I notice many of you talk about how you have li-ion batteries when your phone arrives or was purchased. I was talking with a coworker today and he swore up and down the EVO shipped with a li-polymer battery and I swore it was a li-ion..well i popped open the battery compartment and guess what?Lithium Polymer battery!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the new Incredibles are not being shipped with Froyo despite the Verizon Wireless website saying so.I ordered mine on Friday afternoon 8/27 and received it yesterday, Tues afternoon 8/30.The VZ rep told me it would indeed be shipped with Froyo since "we wouldn't put it on our website if it wasn't true". Well, shocker, it wasn't true and they shipped me my new Incredible running 2.1. Very frustrating.

No success so now I want to go back to the original ics camera and gallery.. Unfortunately I delete the original ones when I install the 4.2 camera. So I download the camera apk and Google gallery. Apk and put in system.app the gallery shows up but not the camera. The gallery crash very often. I cannot make the camera shows up. Every time I turn on the phone it appears "Android update". I don't have a recovery.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLong time lurker and fan of the forums. I recently rooted my stock 2.2 Evo with 3.21 and it's awesome. Except I noticed I now have a very weak wifi signal. I would say it is a 50 to 75% drop.
Places my iPad has full signal my Evo can barely keep a connection. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated as I'm out of ideas.
I want to make my EVO run like its stock from HTC. No extra items or anything just android 2.2 and htc sense with 4G and all the rest functional. Is it also possible to do this and receive OTA updates from HTC, or if I go down the path of rooting and roms will i have to manually install any update when it happens. I would love to be able to get the phone as stock as possible and be able to never have to reinstall or manually update/flash/root etc. again.

I did not break root by installing the latest OTA patch...
Basically, I like the look and feel (and stability) of a stock rom, and the only real reason I'd like root access is for wireless tethering (and maybe Titanium Backup).
I got my Evo on the day it was released, and rooted using unrevoked3 back in July. Only after doing that did I realize that unrevoked3 sometimes causes some problems because it's not a full root.
I did not accept the OTA 2.2 because, even though I was OK losing root and then re-rooting whenever 2.2 could be rooted, I saw that people trying to accept the OTA over unrevoked3 were having major problems. I waited around for something that seemed to be a good, stable stock rooted 2.2 rom, and finally flashed it a few days ago. This is the ROM that I used: [ROM] UPDATED 9/8 Froyo 2.2, v3.28.651.6 │Rooted│ DeOdexed RevF1 - xda-developers.
I used Clockwork (because I couldn't figure out how to get Amon Ra) to do a wipe of data and cache, and the flash the ROM and radio/WiMax. I restored everything with Titanium, and it generally has been functional. However, I'm having the following problems:
1) The battery is draining at an alarming rate -- about 10% per hour, and I have the seidio 3500 battery. Before flashing, I was losing about 3% per hour.
2) It seems to be often trying to sync my Google contacts and getting hung up. I believe I have greatly reduced this problem by installing a Gmail patch today that was posted in the thread in which I got the ROM.
3) The 3G, CDMA, and Wimax signals are all noticeably weaker than they were pre-flash.
So basically, I'm not sure where to go from here. I don't know if there's anyway I can do a full root/unlock NAND now (which might be the culprit). I also don't know how I can use Amon Ra instead of Clockwork (which might be the culprit). All I'm trying to do, as I said, is get a stable, rooted 2.2 ROM with the same battery life and signal strength I had before.
Does anyone know where i can get a STOCK 2.1 ROM? I kind of screwed up my phone.I updated my phone to HBOOT .92 so i could use adrynalyne fourth wave ROM but i didn't like it.so i downgraded it back to .77 and i couldn't boot back up. it just went straight to hboot.so i did my android but it said that my boot image file was corrupted or something like that.

since the update I have not been able to use the stock android launcher.... I cant get it tovload at all....only sense and launcher pro. I have been trying to figure out which launcher I like best (love sense widgets but like look of launcher pro) and now I cant play with stock launcher. Also I get a force close on android system settings whenever I even try to get to it?

It installed fine and everything but when i click the phone icon it says "this application is not installed on your device" or whatever. I'm assuming its looking for the stock froyo phone app. Anyone know of an APK out there for this, or any other way to fix this? I'd like to use that launcher but its kind of pointless if the phone button doesn't work.

One of which was the stock message app. Now handcent will no longer send or receive picture messages, so I figure that it must have used some component of the stock app to send and receive MMS.
