I am working on a boot animation for the Droid X that features a clip from the 1986 animated movie of Optimus Prime blasting some Decepticons before his battle with Megatron. Just have to fix a few things before I release it for download. I am trying to add audio but am having a problem. I load the audio file into the /data/local/ folder (as an mp3 file) but it doesn't seem to play. Here is a video of the boot animation:

I followed all the instructions on the other really long thread. I am having one issue though. I installed SDK and the drivers, that all went perfect. The only issue I am having is with the actual bootanimation.zip. I am thoroughly stuck. After I download a bootanimation.zip it shows up in winrar with 4 files (loading, eye, android, and the desc.txt) I know it has to go in tools. I am just not sure how? Do I add each folder or is there a way to add them all? I also know the name has to be bootanimation.zip. I tried a few different ways and pushed it to my Inc. But I cant get it to boot with the animation.
View 29 Replies View RelatedI created my own boot animation and I am having problems with it. As you can see in the video below, it flashes every time it starts a new folder (part0 and part1) and continuously flashes when it repeats part1. It is not only this boot animation though as I have tried others and they are doing the same thing. If someone could help me with this, EDIT: I have reset to factory settings and tried again to no avail. I don't know what the problem is.

It now is on my phone but after it runs my screen goes green for awhile as i frantically press buttons to get it back. I tried uninstalling the app but that didn't get my original animation backk. How do i do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted recently with the evil eris 4.0 running, and used this app Boot Animation Changer and it worked alright but I think I might of did a backup of one of the animations and overwritten over the stock, so stock isn't there. How can I get the stock back?I dont know what to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince people are starting to make their own boot animations now, and this is something that everyone (not just root) can do to customize their Eris I thought it'd be helpful to start sharing them in one place. Also, since the name of the animation must be "bootanimation.zip" I have changed the names to avoid confusion when downloading, but it will have to be changed back before installing.
Installing the SDK and using ADB
1.) Make sure debug mode is enabled:
Menu -> settings -> Applications -> Development, Check the box for USB Debugging.
2.) Download the SDK from Android SDK | Android Developers
3.) Download HTC Sync from HTC Mobile Phone Support - DROID ERIS by HTC (Verizon) - Downloads
4.) Install HTC Sync (This takes care of any driver issues)
5.) Extract the SDK to any directory (C:Androids is easy to remember) and install.
6.) Open a command window (Windows key + R -> Type "cmd" hit enter)
7.) Navigate to your SDK ools Directory

It seems to work whether I put bootanimation.zip in /data/local or /system/media no problem... but the one thing I can't figure out is how to get a sound to play. I've tried every combination I can think of... boot.mp3 in the zip file, android_audio.mp3 in the zip file... tried the zip without the mp3, just placing the mp3 in the same directory as the zip (and also tried both names that way, in both directories stated above). Is there something I'm supposed to add to the desc.txt file? What am I missing? The only info I can find for the Eris is just "put a boot.mp3 in the zip file" which is just not working...

I have seen threads about how to change the boot logo/animation, but no one knows how to remove the animation entirely. I would like the verbose boot to display on start up if possible. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the VanillaDroid ROM installed on 2.1 v2. My phone is rooted. But I don't like the boot animation that came with the ROM, so I decided to change it. In every tutorial I've seen, people mention a "bootanimation.zip". However, I can't find it anywhere on the phone. But I did find the "bootscreen" folder in "/system/media/" with the bootup animations in it. I assumed that if I swap out the animations for the new ones, it would work (reasonable enough right?). Not really. Apparently, I deleted everything in the bootscreen folder, but when I try copying stuff into it from the memory card, it can't find any directory on the memory card through the "adb shell" stuff.
I know the folder with the bootscreen animations and stuff exists on the memory card, but apparently the shell commands say it doesn't exist. So now my phone boots up with no animation or sound. Its nice to have a quiet boot, and it does seem to start up a little faster, but I want a boot screen again. I know if I reflashed the ROM, it would come back (or at least should). But I don't want to have to reset and redownload all my apps and stuff, especially since I have just got everything the way I want. Is there anyway to get the bootup animations back without reflashing? And if I would reflash, since its the same ROM, would I need to do a factory reset?
I'm looking for a simple animation example using the android SDK for displaying a little animation between views.
Basically when we have a list view and a detail view - lets have a 'transition' animation between them.
Those who use Quicken on your pc, what are your options on the DROID to keep up to date your checking / savings account? I know there is not quicken app for the droid, so I'm at a loss of what I can use to keep me up to date with my accounts.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI try to write an simple animation by using a handler.However whatever I try it does not function asynch which causes only the last image in the sequence being displayed.

However it seems that all painting is done after the handler is completely done, meaning that the second image is shown and not the first.
I also tried the message handler implementation from the Snake sample but also here not with the expected result.
Can anyone give me an idea to show an image for a short definable period and switch back to the original image?
For some reason I lost the "Droid" sound when I boot. On any rom, stock, Liquid, some other Rom, custom ani's and everything. I think I even lost it when I upgraded to 2.2 non-root. Is there a quick fix for this (don't think I'm confident enought to start mod'ing bootanimation.zip files yet)? Or someone have an ani that I can push that has a confirmed sound with it to just see if I did something wrong earlier?

The one I want should be simple (I think)for a person who knows what they are doing. All I want is the stock boot animation droid word highlighted in neon green like a lot of blue ones I see where it splashes blue with highlights and the red eye turned the same neon green with my name highlighted neon green like the word droid but name will be above the eye. Kind of like this but with my name from sort of beginning to end.

but i just keep getting a black screen I've tried lots of different tweaks to the desk.text but nothing is working.

Was just curious if anyone knew if you could get the Motorola Droid boot animation on the Inc? I have been fooling around with the live wallpapers alot and thought it would be pretty cool to get the boot screen on this to. I already have the Droid sounds on here.

Instructions
*Note 1* These steps are performed on an unrooted Droid 1 through the Android SDK.
*Note 2* This process also works if you want this on your Droid Incredible.
*Note 3* This can also been done very simply if you are rooted. Simply copy the file in Root Explorer into /data/local and reboot your phone.
1. Download the file from above.
2. Place the file into your android-skd/tools folder.
3. Make sure nothing is selected and hold SHIFT+right click inside your tools folder.
4. Choose �open command window here.
5. Type in the following commands:adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
adb reboot
6. Your phone will now reboot with the official Droid 2 boot anim!
