HTC EVO 4G :: Stock Froyo Launcher

I like the stock android launcher in Froyo, so since it isnt included i found the APK for it on XDA. It installed fine and everything but when i click the phone icon it says "this application is not installed on your device" or whatever. I'm assuming its looking for the stock froyo phone app. Anyone know of an APK out there for this, or any other way to fix this? I'd like to use that launcher but its kind of pointless if the phone button doesn't work.

Will I see the differences if I use launcher pro when I get Froyo? Maybe speed wise. But not the additional features right? Ie... widgets, new photo album etc.

to make the AWD Launcher look just like Froyo, create 2 Bettercut shortcuts (yes, unfortunately you have to purchase Bettercut yah, it's ugly).Make one that points to Phone and choose this icon:Drag that into your left hotspot.Make one that points to Internet and choose this icon:Drag that into your right hotspot.now go into Settings and change the AB Scale Factor to "8".I extracted these icons myself out of a Froyo build...so they are the real deal. First Impressions of Android 2.2 for the DROID Incredible | Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog That article stated that you if you cleared the defaults for the home button in Sense Froyo, that it wouldnt let you select a different launcher (widget locker, launcher pro etc). Does this mean I can't use launcher pro on sense froyo? If not, does someone know of a stable ROM they're using that does allow this? I just rooted my phone today for the first time, and am getting the Froyo itch.

since the update I have not been able to use the stock android launcher.... I cant get it tovload at all....only sense and launcher pro. I have been trying to figure out which launcher I like best (love sense widgets but like look of launcher pro) and now I cant play with stock launcher. Also I get a force close on android system settings whenever I even try to get to it?

LauncherPro hides the dialer button that you get in stock Froyo, and when I hit the Call button, it pulls up call history. Is there a way to change what comes up when I hit the call button? The only sense feature i miss is the dialer (minus the lag). I hate having to hit the search button or scroll through the list to find the contact I want to dial.

I am using Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo and I want the original launcher (Rounded with phone in the middle) for the phone. Is there a way to do that? is there and apk for that? or is there a way to get all the stock widgets to work with Launcher Pro.

found that someone was trying to do this with the Desire but it was never resolved. is it possible to run the HTC Sense UI with the stock Android launcher over top of it? specifically, i'm looking for the block like pattern on the bottom instead of apps/phone/add in the Sense UI. and i'd also like the 3D scrolling of the apps launcher (drawer).

I want to modify the stock ICS launcher (like Trebuchet, Nova, etc. did). How can I do this? I understand that source code of Launcher from Google cannot be opened in Eclipse like an ordinary application (because it uses private APIs). So how does Cyanogenmod team do this?

Why isn't there any modded version of trebuchet? On any CM rom with 68 ram or less device, another third party launcher consumes 50 mb ram which is just a waste where there is a stock launcher. SO why using third party like Nova or apex? Well Trebuchet doesnt offer even basic customization? LIke changing icon, app drawer grid,unread notifications etc etc.
I dont know why CM team doesnt update it. Its the same since god knows how long. Or as a matter of fact, no dev has worked ont hat who are working with CM roms!

I've seen this type of comment a few times lately and it's got me wondering if I should take the time to delete the stock launcher. I'm using LauncherPro.
From Chevy:
"If you DO use another launcher, use my tools to DELETE the stock Launcher2 (it will back up to SD). Otherwise, it will still take resources even though you don't run it."
That being said, how do I delete the stock launcher on CM RC3? Root Explorer?

I like the stock launcher the best, along with the Motorola widgets. Well actually, I just need the quick tasks for contacts, which is why I want the widgets. When I apply themes, is there any way to keep the stock launcher instead of the preinstalled ADW or LP? And if so, will this allow me to use the Moto widgets? Or are these widgets/Blur part of something else?

Running 2.0d for several days now and love it. Very quick and stable when using sense ui, however when I switch to the stock launcher some very strange stuff happens.
The thing takes 3-6 seconds to open from sleep, it just hangs on the background image with no icons or nothing. Then after that finally loads there is an even longer delay when you try to pull up the programs.
After you do this the first time the launcher becomes very quick and normal, that is until you put the phone back to sleep, when you put the phone back to sleep and re-open the whole process repeats.
This does not happen with sense, so is autokiller, killing launcher causing it to completely reload everytime? Is there a way to switch it where it kills sense and lets launcher run?

I just installed Launcher Pro Beta, and am trying to "flavor" up my EVO. I really used the stock sense widgets that toggled 4g, wifi, BT, etc, but am unable to find them with the new home launcher. Am i unable to use the previously installed default widgets with this launcher/home? How about the default weather/clock combo, i can't seem to find a way to add it either. I liked the simple look of the Launcher Pro icons along the bottom, that's all i really wanted changed.
EDIT - Found it, will need Beautiful Widgets or something similar

I just don't like using stock launcher or whatever you wanna call it, I've come accustomed to using third party launchers..if i'm using Apex or something.. does the stock launcher continue to run in the background and drain more battery then if I were to just use stock? Is there anyway to disable something if my phone is rooted so I can continue to use Apex but stop the default launcher from running as well? Or does android not work like that and if I have apex it cancels out the default launcher?

Just got Rezound today. Not sure I like the Sense launcher, but I know I like Launcher Pro.
And I seem to remember a way to switch back to the default launcher if I set Launcher Pro as my default but I can't find it in the settings menu.

I used Launcher Pro on my old Droid 1 and I am just trying to figure out whether I want to run it on my X. My question is, what does Launcher Pro offer over the stock home screen app that comes on the X? The stock one now offers a dock at the bottom and has 7 different screens. So, I am trying to figure out the real advantage now.

I changed my browser from the stock to Operah. But everytime I hit the browser in the launcher it opens the stock one first. I tried the other launching programs, I didn't like that I couldnt use the widgets that come with the phone.
