I thought that Action was preeminent during intent resolution and if the intent had the same action as the intent filter, it would be considered a match regardless of data, if the filter did not specify anything. So I was very surprised to find that supplying action+data where filter had only action, causes it to fail. In the code below, if you comment out line 47 so that data is *not* sent, only then it resolves correctly. To get it to work with the data (an id that is simply a String), what mime type should I specify in the intent filter?

Alright, be honest... Who's using the kickstand? I'm not. I was open to it when I got it, but I just haven't found it useful. If the kickstand held the phone up in portrait mode as well as landscape mode, I'd probably use it when I'm just sitting at my desk, but I don't really use landscape mode unless I'm watching a movie or TV, which I haven't really done yet or see myself doing. So is anyone using it? And for what?

Starting today my kickstand has decided that it will not stay closed. Has anybody else had this issue? If I slam it closed it will stay but if I just closed it, it keeps flipping open on its own. I do not like this!

So it didn't happen immediately after dropping my phone, but I've dropped my phone a few times from hip level on hard surfaces (concrete, tile, etc.) and one day I noticed my spring on the stand wasn't operating correctly. Basically now my kickstand won't close fully and randomly will pop open or stay open like halfway. So my question is has anyone had this issue yet? Was the repair easy to fix? Just open the backplate and keep performing surgery until the stands spring is accessible?

First off I have the VZW holster/case combo for my DI. Amazon.com: HTC Droid Incredible Shell Holster Combo: Cell Phones... Then I purchased the Body Glove kickstand for a whopping $1.98 Amazon.com: Body Glove Low Profile Replacement Swivel Holster Belt Clip with Adjustable Kickstand for Snap-On Case: Electronics Then, using a hacksaw blade, I cut the kickstand portion to separate it from the swivel belt clip (which is not needed). I carefully aligned the kickstand to the backside of the case (camera lens side) and, using a pencil, marked where the kickstand would be attached. Using a tiny bit of super glue on both upper and lower edges of the backside of the kickstand, I pressed it into place, held it in position for 30 seconds and then set it aside for a few minutes for the glue to set. It slides in and out of the case and does not interfere or add bulk to either the phone or the case. The kickstand works in either landscape or portrait and "clicks" (locks) exactly the same as the factory Body Glove does. I made one for my Eris and now one for my Incredible. It's never broken off and I use it constantly with no problems at all. People ask me where I got this cool holster/case combo with the kickstand. I tell them I made it.

HTC's horrible decision in placement of the stand(aka right where the phone rests), my kickstand has developed some scratches. I know their is a solution I can probably use to get rid of the scratches but not sure exactly what it is. Any anyone knows or has any ideas how to get the scratches off, please post.

Is it just me? or the kickstand in the video looks pretty roughed up? Because the material on the kick stand is easily scratched? I can't imagine this guy (Phil Nickinson) has had the phone for long, wonder how he manged to do that.

Looking at videos/pics of the kickstand, it almost looks like the kickstand supports the phone when in portrait orientation. Can anyone confirm this? Is landscape the only way the kickstand works with the phone?

Anyone using the black silicone gel case from Sprint?, if so, is it stable when using the kickstand? Reason I ask is because I have the Htc Imagio, but when I put a similar gel case on it it made it wider and it would tip over when using the kickstand, so I cannot use the gel case.

For those of you who have the phone already....as the title states, will the kickstand hold the phone upright ? Although, it may be a bit risky of it tipping over.

I was just browsing my SD card on my computer last night and realized that there is a lot of folders/files left over from programs I uninstalled a long time ago. Has anyone just gone in there and deleted them? I am actually pretty surprised about how much stuff was left over. I guess the unistall is like windows where it doesn't always get everything.

Am I the only one who thinks HTC needs to get on the ball and tweak SenseUI to work in landscape mode? I mean seriously, they built the hardware with the kickstand for it to sit in landscape mode yet the software is stuck in portrait. Does anyone know of a reference that lists the differences between stock Android and SenseUI?

I previously had problems attaching photos to my text messages without getting a window that says "too large to send" and I read here that the solution to this problem would be to download Handcent from Market. This solved my problem, but now I have a new one.
New problem is: Texts are coming in both Handcent and Sprint messaging which doesnt bother me much except for the fact that now I have messages doubling up. I've been using Handcent most of the day to see what other benefits it has other than the photo capability. While I continue to text with Handcent, the Spring message icon continues to blink telling me I have incoming messages even tho I've already read them in Handcent.
Is there a solution to this? From what I've read, Handcent is a much better test messaging tool to use...but the blinking light is starting to annoy me. Please help and send replies to my email: cheshirecat1991@gmail.com since I can't always be signed on here. Thank you.

I have a Spring Security (form based authentication) web app running CXF JAX-RS webservices and I am trying to connect to this webservice from an Android app that can be authenticated on a per user basis. Currently, when I add an @Secured annotation to my webservice method all requests to this method are denied. I have tried to pass in credentials of a valid user/password (that currently exists in the Spring Security based web app and can log in to the web app successfully) from the android call but the request still fails to enter this method when the @Secured annotation is present. The SecurityContext parameter returns null when calling getUserPrincipal().
How can I make a request from an android app that can enter a Spring Security secured webservice method?
Here is the code I am working with at the moment:

I've had my moment for a few days. When I'm on a call, this strange sound occurs from time to time. It sounds like it is coming from in the phone itself, so I think it's a hardware issue. The only way I can think to describe it is it sounds like a spring. Not boing-boing-boing-boing like a pogo stick, but just boing-boing very quickly. Once I thought was able to recreate the sound by moving the phone closer and then further away from my head, but besides that one time I've not be able to recreate it. It just occurred randomly about 24 times during a 30 min call.
At first I thought that the way I hold the phone or the proximity to my ear affects it, but again, I cannot consistently recreate it. Any ideas?

After messing with the LED Light app, it appears that only my bottom LED is lighting up. I've tried taking multiple pictures in different lighting situations and I'm having the same problem. I could have sworn that both LEDs lit up before. I've never kept the LED Light app on for an extended amount of time so I don't believe I've caused it to burn out.
