I was just wondering if anybody knows where I can get the stock mms. apk app for android since I thought Handecent SMS could work by itself. I was wrong and now it seems it doesn't log incoming messages to conversations unless you have mms.apk.

Go to the market and download Panda Home, this will give you a nice stock android feel, and it makes the settings menu return to stock form Part of touchWiz is gone, looks like its not as tightly integrated as I thought

I am very interested in getting this feature on either RMK's new stock leak ROM or the 2.2 OTA stock ROM. Yes I know about the 3-1 reboot option along with hot boot. but im really interested in porting this over to a stock ROM for us. No success so now I want to go back to the original ics camera and gallery.. Unfortunately I delete the original ones when I install the 4.2 camera. So I download the camera apk and Google gallery. Apk and put in system.app the gallery shows up but not the camera. The gallery crash very often. I cannot make the camera shows up. Every time I turn on the phone it appears "Android update". I don't have a recovery.

I have been trying to figure out which launcher I like best (love sense widgets but like look of launcher pro) and now I cant play with stock launcher. Is there any way to set the stock messaging app so that you get a constant reminder that a text message has been received? I've missed quite a few already because the led light only flashes for a short time. I uninstalled handcent as I was unable to send or receive picture messages with it, and the app was slightly laggy when quite a few messages were stored. Looks like I'll have to go back to handcent if I want a constant flashing led as a reminder. Does chomp offer the same customization?

I've tried:

I want to make some changes to the stock Mms Android application and install it on my device. However, I have problems with compiling the code checkout obtained from git. I have created a new Eclipse Android project with "use existing sources", setting the target framework to 2.1. However, Eclipse does not find some needed framework classes, e.g. android.telephony.SmsManager.
I have the whole Android toolchain set up and working (make finished without errors), Eclipse is running on Sun Jdk 1.5.
Perhaps my mistake was that I did not copy the .classpath file into the new project, I will check this. Never the less, should I succeed, will I be able to install this .apk into a non-rooted device?
found that someone was trying to do this with the Desire but it was never resolved. is it possible to run the HTC Sense UI with the stock Android launcher over top of it? specifically, i'm looking for the block like pattern on the bottom instead of apps/phone/add in the Sense UI. and i'd also like the 3D scrolling of the apps launcher (drawer).

All of my text threads got erased when I went to reply to someone. The weirder part is that a few hours later, all of my texts had the mail symbol with a green "i" next to it, signifying that it was pending. People receive the messages, but mine all have a pending status.
Currently using the stock HTC messaging app on my Desire but have been debating Handcent and have seen a few mention Chomp SMS.What do you guys all prefer?If i did decide too go with Handcent how can i stop my messages coming through as standard notifications through the stock messaging app?

I'm on a rooted Orange Hero running SenseHero2.1. I'd rather not have to unroot my phone to try out the official 2.1 ROM. Chances are I'd try and go back to using the custom ROM anyway.
So is there a way to get a rooted 'stock' Orange 1.5 ROM on my phone, so that I could try getting the update OTA for 2.1?
I'm looking at getting a Hero on Sprints Service. I was wondering if their is an app out there that lets you enter stocks symbols and then will give you an audio alert when they fall or increase a certain percentage (hopefully customizable as well). Anything like that out there?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using Dolphin HD for a long time but lately it's been really slow. I switched to the stock browser and it seems like it's twice as fast as Dolphin. Although I like the bells and whistles on Dolphin, I'll choose a fast browser over that any day.
My question is... what is the correct way to exit the stock browser? I don't want it running in the background. I don't want to get a task killer cause I've heard horror stories about them. I don't want to go into the browser settings each time and erase the cache and whatever every time I want to exit the browser.
Is there an easy way to exit the browser and make sure it's actually closed?
