View 35 RepliesIs is possible to remove the call feature from a phone, leave the MMS/SMS and Data modes? Basically I have a couple of older gen phones which are pretty crap for anything but media purposes, I use them whilst training or at an OP in Afghan. I just throw my headphones on if im running, as if I drop them.. I dont mind much.
Id like it if I could whack my sim in one, but remove the call function for OPSEC purposes. Still remain useful for SMS and Data(internet) usage whilst im away or even home. I've done this with certain devices (Wildfire, this was only used for Beats and Net, I removed the SMS and call function)
Any good games on the market place? What are people's favorite games to play on the desire.and I'm not really talking including emulators, just android games from the market.

Aside from the screen and speed, for me it might have to be the file sharing appplication (as seen in the mobileburn video review pt.3)...I have gotten so sick of having to email pictures I take to my computer, so just being able to send em through the app over.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is phone-specific. I have a Sprint HTC Hero. When I press the phone button, I get the call log, and then I can click over to Favorites to get my most-used contacts. It would be perfect if when I click on the phone button, it would default to my favorites instead of the call log. Is this possible?

Lately, I've been hooked on:Spider Man (by DroidHen)
Abduction! World Attack (by Psym Mobile)
What about you??
After the update when i hit the phone icon, the "favorites" icon used to be at the bottom right after the green call tab. now there is an icon for call history.
i cannot for the life of me get it back. verizon says it was lost after the upgrade. i put the "people" icon on my now when i need to call a friend who is on my "favorite" list, i hit that icon, it brings me to all contacts and at the bottom i then have to depress favorites which brings up groups, then hit favorites. like 4 steps to make a phone call?
anybody figure out how to get the favorite icon back on the phone screen?
what is that one feature that wows you on the EVO so far? I know it's hard to pick just one. For me the Google Navigation with the Street View integration just does it. Simply amazing. Post yours.
View 26 Replies View RelatedDon't know if this has been mentioned but the Evo has more of an iPhone style cut and paste now! My Hero running 2.1 didn't.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo in an effort to save money over the long-run Im planning on switching to a feature phone within the next week or so. So my question is; If you had to get rid of your Eris (God forbid) What phone would you get?Btw Im staying on the Verizon Network and would like a phone that has a full keyboard and a decent camera.

I would like you guys to suggest to me the cheapest handset that I can accomplish such a feature with? Whether the phone comes with the application to do it or it can be done via alternate methods [root].
View 5 Replies View RelatedAll laptops should work, but what about other devices?
iPad - ok
PSP Go - It works I messed up. This is good news to me since it didn't work with my old iPhone and Palm Pre.
PS3- Works great too!
there is no internal phone search! This seems really strange to me for a phone that has the Google branding. So they?re just for the internet and nothing else!? As a long-time Palm user, this was something that I used very regulary and I was surprised to find this feature missing ? it seems like it should be standard. Every computer/laptop has it in the form of either the Finder or Start/Search and a lot phones have it too. Anybody heard anything adding this one or anthing else relating to it? Or can you do this after you root?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am going to be doing some international traveling and my first destination is Shanghai, China. Questions are as follows:
1. Will my droid 1 work internationally?
2. Is there a way to disable the phone feature and only use text?
3. If I text, will there be any additional fees?
4. If I do take a call, how much would it be?
5. If I use skype on wifi, will it work or cost me anything?
6. If I do disable the phone feature, will skype and text messaging work?
7. Will my email still check over 3G or whatever signal? Is there additional fees for this?
I had the proximity sensor problem which was fixed after firmware update/blowing on the sensor. However, now neither the flip to silence the phone on an incoming call feature (the setting is on) OR the flip to activate the speakerphone when in a call now works. The flip to silence the phone on an incoming call was working before the firmware update.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyone sharing my problem? Almost every morning when I check my phone it has turned of the "phone feature" by it self, and by phone feature I mean the way to be able to make or recieve a phone call. When I turn on the display, mini pro ask me for the PIN-number and when I give it that, then everything works fine again... until next morning.I don't know when during the night this happen...
View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving an issue where anytime I try to add a new contact manually for a new phone number or create it using the "create new contact" feature via an old text message by that phone number's owner, my phone automatically deletes it within seconds. This happens only when the sync settings under settings-->accounts & sync-->background information are enabled. The new contact gets deleted regardless whether I add the new contact BEFORE enabling sync or whether I add it WHILE sync is enabled.
Phone's flashed on Gingerbread.
A couple of times today I have taken the Hero out of my pocket to find that it is unlocked and doing something (first time it tried to send an SMS to a black number and then it had loaded the browser) which is weird because I didn't think it would be able to use the touch screen while in my pocket.I'm guessing that it managed to unlock itself by pressing the menu button twice while in my pocket, but this does seem unlikely - anyway I activated the unlock pattern and it hasn't done it since, so my question is it possible to disable the ability to double-press menu to unlock it? (It's rooted if that makes it possible). It's always possible that I just didn't lock the phone either of those times, but that seems more unlikely. Has anyone else noticed this problem?
View 33 Replies View RelatedIt's hard to believe that Android would be lacking the following features from its own creator:
-remote wipe
-backup
-file/photos sync
-lost phone tracking
-"itunes" sync
Just wondering if Google mentioned they would be making one.
I'm searching for android phones that can use video out to the tv for a research project. I'm considering the HTC Touch Pro.
Is there anything I have to do specifically to get the video out to work (for displaying my app on the tv)? or will the phone just display a running app on the tv without extra work?
Since I got my Dinc back in June I have pretty much used AppBrain exclusively to install apps. If you know AppBrain, you know that your account automatically makes and saves a list of the apps you load. And you can sync this list with your phone to keep both current. It is also like a backup incase something happens to the apps on your phone. Well yesterday I was clicking my mouse faster than I was thinking and I deleted my "Apps on Phone" list from the AppBrain website. So my question is...If I run the "Sync with AppBrain" feature from my phone will it recreate the deleted "Apps on Phone" list on AppBrain or will it delete the apps from my phone
