Starting today my kickstand has decided that it will not stay closed. Has anybody else had this issue? If I slam it closed it will stay but if I just closed it, it keeps flipping open on its own. I do not like this!

Alright, be honest... Who's using the kickstand? I'm not. I was open to it when I got it, but I just haven't found it useful. If the kickstand held the phone up in portrait mode as well as landscape mode, I'd probably use it when I'm just sitting at my desk, but I don't really use landscape mode unless I'm watching a movie or TV, which I haven't really done yet or see myself doing. So is anyone using it? And for what?
View 45 Replies View RelatedSo it didn't happen immediately after dropping my phone, but I've dropped my phone a few times from hip level on hard surfaces (concrete,tile, etc.) and one day I noticed my spring on the stand wasn't operating correctly. Basically now my kickstand won't close fully and randomly will pop open or stay open like halfway. So my question is has anyone had this issue yet? Was the repair easy to fix? Just open the backplate and keep performing surgery until the stands spring is accessible?
View 28 Replies View RelatedFirst off I have the VZW holster/case combo for my DI. Amazon.com: HTC Droid Incredible Shell Holster Combo: Cell Phones... Then I purchased the Body Glove kickstand for a whopping $1.98 Amazon.com: Body Glove Low Profile Replacement Swivel Holster Belt Clip with Adjustable Kickstand for Snap-On Case: Electronics Then, using a hacksaw blade, I cut the kickstand portion to separate it from the swivel belt clip (which is not needed). I carefully aligned the kickstand to the backside of the case (camera lens side) and, using a pencil, marked where the kickstand would be attached. Using a tiny bit of super glue on both upper and lower edges of the backside of the kickstand, I pressed it into place, held it in position for 30 seconds and then set it aside for a few minutes for the glue to set. It slides in and out of the case and does not interfere or add bulk to either the phone or the case. The kickstand works in either landscape or portrait and "clicks" (locks) exactly the same as the factory Body Glove does. I made one for my Eris and now one for my Incredible. It's never broken off and I use it constantly with no problems at all. People ask me where I got this cool holster/case combo with the kickstand. I tell them I made it.

I know their is a solution I can probably use to get rid of the scratches but not sure exactly what it is. Any anyone knows or has any ideas how to get the scratches off, please post.

Reason I ask is because I have the Htc Imagio, but when I put a similar gel case on it it made it wider and it would tip over when using the kickstand, so I cannot use the gel case.

I also believe something actually transmitted or received information via wifi at one point (my wifi usage said 9 -14%). I always check to make sure its off but when the phone is sleeping (screen is off) something turns it on. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

View 27 Replies View RelatedJust got my monthly bill from the crooks over at AT&T.With my iPhone, I complained about paying $.20/TXT MSG, so when I got my cappy the rep suggested I get a 200 msg package for $5/mnth - OK, that will save me some money.So now I get my bill, and have $30 in extra TXT MSG charges.Something called ICQ IM in other words Interner chat like AOL instant messenger, gmail chat, yahoo IM, MSN messenger are all rolled into the chat/TXT MSGing category and appropriately charged. F'N CROOKS.What the hell is my $30/mnth unlimited data plan for then?This is the classic nickel and diming our parents warned us about.It's always blown my mind that they charge extra for TXT MSGs in the first place.Think about it, each letter we text is 1 bit of data. So take the word "HELLO" - that's 6 bits of data. If I spoke the word "HELLO" over a digital voice connection it would be several hundred Kilobytes.These crooks are just exploiting the tween texting revolution and we all have to pay.

After months of trying, I STILL cannot find a single instant messaging app for my HTC Eris (2.1) that will STAY CONNECTED.I primarily want to connect to MSN (Windows Live, whatever they call it now) as well as Yahoo and AIM, though if I could only get MSN to work I'd be satisfied. However all the apps I've tried (ALL OF THEM!) behave the same way. Each one will connect, and either not show me as online to the rest of the world (verified my by gf), show my friends as not being signed in (when they actually are), and randomly disconnect me and NEVER RECONNECT ME unless I manually bring up the app on the screen. It's as if the apps have no connection to the IM's servers, or reality itself.I have tried MSN Talk, Meebo, Ebuddy, Nimbuzz. Each one of these claims to automatically reconnect if there's a problem, but NONE of them ACTUALLY DO. No matter what, I drop off, I'm shown as "signed out" to the outside world, and the apps will only reconnect (or pretend to reconnect) when I manually bring the app to the screen.I would expect that any IM might disconnect if I went out of signal range and came back, however this happens even when the signal is strong and uninterrupted. And it NEVER reconnects if I leave the phone alone. ONLY if I manually bring the IM app up does it even go through the motions of a reconnect.I can try messaging people even when it looks like it's connected to the server(s), but over half the time, the messages don't make it, because it's not REALLY connected at all.Again, this is using ALL IM apps I've tried so far.I refuse to believe that Android has ZERO working IM apps available, so... is there one that actually works properly? Is there some setting or tweak that will "keep-alive" the connection? Is there a problem with my Eris? Or... are there really no working IM apps for Android?
View 15 Replies View RelatedEvery morning I listen to RadioTime on my way to work and it is constantly losing it's connection and then buffering for a while to reconnect. I can't figure out the problem because when it shuts off, all it takes to get it up and running again is to hit pause and then play. Judging from that I don't think it's an issue with where I'm at not having a 3G connection. If anyone knows a fix for this it would be much appreciated.I apologize if I didn't explain this very well, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI've had my Fascinate for a few weeks and just tonight out of the blue, no matter what timeout interval I have my backlight to shut off at, it goes blank and a few seconds later turns itself back on. Then keeps cycling on and off indefinitely. This happens whether or not it's charging.I'm not rooted, and the only things I installed today were Pulse news reader and Nose Candy. I've since uninstalled both and the problem persists. Any help? Obviously this can't stay, or else my battery will die within a couple hours, even when not in use.

When i plugged in my phone it shows that it is trying to charge but the percentage never goes up and slowly goes down. I have to turn the phone off and let it charge. When I do that for about 4 hours I turn it back on and the charge is only at 18% max. I need some help! I have uninstalled most of my programs and all of my most recent downloads.
