I had Launcher pro on there , but as much as a liked it , it wasn't as snappy as id liked it too be . But now that i have gone back to sense , hitting home restarts sense reloading all of my widgets for about 20-30 sec.

Whenever I am on my home screen for more than a couple of seconds, the green HTC shows up then I get the loading pop up while my widgets load. then if it stays there for a while again it keeps doing it.

The Game's onCreate(), I make a new GameView, which makes a new GameThread, where all the game logic and canvas drawing is carried out. However, I'm having some lifecycle difficulties. When I press back and restart it, it works fine, but when I press home and restart it, all I see is a blank screen. I want my application to resume what it is doing regardless of where I press the icon (Home screen, app picker, or running apps). Right now if my app is in the background and I press the icon on the home screen, the app restarts with my Main Activity. Once here, if I press the back button the app resumes from the activity it left off before it was put in the background. If it's running in the background and I hold the home button and select my app from the current running apps, it resumes correctly. How do I avoid my app from going to my Main activity when it is selected from the Home screen or app picker? I have tried adding the following in my Manifest XML file, but it doesn't help: <activity android:name=".Main" android:launchMode="singleTask" android:alwaysRetainTaskState="true" android: label= "@ string /app_name">
View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Panda so the I can use a theme it works with. It works fine and I am always giving a chance to use Panda or HTC Sense when I hit the home key. This is a pain so I opted to use the HTC Sense as default. But I can't see where it allows me to use the Panda again. I can't figure out how to get those 2 choices back. Except for deleting Panda and reinstalling it. Am I missing something? And is there a way to flip between the choices another way?

Right now, each time I click to go back to Home, I get the pop-up to choose ADW or HTC Sense, and if I want it to be my default launcher. I haven't chosen either as my default because I don't know how to switch back if I get tired of one of them. Like, say I get tired of ADW. How do I switch back to HTC Sense as my default home without uninstalling ADW?Also, I miss my Digital Clock and weather widget. Are there anything other than the ADW clock and weather widget/shortcuts available?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just installed Launcher Pro Beta, and am trying to "flavor" up my EVO. I really used the stock sense widgets that toggled 4g, wifi, BT, etc, but am unable to find them with the new home launcher. Am i unable to use the previously installed default widgets with this launcher/home? How about the default weather/clock combo, i can't seem to find a way to add it either. I liked the simple look of the Launcher Pro icons along the bottom, that's all i really wanted changed.
EDIT - Found it, will need Beautiful Widgets or something similar
I want my phone to have the capability of rotating the home screen for landscape use in my car mount. But I do not want to go to another home screen replacement app, I want to keep Sense UI.Does anyone know of a ROM that will allow for this?

So if it is out there then I am sorry for the repetitive post.I just updated to 2.1, and can't figure out how to switch to the Home instead of HTC Sense Home? Anyone out there know how to do this? Before on 1.5 OS, all I had to do was hold down the "Home" button to display my most recent 6 apps, then hit the button again to pick if I wanted "Home" or "HTC Sense".Now, that does not work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI had to delete all of my HTC SenseUI home screen customizations (wallpaper and icons) today. I accidentally caused the problem myself, though I think Sense could have been more clever about stopping me. What happened was that I saw a new notification "Ringtone App downloaded." I had not downloaded it, and my son had just been playing with the phone, so I figured he must have done it. I deleted the application, and the phone warned me that it would "reset my icon on the home screen" or something like that. I blithely said OK and deleted the thing. Then, when I went back to the home screen I got the message "The Application HTC Sense (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly." The only option available was "Force Close," and soon as that was pressed the message would appear again.
I was able to get out of it by following the instructions at this HTC Desire page . Now my phone is fine again, but I need to repopulate my 7 home screens.
Two questions:
(1) Why did the Notifications bar tell me this app had been downloaded? My son later said he had not done so. Could it have been an automatic update by HTC?
(2) Am I now missing some sort of Android or HTC ringtone app? I don't normally use ringtones other than the built-in ones but it would be nice to know whether I deleted a standard-issue app and how to get it back if desired.
can i run the HOME setup with all the nexus sweetness (weather/news app, maybe some icons...) and still be able to switch back to my SENSE the way I have it set up now when I want (just by going into applications and switching out the defaults between SENSE and HOME) without having to flash, reboot, etc.?

I currently have this set as my default home, so I just pull up taskiller to kill off sense and free up some memory. Even though I kill sense off with taskiller I see that sense has started back up every once and awhile and was wondering both why it starts back up and whether there is a way to stop it from doing so? Also, will killing sense like this lead to any problems down the road?

This is referring to the homescreen and the default home is what the defualt android home screen looks like and HTC sence is what i need. I clicked on the Defualt home and now my home screen looks different. How do i get that option to pop up again so I can choose HTC sence?
This is an issue I've been having. I can be in any of a number of apps, and when I hit 'home' or back out of it, 20% of the time I get the white HTC evo screen and then it will redraw as if i had rebooted.I'm currently backing up in anticipating of doing a factory reset to see if that helps, but would love to avoid the hassle if I can figure out whats causing this beforehand.

I've read that s ome have turned off Sense and have seen an improvement in performance and battery life running vanilla ANDROID.
If one uses Home Switcher does that accomplish the same thing, or is Sense still running in the background?
When i use Home Switcher to switch homes (htc Sense and Launcher Pro) when i go to the app and click use sense as default when i press the home key it still goes back to launcher pro..so when i use sense i need to try to not press home which is annoying! Also i have hand cent sms and i get a double notification. for some reason when i go to messages>menu>settings n go to unchecked received notifications i still for some reason get notifications from the stock. I even went to make sure its unchecked and it is!

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I'm running android 2.1 on my Sprint Hero, but I want to disable the Sense UI so I can run the Android OS default home (just to check it out). Most of the things I've read online say to do the following...
1)settings
2)applications
3)manage applications
4)HTC Sense
5) Clear default
The only problem is, there is no default to clear. I can't even click on it and force close does not work.
The past two days my INC has randomly restarted itself. Any ideas as to why? I just got the thing Saturday and of course downloaded a ton of apps, but that had never happened. I think the first time it happened was yesterday. Only app I recently downloaded that may be causing the problem is Toggle Settings. Has there been mention of that causing problems at all?
