I just got my captivate today. is there a way to make fonts and stuff smaller, and change the threaded text message format to something besides bubbles?

1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.
I am trying to install a sound file from a soundboard into my notification tone now when i do this it will only take place for e-mail while the text message stays default. This even occurs when i actually go into the settings and manually change the notification tone. the change will reflect for the e-mail but not texts

View 5 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago i noticed my phone was silent, which is pretty unusual.I decided to check and see if i had any messages, hit the power button, and saw no little message icon waiting for me. I figured no one had texted me so i moved on. About a half hour later i checked again only this time went in to the messages app thingie and had three unread messages, all of which had come up within the last thirty minutes.Ive been checking it more often now and it does vibrate, but the little icon doesnt stay up long/at all. Any idea what im doing wrong? Its getting kinda annoying not knowing if i have a message or something.

If anyone out there know a downloadable link for a good one please post it. Moderators I don't know if u want to make a sticky for post about finding wallpapers, ringtones and downloadable stuff but it'll help rather than having a bunch of noob androids like myself posting new topics everyday. im a galaxy s2 gt-i9100 user and how do i make my status bar thinner as it is taking up a bit of space?? Do i decompile systemui.apk or seclauncher2.apk? And what line is it to edit? I do not want to change my lcd density as touchwiz becomes weird and i do not want to install a 3rd party launcher.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI was looking at the Captivate and the iphone4 in store today and when comparing the same web pages in full page view the text on the Captivate was much smaller than the iphone4, even though the iphone screen is smaller. Zoom just made everything bigger so it wasn't in full page anymore. Is there a way to make the text bigger while in full page view? On a side note, that iphone4 screen is super sharp for text and the whites were much whiter vs the blueish tint on the Captivate.

How would I change those icons with different icons? Mainly the email and browser. How do I turn off or at least severly limit the data that goes to and from my phone. I do not have wireless and am just a bit paranoid about going over my data limit. I got the phone from work and this is my first smartphone so I am a bit nervous about anything I do on it.

If it does format, is there a good app to backup my apps and such (would Titanium help or does that do a full restore including the OS?).
Also, does anyone know a good app to backup/restore/transfer SMS? At the AT&T store, they transfered all my texts from my BB to this phone in a couple minutes but forgot to ask what they used for it.
