Motorola Droid X :: Any Camera Application - Faster With AF And Shutter?
Aug 28, 2010
I'm liking the quality of the camera but the shutter lag is way slower than on my old env2 and on the inc. Anyone know of any other camera apps that are quicker with the AF and shutter? Any idea if 2.2 fixes this?

Just got my Droid X. Is there an alternated camera app that has an on screen shutter trigger? I don't like using the dedicated camera button because my case is sort of thick and the button is so small, its hard to get it to snap the shot, I'd rather tap the screen like other android phones.

Is there a way to turn off the flash and/or the shutter sound of the camera when taking a picture?
Flash Mode says auto under it, but the box is grayed out and I cannot select it to change it.
This is the same for the auto focus feature, I am unable to select that as well.

I've read a couple of reviews on the Moto X and they all say that at times the phone felt sluggish and that the shutter speed on the camera can be slow at times. I know that "at times" doesn't mean it's a slow processor but vs. the incredible which is being touted as the phone that blows through any task with ease I was wondering which phone has better performance.

I have the original Droid. Love it. Thinking of getting the Droid X. One question. How is the shutter compared to the original? Im satisfied with the pic quality from posted samples. But the original has a noticeable lag when taking one pic to the next making quick shots and successive shots not very practicable. Specially since it makes moving subjects blurry. Does the Droid X camera take faster pics then the original?

I Think...

I just looked through the suggested threads but nobody really answered the question. I own a captivate and it is pretty much impossible to take pictures of myself with it. Is there a camera app that would allow me to use either the volume rocker or the power button as a shutter?

Does anyone else find find the camera on the Desire extremely sensitive to any hand movement while taking a picture? I found the camera on my old iPhone 3GS much better in this department (although the picture quality overall was not as good). And I know that a phone is no replacement for a dedicated camera, but is there any way to improve the shutter speed/sensitivity to movement?

Is anyone else having issues with shutter speed? I can't take pictures that are perfectly clear. Most of the people are clear, but usually someone is moving which leaves a big blur. Before people say it's camera shake, I know the difference between shake and shutter blur. It seems the shutter is staying open too long to allow enough light in for proper exposure.

I am looking for a way to change the light sensitivity of my Evo 4G camerea. I know it is not the camera's shutter speed because it is a digital camera. The next most relevant aspect is the ISO setting, but the Android SDK does not have a way to manipulate it. Does any one know an alternative? i.e scene mode, exposure or effects.Does anyone have the run down on what scene mode values represents?

why in 2013, developers are STILL putting warnings in their ROMs that disabling your shutter sound is illegal in some areas. It's not and never was or will be. It would have been, if the Bill from 2009 labeled "H.R. 414" passed. Which it didn't. So I ask, Why put in a warning from something 4 years ago, if there is no danger of breaking any law?

I have tried many of those camera apps from market, like camera 360, but non of them can adjust shutter speed/exposure way I wanted. Say, I want a long exposure for night photo. For example I would like input exposure value to app, so that it would expose photo for 10 seconds.know app to change exposure/shutter speed?

Is there any way to disable shutter sound in builtin camera app?
In folder "system/media/audio/camera/" change name of "cam_snap_0.ogg" and it's done.
I renamed folder name "camera" and by this way disabled any camera sounds witch was useless for me.

I was scrolling through the Settings for my Droid, and I noticed that under Manage Applications (after changing the filter options to ALL) that Camera was listed twice. Same icon and version (6) but different data size (124 KB and 192KB). Is this normal? I was thinking it might just be for video and photos to separate the two, but I was hoping to get experts opinions.

Anytime I try to access my camera utility, through pressing the camera button, choosing the camera icon, or choosing the camcorder icon, the auto focus clicks like normal but the program does not open. The screen just goes black for a second and opens once more on the main screen. When I take the SD card out it works fine, but otherwise nothing will work. I have tried a factory reset, uninstalling several programs, and power cycling over and over again.

Any of you see a lot of banding on the camera app in medium to low lighting. The flash usually prevents banding from appearing in pictures but when recording there is huge amounts of banding. is this normal?
