How can I remove the 2nd one with all the Sprint stuff and make it apps that I download? Right now it appears to be some music player and other apps.

If I install hydra kernel does it remove all my apps and stuff or does it just update the kernel? Would love to have an undervolted, overclocked kernel.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I want to upgrade my Droid from the older 2.0.1 build of Pete's Bugless Beast ROM (1.2) to the newer ESE53 based 0.8 version. What I want to know is how to keep all of my data and apps and stuff when I make the upgrade, because according to his instructions you have to use his nandroid backup to go from the older 1.2 BB to the new 0.8 BB. I tried following his instructions once before, and while I was able to successfully upgrade to the newer ROM, I lost all of my apps and data and ended up just restoring from one of my own nandroid backups back to 1.2.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem for the last few hours where my Hero refuses to download anything without a WiFi connection. I've been messing with it and it seems like my mobile network isn't connecting correctly. I had to power down the phone earlier because it froze to black screen and I couldn't escape out of it and ever since then its been problematic. My Mobile network icon says "standby for connecting to mobile network" I'm not sure if thats bad or good, never actually looked at it. Any help or am I gonna want to do a factory reset?

I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?

Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
I connect to my works Exchange server using EAS (I think, it was the default) and it syncs with my mail automagically as stuff comes in. I'd really like to find a way to automatically delete stuff on the Hero as I delete stuff on the exchange server. Is there a way to do this without involving another program?

View 34 Replies View RelatedI've tried ShadowRom and CM6 and love both but it's far too buggy for me right now. On SR I would have 5-6 reboots a day which I can't bear. With CM6 it's down to 1-2 reboots a day but sometimes my phone will completely cut off and not reboot at all and I won't know that it's off until I go to wake it up. I also have had voicemails and missed calls that I haven't been notified of and the missed calls won't even show up in the call log later. I only know they are missed when friends tell me they called me three times in a row with no answer. Lastly the battery life is killing me on CM6. I've never drained my 2150 battery before and everybody for the past week I've had CM6 the battery had died with display as the main cause. So I've finally decided I just need to go back to Stock 2.2 and install LauncherPro. So my question is, I know how to remove some of the crapware but what other things can I remove that are Sense related from the stock rom that won't compromise the phone in any way but that will make it run faster and smoother? Is there a tutorial for this somewhere?

They love playing the papijump and furiburd apps though so it makes it difficult for us to keep anything on the phone. with her blackberry she can create hidden folders. However, I have noticed with fresh 2.3.3 that there is a lot of junk on there that I don't want or need, like "coin," "battery," "Dice," etc. Since these are system apps I can't remove them through the uninstall app. Does anyone have any idea of which of these sense apps are safe to remove through adb and which are not?

Seems i've come across a new problem that's just started with my phone. I can't seem to save images from the net to my phone. It used to work but now it doesn't seem to be allowing me to be able to. After resetting my apps won't download. They just stay in 'starting download'...hanging. Any ideas?
Everything else is fine as far as I can tell....Oh other than my keyboard sometimes produces an abnormal sound when hitting a key. Call me picky but it's starting to get on my nerves. That's something that did not go away with the reset.

My question is, is there a way to avoid having to re-download all of my apps when I flash a new ROM?
With a lot of apps eg, camera, pictures appears in the gallery immediately, but some apps like Dropbox or blackmoon Attachsave, if you put a picture or MP3 or whatever on the card, they can not appear for ages.
One way on my Galaxy Apollo is to plug in USB and go into storage mode, it then scans the disk (A little icon in the status bar) and the media is now there.
A more extreme way is to unmount the card and then physically remove it and re-insert (I dont have to remove the battery) and it sets off a scan.
Is there anyway to trigger a media scan from within android to make it quicker for stuff to appear?
That I can download to interact with other android users.
