View 10 RepliesJust found this out over at the XDA forums, that to change the boot animation and sound, you go to /system/customize/resource/ and it's named VZW_boot animation.zip and for the sound it's named VZW_Droid.zip..
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to remove the boot animation "droid" sound. I have deleted the android_audio.mp3 from /system/media as this was the only place I could find it. Rebooted and I still get the "droid". this is with the leaked OTA update.
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor some reason I lost the "Droid" sound when I boot. On any rom, stock, Liquid, some other Rom, custom ani's and everything. I think I even lost it when I upgraded to 2.2 non-root. Is there a quick fix for this (don't think I'm confident enought to start mod'ing bootanimation.zip files yet)? Or someone have an ani that I can push that has a confirmed sound with it to just see if I did something wrong earlier?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI pretty much have the custom boot animations figured out... It seems to work whether I put bootanimation.zip in /data/local or /system/media no problem... but the one thing I can't figure out is how to get a sound to play. I've tried every combination I can think of... boot.mp3 in the zip file, android_audio.mp3 in the zip file... tried the zip without the mp3, just placing the mp3 in the same directory as the zip (and also tried both names that way, in both directories stated above). Is there something I'm supposed to add to the desc.txt file? What am I missing? The only info I can find for the Eris is just "put a boot.mp3 in the zip file" which is just not working...
View 24 Replies View RelatedSo prior to manually installing the 2.2 update, I had a custom boot animation with sound. The update ran fine, no issues, and I knew I would have to re-install the custom boot animation files. However, I followed the same steps as I did prior to 2.2 (see below), and again, no errors. After reboot, I'm still seeing the Sprint 4G boot screen. Can anyone else confirm? Looks to me like it's been locked down.
From XDA:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
adb push android_audio.mp3 /data/local
adb reboot
I installed a boot animation per the instructions here (http://androidforums.com/tips-tricks-evo-4g/109120-how-install-new-boot-animation-without-root.html. I left the "Droid" mp3 in the localdata folder, and did not alter the config file. I'm using Pseudoram's boot file from [Collection] Custom Boot Animations and Splash Screens - xda-developers.It plays the sound sometimes, and sometimes not. Anyone know why?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI Have a rooted spice Mi-350 (ver 2.3.3) phone..I have successfully changed the boot animation and shutdown animation..but not able to enable the new boot animation sound. I have tried pasting mp3 files with name as "bootsound" ,"boot_sound", "android_sound" and put them both in system/media folder as well as data/bin/ but no sound at boot... (also I think i renamed or deleted some file long ago to stop the stock boot animation sound. what should be the file name and format and location to enable the boot animation sound ?? and also is there any file which controls the sound start like desc.txt file..read it somewhere...

View 2 Replies View RelatedAny way to play a sound file while the bootanimation is playing on CM11(specifically beanstalk, but being as it is cm based...) the reason im asking is because i would like the option to play a sound file of my own choosing rather then have no sound at all.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo last night I decided to try and change my boot animation but when I restart my phone I still have the stock verizon one. I have received the 2.2 update and not sure if that matters. And I was wondering what are the requirement to make a boot animation. I'm a huge UFC fan and would love to have a .gift of a fight or something.

I want to change the boot animation, since I now I have access to the /system/customize/resource folder can I just delete that boot animation file and move the new one over from the sd card? I was going to use Astro to do this.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI've got a rooted HTC Incred running Froyo...how do I change the boot up animation/sound? Specifically, I'm looking for a way to change it to the Nexus One's boot up animation. During my search, I came across the website DroidBoots.com. It seems that it only caters to the Motorola Droid, but does anyone know otherwise?
View 10 Replies View RelatedWas just curious if anyone knew if you could get the Motorola Droid boot animation on the Inc? I have been fooling around with the live wallpapers alot and thought it would be pretty cool to get the boot screen on this to. I already have the Droid sounds on here.
Answered my own question, if others are curious on where you can go for boot animations here is a good site.

I cant change the boot animation on 2. froyo.it shows up with a black screen on boot up.I know the boot animation in at system/customize/resources. I know im doing every thing right. Even if i change just one frame in the boot animation, it shows up with a black screen on boot up.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to completely remove the boot animation? I'd have to assume the phone would boot faster, and anyway, I don't need all these flashy things and sounds playing when I turn on my phone.
I thought about just removing the zip file thingy whose name I can't remember, but won't that just make it do the default animation?
Okay so some of you have probably figured this out but since it took me so long and I finally ended up pulling apart the Jager .zip install file to figure it out, here's now you do it.
Go look at any tutorial you want for making a boot animation, I'm not going into those speciffics here.
Instead of putting your first animation pictures in the folder part0, put it in the folder 'android'
In desc.txt you need to change the second line from 'p 1 0 part0' to 'p 1 0 android' substituting your loop number and frame delay appropriately of course.
Now just make sure you push bootanimation.zip and android_audio.mp3 to /data/local (this is NOT on the SD card but you can push to it without superuser)
To check to make sure it's working, do adb shell and use the bootanimation command. You can get out of it with a control-c (the audio will play but the screen will probbaly still timeout so if it goes blank just hit the power button).
I thought that i just had to place the boot animation.zip file in /data/local and that was it, but its not working. is there another way?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI followed all the instructions on the other really long thread. I am having one issue though. I installed SDK and the drivers, that all went perfect. The only issue I am having is with the actual bootanimation.zip. I am thoroughly stuck. After I download a bootanimation.zip it shows up in winrar with 4 files (loading, eye, android, and the desc.txt) I know it has to go in tools. I am just not sure how? Do I add each folder or is there a way to add them all? I also know the name has to be bootanimation.zip. I tried a few different ways and pushed it to my Inc. But I cant get it to boot with the animation.
View 29 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the droid world but catching on quickly. i have a droid incredible, rooted and updated radio and running sky raider 2.5.2. i am trying to use a custom boot animation from droid boots. i have tried using adb and it puts the file in data/local but the problem i have is it still runs the one in system/media. i bought the root explorer app and followed another guide to pasting over top of original zip in system/media but then i get a message saying the file being pasted is too large and cannot be completed. i reboot and it hasn't changed still says sky raider. i know its a boot animation but i dunno its something for me to play around with.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got CM6 on my phone right now and I'm trying to change the boot animation using Root Explorer. I've used Root Explorer to change the boot animation on the stock 2.2 Rom. When I try to change the boot animation in CM6 it won't go through. I know the boot animation is located in system/media/boot animation.zip and I choose Mount R/W and it still won't change it. Do I have to use another method to change it?
