View 5 RepliesHere is a link to it: unrevoked2 recovery reflash tool, v2.1
Here is there twitter saying what it does: Unrevoked (unrevoked) on Twitter
I was rooted and decided to unroot for giggles. After i did I went to root again and now I am getting this: "E: cant open/cache/recovery,command " When I reboot into recovery mode.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI took unrooted my phone today because I was going to excange it for a new one because of a loose headphone jack but it turns out it was my headphones. I used SMupdater and it went fine. now when I try ot root again I get a "can't open cache/recovery/command" error in recovery and it wont let me select any of the options by hitting the camera button. idk what to do
View 2 Replies View Relatednote before attempting any of this that rooting does void your warranty. I also am not reponsible for any damage that is done to your phone but am more than willing to help you solve a problem in IRC. See my signature on how to get on #ally IRC channel. I do not actually use the Clockwork Recovery (i use drellisdees).
Guide to flashing roms on the LG Ally with screenshots. First off. Make sure your phone is rooted. If your phone is not rooted see the following options.
Option 1a: Universal 1 click root. (easy way) Universal Androot Beta
1b: z4root 1 click root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
2: Original Root Method (harder way) How to "root" the LG Ally.........
I hit the top button. Flash Clockworkmod recovery or what ever it said. I then backed up my Current ROM. I then downloaded Cyanogen v6.0.0 cr2. It downloaded and rebooted my phone. But It went to a screen with a Triangle w/ exclamation and a phone under it. I then hit the up vol button and camera, and now I'm at the Android system recovery page and I don't know what to do next. These are my options reboot system now apply sdcard:update.zip wipe data/factory rest wipe cache partition wipe base band data. I did click to backup current ROM and wipe data and cache.
View 38 Replies View Relatedok, so I put the PB31IMG file on my sdcard, and the dinc_ota. I changed dinc_ota to update. (I did not name the file update.zip.zip) I powered down, I entered bootloader, and it loaded the PB31IMG and whatever. then I hit volume down and selected recovery. this brought me to clockwork recovery. I noticed the isntructions said to boot into STOCK recovery. well, I like a dummy ignored that and tried to apply the update.zip thru clockwork.
This is what I got:
CODE:.......................
So, is this because I tried doing it through clockwork recovery? is it because I didn't apply the first OTA update we got? what does that mean exactly anyways? is it saying I need to install the leaked froyo ROM, and then update the radio? How do I boot into stock recovery and not clockworks recovery? does this count as applying the update.zip once, meening if I do it again I'll brick my phone? should I sell this thing and get a samsung flip phone because I'm too stupid to own a Dinc?
First off let me say that I was wrong about this issue. Its not an issue with Easy root it is just something built into android. So I apologize to anyone I argued this subject with but specifically Patch. Its also not an issue with rom manager. This applys to users that after flashing a custom recovery they can boot into it once but the next time you try to boot into recovery it has reverted to stock.
This mostly happens to users of easy root or users that use my guide for rooting using Linux
So for the fix.
Download this file and place it in the root of your sd card.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7223192/install-recovery.sh
Download Terminal Emulator from the market. The one by the dev Jack Palevich.
Open it and type the following commands.
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
dd if=/sdcard/install-recovery.sh of=/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
chmod 550 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
sync
after that just flash the custom recovery of your choice and you should be good to go.
I tested this on my phone and another user tested it for me and it worked for both of us. If anyone has an issue let me know. This issue is so sporadic that its hard to have people test the fix.

Easiest method to have this recovery for a rooted phone is below.
1.Install mobile uncle tools from Play Store.
2. Place the recovery.img provided in root of SD card.( Rename the recovery file as simply RECOVERY.IMG)
3. open mobile uncle tools and flash the recovery.
The other ways may be followed from this link of Dextrorototrix

Full credit for this Recovery goes to Yuweng who created the auto tool CWM Magic Create [URL] found in this link [URL], and Carliv who created the recovery that made it so easy to port to new devices, Napster who shared his touch source with Carliv, and of course the original creator of CWM - Kouch. It took many hours of hard work to get us to where we are today.
is there anyway to compile cwm on windows i have cygwin installed

Just rooted yesterday, and everything was running great... untill I installed Simply Stunning v4.3. I went to make a back up and found that I cannot access my recovery, it was stuck at the M. Now Rom Manager says that if this happens, flash a different recovery then flash clockwork back. Here is the catch- When I try to flash a different recovery I get this, "An error occurred while flashing your recovery."

View 1 Replies View RelatedI turned my phone on right around 7AM this morning with 100% battery. Got the notice that an update was available for the Facebook app, installed that and did nothing else with my phone. Screen off and in my pocket.
Got to work, next time I turned my screen on around 8:15 I saw that my battery was already at 81%! Checked status and my up time and awake time were the same.
Only change I made was the Facebook app, so went to my accounts and synch settings. There were two FB listings in there, one normal and one for Sense. The Sense one had options to change synch, the plain FB didn't have any options to change.
Deleted Facebook and everything is working fine now, phones going to sleep when it should. So looks like something is messed up with the Facebook app newest update.
Go directly after seeing your home screen to the market. Agree to the T&C and then hit my downloads the entire list of your previous programs will be there. Dont leave that screen till you have downloaded all your previous programmers. And I was worried I'd miss something!
Upgrade worked a treat.
I have old version of my app installed in the G1, and then I copy the apk file of new version to the SD card. When I install the new version from SD card, it raises a error: 07-08 22:11:05.396: DEBUG/(1748): unable to unlink '/data/data/ com.android.packageinstaller/files/myapp.apk': No such file or directory (errno=2) btw: I do not want to uninstall the app, I just want to update the app when I install the new version of app.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI hear that there was an update for facebook yesterday? so what is the latest version? is it still 1.1.2? the reason i ask is because im wondering if there is a way i can get facebook notifications to appear on my droids notification bar? I want to know if i need to download the other facebook clients like blabber or not. I saw something on Droudforums.net about checking a box for android for facebook under notification settings on the facebook main page, but that didnt help me at all.!
View 16 Replies View RelatedThe Facebook downright sucks. It's a poor implementation... often get errors when trying to post a comment. And having pics and notification links just link you to the web version is quite lame. WHEN can we expect a refresh of the Facebook app?
View 32 Replies View RelatedFYI nothing groundbreaking but it has places and groups added but what i like most is that YOU CAN NOW REPLY TO YOUR NOTIFICATIONS INSIDE THE APP!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have previously accepted the 2.1 update with DroidMod 1.0 and then blocked it at recovery. on the day it was first sent to my phone which was weeks ago.I just got another notification about it now. Anyone else getting the 2.1 notification update again with DM 1.0?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I flashed the 2.2 ROM the other day, setup was not able to disable perflock, so it was not working. Just got a notification of an update from the market and it now seems to be working with 2.2. Just letting people know. If this was an isolated issue and setup was still working for you, disregard.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI played around with Tasker back when I first got the Incredible, and it was really neat, but I didn't buy it since the Mobile Data Off setting wasn't working for CDMA phones. It was recently updated and this ability was supposed to be live now, but it still doesn't seem to work for me.I work in a very shielded building so when my phone senses the wifi network I want it to turn the mobile data connection off to prevent signal searching and associated drain.Anyone else have any luck w/ this? It's an awesome app w/ a lot of control, but this not working just leaves me using Timeriffic instead.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed this after I updated to 2.0.1. My keyboard backlight now either says on in low light conditions even if you don't press a key until the screen times out or stays off in bright light conditions even if you press a buttion on the keyboard itself it does not come on.
This plus lock screen 5 sec. time out equals uber battery saving mode!1!11!
I updated to 60667 and my evdo speeds are terrible. How do I go back to the previous one?
View 28 Replies View RelatedI would like to know how to intercept the event that the apk has been updated in order to launch again my Timer. Indeed, I have a Timer wich is "scheduled AtFixedRate", but when my App is updated through the market, the timer is killed ; and if the user doesn't launch the App, the timer is not started (so my app becomes useless). How could I do to avoid it ? Is there an event to catch the "App updated" ? I searched, tried, but nothing.
