May 28, 2010Will you be able to use a Bluetooth earpiece to do hands free dialing? I know this is a problem with the Incredible and the Moto Droid.

Sep 30, 2010Found new app on the news this morning. So much fun! Totally hands free. Just search Google for AdelaVoice. Works good with chompSMS. Be sure to read the command page. Will even send voice text, but I haven't tried that yet. Still in beta but will be the bomb when it is finished!

Just say a phrase like "Text Doug With I am On My Way Home" and Shout will search your contacts for matches, confirm "Sending 'I am on my way home' to 'Doug Hansknecht', correct?". Simply tap the Big Green Yes button and you're done.

Nexus :: Bluetooth-Car Hands Free N1 AT&T
Mar 26, 2010Just got an N1 AT&T unlocked. Paired it with a Nissan 350Z bluetooth hand free. It pairs and the light on the car says it's connected. The N1 BT icon says is connected as well. When a call comes in, the car and the phone will both ring. When I pick up the call, either on the phone or the car, the system will switch to "phone" but the call always goes to the phone. I have only been able to actually use the car's handsfree once. Is anyone else having issues with their BT hands free in their cars. The other phones I had worked perfectly.

Jun 15, 2010Is anyone having problems connecting their phone to a hands free kit? I get intermittent drop outs etc.
I connected with my phone to the hands free and it didn't even ask me for a passcode as it does with others.
So................the problem is that it sometimes connects and will then drop and will have to restart both devices.

May 18, 2010I remember one of the sticking points last year for me, was the inherent problem in Android of Bluetooth support for Bluetooth Voice Dialling for true "hands free". Not to mention Bluetooth file transfer. I understand Android may still have a problem with Bluetooth voice dialing, or is this just problems with, I think it is, "Droid"?

Dec 5, 2009I found this dock that is almost what I'm looking for, but I don't like FM transmitters. I prefer just to use a cable for the sound since it's clearer and I don't have to keep fiddling with stations when I get feedback. All the other docks that I've found are window mounted suction cup deals. Does anyone know of a dock that plugs into the cigarette lighter, but doesn't have the FM transmitter?

May 26, 2010I have been having an annoying problem whereby my phone takes somewhere between 2 and 10 or so minutes to connect to my car's hands free kit. The handsfree is a factory fit bluetooth unit in an Audi. I've had the car over 2 years and with my previous phones (SE W810i, K750i and C905) the connection was always made within 15 seconds of turning the ignition on. With the Desire it takes so long sometimes that I can have reached my destination before it connects!

I can accept calls by clicking on the mic, but clicking on the mic while in a call seems to just mute the phone.That's a useful feature, but does anyone know how to hang up on a call using the Apple handsfree set on the Droid?

If you have the phone connected to a handsfree bluetooth system in a car and are also using the phone to play music via an aux input through the headphone jack will they both work? I am just wondering if the bluetooth connectivity will override the fact that you have something plugged into the headphone jack. Nov 19, 2009I have a Blaupunkt Melbourn car stereo with the Blaupunkt USB/Bluetooth Interface installed in my car and it used to work just fine with my Sprint Mogul and Touch Pro, but I can't seem to make it work with my Hero. When I pair the two, the radio only recognizes the Hero as an audio source and not as a phone. In other words, I assume I can stream music from the phone to the radio but I can't answer the phone with it. I should add that the connection icon shows up as audio headphones instead of a phone handset in the Bluetooth Devices screen.And this is just the opposite of what I need. I could care less whether I can stream music, but I need to be able to use the car radio as a hands-free device and as I wrote in the last paragraph, the radio worked perfectly in that capacity with my last two phones.So does anyone have any idea whether this is a phone problem or a stereo problem? Does anyone have any idea if there's a work-around? For that matter, does anyone have any helpful information at all?

Jan 2, 2014I went through all the settings and could not find a way to configure the phone to speak the SMS, the caller id, etc....when I am driving.
On my other phone, a samsung galaxy s3 from verizon with android 4.3, there is a "driving mode". I thought it was a true android capability, but could it be a samsung feature instead ?In any case how do I get the Nexus 5 with Android 4.4 to do the same ? can I get it to do it using an NFC tag...

Nov 11, 2009Found a few threads about people having problems transferring their phonebook to their hands free kit in their automobile. Had the same problem myself - was able to connect and pair with the car kit. I was able to make and receive calls, but didn't have the phonebook.
Then yesterday, while setting in the car, I was going to re-pair the connection between the phone and car I noticed that in the Notification Bar that the car was asking permission to receive the phonebook from the phone. Opened the Notification and granted permission and clicked on always grant access (or something similar). Phonebook was then transfered. Haven't had a problem with it since...
HTC Desire :: Desire Hands-free Kit Stopped Working
Jun 10, 2010I got my desire last week and everything was good until last night when i changed my googlemail address to gmail. I looked across the forum and found that the best thing to do was reset the phone. I did this and all was perfect once more until I went to go to college and was listening to music but couldn't change tracks or pause using the hands-free kit. I have no idea how to get it working again and don't know if the reset had anything to do with it stopping working. All I know is it worked perfectly the other day.

Aug 11, 2010I recently purchased a Blueant S4 bluetooth speakerphone, Im trying to use the voice dailing feature with the new 2.2 froyo release and it sucks.....really. Even not using the blueant speakerphone and just using the phone trying to speak commands directly at it in a quiet room, it dosent even work. Example I tried to call my mother today when prompted I said "Call Mom" the phone decoded that as "Call Aubrey" lol which is a imporvement from the "nothing found" errors ive been getting....is there another app to replace the stock voice dialing application that works better?

You have to have the phone in your hand, activate the voice dialing, speak your request, then manually confirm your request on the phone its self.. I thought the whole purpose of the voice dialing feature was for hands free capabilities.. The way this program currently works renders it utterly useless. I have a Cardo Q2 setup for my motorcycle helmet.. which has a bluetooth phone link setup in it.. Its basically a bluetooth headset thats integrated into the helmet. Everything works fine with the G1 phone except the voice dialing. Does anyone know of a Voice Dialing app that basically revamps the factory program so that you can use voice dialing w/ your headset? I searched and searched but couldn't find any real answer to this question.

Jul 21, 2010After watching many news clips about the new iPhone I figured out my inability to disconnect a call was caused by the way I was holding the phone and that is what the proximity sensor is all about. Rather poed that neither Verizon or Motorola knew what I was talking about. According to TV News this is a problem with almost every new smart phone. I now have an interconnected problem. I am having trouble voice dialing a call. Apparently many others are as well. What is the significance of the different NAME fields in "Contacts"? Which one will the Voice Dialer look in? Dec 6, 2009I'm Rubenn from London UK and recently upgraded to a Hero HTC after having used a Touch Duo HTC for around two years. I, like may others contributing to your forum, am very sad that there is no way I can use my head set and voice dial out with this phone. What a step backwards as in many other respects, this is a wonderful phone although it will take me ages to get my head around all the other possibilities it offers. Is it possible that HTC will get out a patch that can be installed at some point in the near future.

Aug 26, 2010This is what I want the end result to be. I have the screen to left of my home screen clear. What I NEED for this screen is to have 8 one touch phone contacts that I can clearly tell the difference between. The 8 would consist of 4 people, my 4 supervisors with both of their phone numbers (office & cell). I tried 2 folders, one for office and one for cell. I don't like it that way. Using these, in some cases will need to be quick, and the folder doesn't stay open when you move away from the screen. If I put them directly on the screen neither the icon nor the title show the difference between the office and the cell. Then I created groups for cell and office in Google contact.s I added the HTC People widget (the tall one) for both. The widgets, of course, stay open, but when I touch the button it only takes me to the contact card. An app, thoughts, suggestions?
