just moved my computer into a different room.However there is no internet in this room so i have to connect by PDANET.The PDANET is connecting to my WIFI which im hoping to share to my xbox to be able to play online in here, as this is the only monitor/screen i have.I have connected using my macbook / PDANET / 3G (It's being repaired).. and that worked fine but for the life of me i can't get it to connect with my desktop

I am wanting to cancel my ISP.so my question is how do I set it up using my evo and a usb connection.i can root just no real desire to do so and I am not against paying for the app if it will work for me. do I just plug in my evo via usb and work with the internet settings on the system...has any one done this with real success?

When i did this it said it encountered an MTU error.what exactly is this and how can i fix it. Also how much data do you think playing on live would use because isn't there a "5 gb limit" on the unlimited phone plan.

I only have interest in rooting my phone if it's the only way to share internet with my Netbook. Wifi isn't all that important to me, and seeing as I've completely and utterly failed at doing the Unrevoked method for rooting... I'm hoping I won't actually have to root my phone after all.
So my internet is out and i want to use the tether feature on my droid to play xbox 360. The tether connected to my laptop but it doesnt go all the way to the xbox 360!

Both programs start up correctly and allow me to enable to wifi tethering but I can't get any device to see the wifi connection they are creating. I have tried both scanning for the network and trying to manually connect to it by typing in the SSID but I can't get any device to see the network. I am using a Droid X with the official 2.2 update rooted.

i will get the data on my login id(newbi123) from the computer to my android app and display:

If I connect to my home WiFi, it works well. I'll go out of the house and come back a few hours later and the phone does not automatically connect to my home WiFi. If I go to settings, I can see it detects my home WiFi, but says "Connection unsuccessful, select to try again." When I select it, it connects and works fine. My problem is, I don't think I should have to physically select my WiFi network everytime I come home. Shouldn't it see it and connect automatically? What am I dong wrong? Do I have a setting turned on/off that should be different?

Basically, the only location currently I really desire to use wifi is at home since if I'm at home, my phone is likely charging (since wifi eats battery) and the speed beats 3G. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just bought an Android Smart TV Box (to replace my AC Ryan media box which gave up the ghost a few days ago) and it mostly works fine - it is connected to my tv via hdmi and the box is hard wired to my router - so it is the standard connection setup. I have two usb hard drives connected to it. I obviously want to drag and drop media files from my phone (android) or my laptop (Windows7) to the connected hard drives I use ES Explorer app on my phone and Windows explorer but using either version I cannot see the Android box wirelessly - if i do a scan using es explorer it finds the laptop straight away and i can drag and drop but it just will not find the android box at all. However if i go onto the Android box and into the es explorer app and do a scan it picks up the laptop and i can drag and drop a file onto the laptop. So the wireless is sort of working as opposed to not at all. But just seems odd that i cant see it at all - i cant even ping it from the laptop.
