takes up a good chunk of screen. Wasn't this supposed to change with the update to the new one where you have the circular slide? I tried doing a search on this but all i kept finding were apps to download to replace this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to unlock my phone so I can turn off the stream I am listening to in the app StreamFurious Pro but I can not. When I tap the red button right of the track ball, the lock screen comes up, but then when I swipe down it only slides part of the way and then starts to shimmy or bounce up and down. I can see the browser window I last had open below it, but I cant get to anything because the lock won't slide all the way down. Even when that grey bar does get all the way gone, it bounces back a second later.
The menu button does not respond. If I hit the red button again to send it to sleep, it does. Letting it sit does not help. When I hit the red button again, it either shows the grey bar you grab still bouncing, or the lock screen again, but the same thing then happens. I have had streamFurious Pro for awhile and never had this issue. I have not added any new apps since yesterday AM and used my phone just fine between then and now.
MY NEPHEW HAS FORGOTTEN HIS USER NAMED AND PASSWORD !! He can't unlock the screen now (he shouldn't have let his baby brother play with it I guess- now the screen is LOCKED)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI read that if you forget your pattern for the unlock screen you're supposed to hit the Forgot Pattern button but I don't have one! I made a really simple pattern so I won't forget it but still, that's a pretty huge feature so I don't need to do a hard reset if anything happens. Does anyone else have this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a very happy KaosFroyo 37 user, but I have some misc questions.(sorry, this item is a sort of double-post) Do any of these lockscreen widgets work with Froyo? When I was running Android 1.5 and 2.1, I would keep my screen pattern-locked most of the time, since it lives in my pants' pocket and I want to avoid it activating accidentally. Then when I get into the car and place my phone in a cup holder, I would unlock the phone once and click a widget which would leave it unlocked (for easy access to GPS, etc.) for the duration of my ride, when I would lock the phone again and put it back in my pocket. Now with Android 2.2 I can't do this with the lock pattern, because apparently the security mechanisms don't permit it; one must re-enter the lock pattern several times, which is very time-consuming. Is there another approach for 2.2 users? I don't need very strong security, just want to avoid accidental phone calls and other accidental activations.
While (Android's) Manage Applications worked for me initially, now it only works the first time after a reboot. I.e., I can run it once, but on any subsequent attempts it will hang while attempting to populate its app list. As workaround I purchased Quick App Clean Cache, which is nice in its own right, but it would still be nicer not to have this problem. Also I'm not 100% convinced that Quick App Clean Cache is always giving me the complete set of options for an app, e.g. to move it to an SD card. Have others encountered this problem? I could probably generate a logcat for debugging purposes.
Most apps will let you move them to the SD card in KaosFroyo 37, even though I haven't checked the CyanogenMod option to permit these.I guess that there are a few more apps which might copy more completely to the SD card if I used this option. Can anyone shed any light on this option and whether it's saves any memory, and whether it induces any instability?I'm always careful not to copy widgets to the SD card.Battery life is a continued mystery; clearly much worse than before I rooted. Apparently the CPU tweaker isn't recommended (I guess it uses too much battery life trying to figure out whether it needs to adjust the CPU speed), and the battery life tweaker on the XDA forum described doesn't provide a very clear strategy. What do folks recommend? [ Correction: I had read a pretty incoherent writeup somewhere on XDA, but now see Collin_ph Battery Tweak RC1 for Cyanogen / Darch Froyo roms (possibly others) - xda-developers which is well-written. I will try this approach, but welcome your experiences.
I was wondering, is there a way to have the screen come on and/or have the phone unlock when you get a text message or email notification?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there is a clock widget that looks exactly like the clock on the standard Android unlock screen? (the screen with the sliding tabs)
I love the look of that clock and I'd like to have it on my home screen
I am relatively new to posting here, but have been reading the posts here for quite some time. Thanks for the great info that you all provide.
I have 2 questions about the All Programs screen ......
Is there a way to re-arrange the order of the way the apps are arranged on this page ? If so, how?
Secondly, how can I remove apps off of the All Programs screen ? I know that apps that I download from The Market will disappear once they have been 'uninstalled', but what about anything else such as "Amazon MP3", "Visual Voicemail", "Stocks", etc. ?
These are things (apps listed above ) I have NO interest in, but they crowd up my All Programs screen and force me to do a lot more scrolling (due to not being able to re-arrange my most used apps on this page, SO FAR).
I'm having an issue with my phone. Most of the time my lock screen is focused on screen 4 (I use 5 screens) instead of on whatever screen I go to when unlocked. Does anybody else have this problem? I'm using Launcherpro if that makes a difference.
View 2 Replies View Related1st time poster long time lurker. I have done a search on Google trying to find a solution or at least a reason as to why my phone is behaving this way. Search produces nothing. This week my phone started behaving strange. I will get a call, but the caller ID no longer displays. Suddenly the screen starts to flash and I have to unlock the screen in order to see who is calling. By the time the screen is unlocked the person has already hung up. I have not done anything (add new programs) in the last 2 weeks and I am not sure why this is happening.
View 15 Replies View Relatedwhen i take my phone out of my pocket and unlock it the screen will be in landscape mode and it usually will take a good 5 to 10 seconds for it to go back to normal.. i usually have to shake the phone for it to even respond..
has anyone had this problem? know of any quick fixes for it?
Ii haven't made any big changes to my Desire and all was working well. suddenly a couple of days ago i noticed that things slowed down significantly.
exmples: when drawing the unlock screen, there is a big lag till the home screen comes up huge lag in opening programmes or menus
so, the only app i recently installed was the BA (british airways) android app. could this have affected the whole phone?
what steps can i take to check what might be wrong?looking at the SPARE PARTS app, i can see that CPU usage shows a huge bar for "init".i don't know if this is a normal process? anyone got info on this? might have nothing to do with my phone lagging of course.
Does anyone else have this problem? After I search the market for apps and then return to my home screen, or any other screen, some text will remain on the bottom of the screen. It's basically the various word suggestions from my previous search. Note, I am using Better Keyboard. Not sure if this is a BK bug or not.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIma new to the android world, I had a iphone and hated it. Now I have a samsung captivate and I love it. I herd of the side app loader wonder machine but I cant find the driver for my phone when I hook it up to my computer. Where can I download the driver for my phone and get the sideloader to work on my phone.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI found this app that do what I need, however I wonder if there are any free apps that do this? I'm tired of the phone constantly changing orientation when I use it while walking around.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know this isn't really a new topic, but search came up empty and auto search as I posted this thread was not helpful. Nothing in 2 months, and nothing for Dinc.
So I'm looking to change some of the default behavior for lock/unlock. I've seen a few peoples lock screens on other threads but haven't quite figured out what they are using.
I'm coming from BB Pearl where I had to hit "* phone" to lock and unlock and it was quick and easy. I like the pattern recognition on the Dinc for the extra security but I probably don't need it, especially until my name and alternate phone number show up on the lock screen so someone can return it to me if they find it. Perhaps I'll but my business card inside the new silicone case?
Anyhow, anyone know of a good lock/unlock app that changes behavior or modifies the lock screen in a way they thought was much better than default?
I've noticed when I unlock the phone sometimes it flickers for just a second almost as if the autobrightness is adjusting abruptly, does anyone else have this sometimes? This only happens when I unlock I think and 10% of the time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was a way to have the N1 lock screen instead of the standard desire's one. I really wan't that mute and unmute feature at the tip of my finger.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a butter-smooth UI addict, and i have a problem on my I9001. Every rom i flash, even stock, my phone lags after unlocking the screen.So. I unlock the phone via lockscreen, and my fps drops below 20. I swipe left-right for about 3 times and the phone works perfect.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I've been using Aloysius Snow ROM (which I like very much) - and one of the things I like is that to unlock the screen I have to swipe from left to right (and, even better, if I swipe the other direction, I can toggle sound off and sound on - fast way to mute/unmute!). I was thinking of trying a different ROM, just for the heck of it, but I very much do not want to go with a ROM that requires a top to bottom unlock swipe.
The question, therefore, is - which direction does which ROM require for unlocking?
I finally was able to unlock my Cliq from the T-mobile network to the At&t network, and I can now make calls and text, but all of the sudden I can no longer access the market for apps. It keeps telling me that my password is invalid (which I am 100% sure it is not). Also, every few minutes, I am recieving a text that says "122 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. 0605040710000041637469766174653A64743D36", but I haven't even sent any text messages.. It started doing that right after I sucessfully unlocked the phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm installing Android in a mobile without touch screen. I wonder if is there a way of turn of the screen lock, or unlock it some other way then slide the screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo here is the story basically. This is technically my third droid. The first one had something wrong with the screen where it wouldn't do anything I wanted. For instance...if I tried to press any of the keys on the right side of the screen, they wouldn't respond. Whatever...got the phone replaced in-store. Second phone comes, the slide is VERY loose. The screen actually had about a millimeter and a half on the left side of the screen that it would give when pressed. It made a very loud tap sound when pushed. OK, called Verizon tech support, they send me a DROID 2. I'm thinking SWEET. Not really... Not even 4 days into owning the thing, the screen randomly shuts off and won't come back on without a battery pull, sometimes 2 battery pulls. Over the past few days this has happened multiple times, each more frustrating than the last. I'm getting irritated with mototola. I just called Verizon and they are sending out yet another device. I'm getting annoyed with this whole thing. I shouldn't have to call tech support every other week it seems. Does anyone have a fix for this problem? I've done a factory reset, among other things. I have my old 16gb card from my D1 in there...could that do it? If anyone has had this problem and found a fix for it let me know. I also have the Verizon extended battery..could that be doing it? Please...any help would be appreciated. I'm rooted if that helps at all.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am sorry if this has already been a topic, I did a search and couldn't find anything. Is is just my D2 or does everyone's unlock screen lag? When I unlock it, the bar stays across the screen for a good 5+ seconds before it unlocks and my home screen shows up. Just wondering, my D1 was fast and didn't lag at all.
View 43 Replies View Related1) Is there way to find if the Android "unlock pattern screen" is ON/ OFF thru programming? My Aim is to send some messages from my application to a server thru network only when the user had unlocked this password kind of screen (device).
2) Is there any Android/Java class to generically find (query) if certain application window is currently on top like question 1? In other words, any Windows manager class to get some info/enumerate windows that are currently being displayed/being in use.
Is there any way to get the unlock screen shown here in this video on the droid x?
View 20 Replies View RelatedMy application is launched on car docking event, i want to wake up phone (done by system) and unlock screen when i plug my device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI ran a search and could not find answers to these But does anyone know if it's possible to:
1) Add an extra homescreen? I could use more than the stock 7.
2) Change the button that wakes the screen up and brings you to the screen unlock mechanism. Right now i have to press the power button and i'd rather it be one of the face buttons that does this hard to change iphone muscle memory.
Has anyone been able to disable the screen in which you have to swipe down to unlock the phone? I'd like to use just the unlock pattern option like on the Moto Droid, but I haven't been able to get rid of the swiping screen altogether.
