I have previously accepted the 2.1 update with DroidMod 1.0 and then blocked it at recovery. on the day it was first sent to my phone which was weeks ago.I just got another notification about it now. Anyone else getting the 2.1 notification update again with DM 1.0?

I noticed this after I updated to 2.0.1. My keyboard backlight now either says on in low light conditions even if you don't press a key until the screen times out or stays off in bright light conditions even if you press a buttion on the keyboard itself it does not come on.
This plus lock screen 5 sec. time out equals uber battery saving mode!1!11!
This was in the Android Forum News, but I wanted to link it here. For those who have received the OTA and/or forced the update, apparently, the update has caused the DROID to experience performance problems, particularly in the area of 2D apps. Do not try to SBF back to 2.1 if you did the OTA 2.2 update. It will brick your phone completely. New bootloader version is 30.03. I tried to SBF back to 2.1 after doing to OTA 2.2 update and you cant. RSD finishes the SBF, but when the phone is suppose to reboot it wont. Instead you get an error "Err:A5,70,70,00,1F" on the bootloader. Won't let you boot to recovery or nothing. Just boots to bootloader. So Im bricked till theres a fix..

i still have the ninja, but no root. what happened? i tried factory reset, but he's still there. any ideas on what i should do? i want to make sure i'm squeaky clean with the new rom.
Check the market for the update. You can now get rid of the status bar icon, set it so homescreen doesn't unlock, and set it so it doesn't revert to default lockscreen.

Because i absoultely hate the new update the only thing that is good about it is the Flash and i wanna root my moto driod 2.2 . But my freind says there is no way to do it because if he did he would on his Sprint HTC Evo and they haven't came out with it yet. So am i wondering am i stuck with this dreadful 2.2 or can i root.

View 20 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having this problem? I force updated to 2.01 and all is well except for my Verizon.net email account wont sync. In settings/accounts.sync I get a sync error message under my Verizon account and a red sync circle. I get an error message at the bottom.of the screen saying- Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly. My Gmail account shows no error. I have had this error since updating to 2.01. Previously my Verizon account had no sync errors.Anybody else getting this error?

Interesting that only when I had to change password before it blew up.

I just checked on my home computer and it's still there, however why doesn't it appear on my phone? I even went to the Google doc website on my phone and every document was blank. I tried restoring w/ titanium and didn't have any luck with that. I tried opening the application and clearing data, however after reassigning my accounts I still had blank documents. The title of all 15 documents shows up, but it's all blank

Currently, I have it set up to send me an e-mail to notify me, but I'm getting the Google voice notification before the e-mail notification. It's doing this on both my voice mail and my text messaging. Hopefully this isn't some fluke, because the update says nothing about push notifications.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo really early along on my DX and am pretty sure I'm using the first leak still. My phone constantly locks up/overheats and I have to battery pull to get it working again. I would like to get the most updated Froyo which hopefully doesn't lock me up anymore and also root it again.
What is the best way to do this without actually knowing which version of Froyo I am using? I don't mind losing all of my data and starting over, but the locking up is just becoming way to frequent. I have it in my head that if I flash back to 2.1 stock and do the OTA, then do the root again it would be much smoother. Am I on the right track? I really stepped away from the root scene for a while after I rooted mine so I am lost.
SO the first time I rooted and the first update I did gave me some problems. When the phone rebooted after the flash the Moto symbol would come up and not go any further. Either that or the symbol would show up and then the phone would reset after five seconds. So I did a few battery pulls and finally got it to work after a while. Ever since the 2.0.4 update I cannot get the phone past the Moto screen. I've tried about 12 times between that and 2.0.5 and I have to keep restoring back to my original settings before I flashed any of the ROMs. Anyone know why this is happening? I loved my phone so much more when I had the Smoked Glass 2.1 ROM and OC.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI just updated to 2.2 froyo yesterday and now when I try to download any app it starts and goes straight to saying download unsuccessful! Is this an issue with 2.2? What can I do to resolve this? It sucks a little extra because I just uninstalled my launcherpro plus because it was being glitchy with 2.2 and as I went to reinstall it like the dev told me to I found out I could no longer download apps. I can't even navigate the orginal home screen because of how use to launcherproI was.

I haven't seen any other posts discussing this as an issue. Anyone know why this happened? Did the update for TBH include a new build.prop that disabled this feature? Speaking of build.props I also still have 2.3.9 showing as my system version? Is there any way to know for sure you're on .15?

I didn't do an OTA update, i followed a website that was for VZW which is my carrier and said it was the same update. No custom roms or any custom software....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried running the ported HTC music app from xda yesterday on my BB v4 and got FC's. I'd love to have this on my phone since it plays genre's. Anybody have any success with this or have an updated version ready for froyo? Also, is there a way to get the CyanogenMod volume up/down music controls when the screen is off onto BB v4? It's really the only thing that I miss. I don't know the "rules" of ROM's sharing, etc. certain scripts or whatever.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just finished the update to 2.1, and all went well. But when I went to look at my gallery, it downloaded and is showing all of my Picasa pictures! It never did this before, and I can't seem to find a settings menu to make it not do this! I would go ahead and delete the folders it added from Picasa, but before I do this, I want to make sure that it's not going to delete them on my Picasaweb account too.
Did anyone else have this problem? Will deleting the Picasa pics that showed up on my phone make the ones on my online account go away?

Similar to syncing for contacts and email, thumbnails of synced photos are transferred wirelessly, so there's no need to plug your phone into your computer. You can add and select the Google accounts associated with the Picasa photos you want to sync with the Gallery in the "Accounts & sync" tab under Settings. Click on an account and mark the checkbox next to "Sync Picasa Web Albums" to automatically pull your online photos into the Gallery.
It still would have been nice if this were an opt-in thing, but at least I can turn it off...

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt took 2 days to be shipped but I got it today, a refurb after calling VZW 611 Tech. Line. I had the silent bug issue. Right away the phone was ready for the 2.1 OTA update. I updated, and so far so good, no silent bug issues, and the phone seems to be operating with no issues so far.
