Maybe I missed this and if I did, can you please point me to the right link but just rooted and flashed to the latest ROM and wanted to know how to add the N1 boot animation instead of what is has now.

It seems to work whether I put bootanimation.zip in /data/local or /system/media no problem... but the one thing I can't figure out is how to get a sound to play. I've tried every combination I can think of... boot.mp3 in the zip file, android_audio.mp3 in the zip file... tried the zip without the mp3, just placing the mp3 in the same directory as the zip (and also tried both names that way, in both directories stated above). Is there something I'm supposed to add to the desc.txt file? What am I missing? The only info I can find for the Eris is just "put a boot.mp3 in the zip file" which is just not working...

Please excuse me if this is a stupid thread but I just spent an hour making an animated gif, used sdk to push it to my /system/media/bootscreen folder and rename it boot.gif.

As you can see in the video below, it flashes every time it starts a new folder (part0 and part1) and continuously flashes when it repeats part1. It is not only this boot animation though as I have tried others and they are doing the same thing. If someone could help me with this, EDIT: I have reset to factory settings and tried again to no avail. I don't know what the problem is.

I have seen threads about how to change the boot logo/animation, but no one knows how to remove the animation entirely. I would like the verbose boot to display on start up if possible. It now is on my phone but after it runs my screen goes green for awhile as i frantically press buttons to get it back. I tried uninstalling the app but that didn't get my original animation backk. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the VanillaDroid ROM installed on 2.1 v2. My phone is rooted. But I don't like the boot animation that came with the ROM, so I decided to change it. In every tutorial I've seen, people mention a "bootanimation.zip". However, I can't find it anywhere on the phone. But I did find the "bootscreen" folder in "/system/media/" with the bootup animations in it. I assumed that if I swap out the animations for the new ones, it would work (reasonable enough right?). Not really. Apparently, I deleted everything in the bootscreen folder, but when I try copying stuff into it from the memory card, it can't find any directory on the memory card through the "adb shell" stuff.
I know the folder with the bootscreen animations and stuff exists on the memory card, but apparently the shell commands say it doesn't exist. So now my phone boots up with no animation or sound. Its nice to have a quiet boot, and it does seem to start up a little faster, but I want a boot screen again. I know if I reflashed the ROM, it would come back (or at least should). But I don't want to have to reset and redownload all my apps and stuff, especially since I have just got everything the way I want. Is there anyway to get the bootup animations back without reflashing? And if I would reflash, since its the same ROM, would I need to do a factory reset?
Enter the following code into notepad and save as BootAnimation.BAT(I would save this to the desktop.)CHANGE THE 3RD LINE AS NEEDED FOR WHERE YOUR ANDROID SDK IS LOCATED
View 4 Replies View RelatedI rooted recently with the evil eris 4.0 running, and used this app Boot Animation Changer and it worked alright but I think I might of did a backup of one of the animations and overwritten over the stock, so stock isn't there. How can I get the stock back?I dont know what to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince people are starting to make their own boot animations now, and this is something that everyone (not just root) can do to customize their Eris I thought it'd be helpful to start sharing them in one place. Also, since the name of the animation must be "bootanimation.zip" I have changed the names to avoid confusion when downloading, but it will have to be changed back before installing.
Installing the SDK and using ADB
1.) Make sure debug mode is enabled:
Menu -> settings -> Applications -> Development, Check the box for USB Debugging.
2.) Download the SDK from Android SDK | Android Developers
3.) Download HTC Sync from HTC Mobile Phone Support - DROID ERIS by HTC (Verizon) - Downloads
4.) Install HTC Sync (This takes care of any driver issues)
5.) Extract the SDK to any directory (C:Androids is easy to remember) and install.
6.) Open a command window (Windows key + R -> Type "cmd" hit enter)
7.) Navigate to your SDK ools Directory

I take absolutely no credit for this, just saw a thread somewhere in the incredible forum about a boot animation and did it. Takes no ROOT, just install the SDK and a small amount of knowledge on how to use the ADB tool. Here is a video of it on my EVO.

I read in another forum about being able to change the boot animation without root. It worked so after reading about some of you all that don't like the sprint 4g boot animation I figured I'd share.
First, you need to install android SDK. Bill did a good guide to installing it: http://androidforums.com/tips-tricks-evo-4g/90418-how-install-android-sdk.html.
When I was installing the sdk I had a lot of trouble with installing the driver for the EVO for whatever reason. Eventually this is what worked for me:

Once you get SDK installed find a new boot animation. There are a few here: [url]
The boot animation should be a zip file named "bootanimation". Put this file in the tools folder of the sdk.
Open up command prompt (Start>Run>type "cmd"). In command prompt you need to get to the sdk tools folder. To do this I typed in "cd C:Documents and SettingsUserDesktopandroid-sdk-windows ools" where "User"=you user name. This may be different depending on your version of windows and where you unpacked sdk.
Now from here you can check to make sure your device is connected by typing in "adb devices". If you get a line that says "List of Devices Attached" and then a line with some numbers and letters followed by "device" you are conneceted. If not go back a try reinstalling Android SDK.
Now with the bootanimation.zip file in the tools folder and command prompt pointing to the tools folder type "adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local". Make sure you put the spaces in or it won't work.
Restart your phone and you should see the new boot animation instead of the Sprint 4G one.
I've got a rooted HTC Incred running Froyo...how do I change the boot up animation/sound? Specifically, I'm looking for a way to change it to the Nexus One's boot up animation. During my search, I came across the website DroidBoots.com. It seems that it only caters to the Motorola Droid, but does anyone know otherwise?
