HTC EVO 4G :: What Is Your Average Battery Temperature
Jun 13, 2010
What is your average battery temperature? When in use (surfing the web, etc.)? It seemed like the first few days my unit stayed pretty cool but now it is getting a little warm after only a few minutes use. It can get as cool as 28C when not in use, but has gotten over 40C with lite surfing/use. Normal?
I have looked at all my apps and nothing seems to be running out of the ordinary. The only thing I am not sure of is in the app "spare parts" under network usage I have a top bar that says "0" and it is full. When I try to click on it for more info it force closes. Does everyone have this (is it normal) or is it something I need to check into further? Anyone know?

What is your EVO's average battery temp when resting? Charging? Or when in use? Or the hottest it's gotten?
Usually when I am charging or not using it the battery temp remains around 85F but when using it for a little bit it will rise to around 99F and the hottest it's gotten was around 104F.

What is the average temp that the battery should be running at? Mine runs on average at 99 degrees. If I am talking on the phone it usually goes up to about 110. Is that normal or a bad battery. (this is with all other apps turned off).

I want to buy the HTC Desire or the Samsung Galaxy S. At the moment I prefer the HTC Desire. It's smaller, feels better and has flash which the Samsung lacks. But when I read the fact that the HTC Desire is very limited in internal memory for installing apps and the fact that you can't transfer a lot of apps to your sd card with the help of the froyo 2.2 update got me thinking again about which phone I should pick. I don't want to buy the phone and later regret that I don't have enough space for apps. That's not the only thing that is bothering me. So I want to ask a few questions.
1: What is the average number of apps you can install on the internal memory (so without SD card) of the HTC Desire if you installed update 2.2?
2: Let's say I use internet 2 hours a day, watch movies, listen to music 2 hours a day and also call people 1 hour and send a few text messages. If I do this everyday will I have to charge my battery everyday or will it last longer?
3: Can you install apple apps on HTC desire?
4: What is the average size of an application?

My Incredible's battery was at 35 degrees Fahrenheit at idle. After playing some music via wifi using Radio Time for an hour, the temperature was 109 degrees Fahrenheit and the phone was warm. Now I know the temp would go up, but is is this abnormally high? Is this normal? Do I have anything to be worried about cause I love this app and don't want to stop using it.

I'm trying to obtain the battery temperature, the battery voltage and the battery current. The return value of the code (see below) for voltage and batteryTemperature is always 0 while the others work. I would like to know if there's any other way of obtaining this information and how. Finally, I couldn't find anything in the API for accessing the battery current... Is there any method to know its value? Code...

So I'm on my #3 Captivate now.. and I need to get some other people's experience on these items. First off, my #1 Captivate would get hot while on voice call (lets say 15min), the #2 phone would NOT get hot even after a 30min call. The #2 phone also had the longest lasting battery of the 3 as well. But the phone could not see ANY satellites so back it went. #3 phone - I'm not having the best experience with - I downloaded the BatStat widget to monitor temp and battery percentage.. So I dialed my wife's phone with the battery at 35%, and temp at 36 degrees Am I in the same boat as others with these two issues combined? I will most likely return the phone again tomorrow.

Had my Droid for about 24 hours now and am impressed with the functionality and features, but the lack of phone signal is disappointing so far. I am averaging only about -96 dBm in my home. This is significantly lower than my EVO on Sprint. On the other hand, 3G for data is good - 3-4 bars. What is everyone else averaging for dBM on the phone/voice, is it possible I have a bad unit?

I recently downloaded the speedtest.net app. I want to compare my wifi speeds at home vs. the 3g speeds i get in and around Los Angeles. Obviously I expect my wifi speeds to be higher but what kind of numbers should I be seeing in both cases? What's considered average or acceptable and what is considered great?

Ok so this poll will determine which carrier has more issues with service, like towers down, crappy audio service, crappy devices provided through them, and just how many times do you actually end up calling for issues with your phone or carrier service issues? for example...If your att click on att on the poll and then on the thread type in about twice a month or maybe once in 2 to three month, whatever.

When I was on stock Xperia Gingerbread 2.3.4 on my ST17i, the average image file size I take is only playing around 300 to 600kb each However, after flashing the MiniCMSandwich Lite AOSP rom, the file sizes have been bumped to an average of 1.3mb. I want to know why? As far as I know, on both stock and MiniCMSandwich, I've set the resolution to the highest (5 megapixels).
Is it a matter of the camera apps? (Xperia camera and stock camera).how big your average file sizes are for 5mp of images.

I have an HTC EVO. Today I accidentally left it in my car for about 2 hours in the blistering Florida heat. The phone was fine but I wanted to know if it had a temperature sensor. And if so, how do I find out the internal temperature of the phone?
And what is the temperature threshold before it damages?

Ok, so i got sick of using beautiful widgets weather home widget, but i didn't find another weather widget i liked. So i was playing around with the setting and clicked the show temperature in notification bar. I figured it would go away once i deleted the widget off of the home screen, but nope it stayed, now i've got the temperature over in the left hand corner. Now sure if anyone else has done this but i thought it was pretty cool. Here's a pic so you can see it, it has been updating throughout the day.

I'm using Evil Eris 3.0, but all the dates are in the European format (day/month/year). Is there a way to change that to (month/day/year)? Also, temperatures are reading in Celsius when I would prefer Fahrenheit. Is there a way to change that too?

Can anyone please tell me the name of the app in which you get between a four and seven day forcast as a widget. By that I mean, say for instance the whole week looks like it'll be sunny, the widget will have 4 to 7 suns going across your screen with, I believe, the temperature to each day on the corner of each sun?

I have an idea about using an old phone to tell me the temperature at a remote location. I need to know when a greenhouse or any remote location approaches freezing by sending an alarm to my computer or another Android phone. I thought about something similar to remote GPS locating but getting the temperature data instead of the GPS data. I could just leave my old Android phone in the Greenhouse. I know absolutely nothing about App development, I started to look at the SDK but first I needed to know Java, BASIC is as far as I ever got on a BBC.

I went into the settings and the weather settings is defualted for my zip code. it does show my location and temp. I done understand then why it does not display temp in the dock.

In any of the new 2.2 ROMs is there any way to get TempMonitor and/or SetCPU to read from the CPU temperature sensor yet?
Flash tends to make the phone pretty warm and I'd really like to know how hot the CPU is getting. A failsafe profile in SetCPU is essentially useless if it can't read the CPU temp sensor.
