Sep 10, 2009Does anyone recommend any of the password manager/keepers that are on the market? I have over 75 passwords that I need to keep with me at all times. Blackberry's Password Keeper worked great and was really secure.

Nov 10, 2009I had a Win Mobile phone prior to the Droid. I had Ilium EWallet and Listpro. So I'm looking for replacements. Listpro could make multiple lists and within that list I could check mark things without it actually deleting the line. Such as I had a book list going for my mom. I would have books she wanted me to pick up for her flagged and one color. Then once I got the book I would check mark it. Once it was no longer flagged and it was checked marked then it would sort but the books I still wanted first then what I had last. Then I also made the ones she actually had read a different color so I could keep everything straight as what to get her. (I hope I'm making sense here).
So I need a list program that is very detailed like this. I tried SplashID for lists but could not get it to download onto the Droid itself. This would have been perfect as it also has a desktop program you can type everything in and then just sync to the phone. The would be perfect. Then I had Ewallet which is a password, bank info, credit card, etc information that you could put in it to remember all your passwords and such. I have not found anything like a password keeper for the Droid. Does anyone know if either of these programs exsists, hopefully free but willing to pay if I have to? Or has anyone heard if someone is making a program like these for the Android platform?

Sep 16, 2010I've just got the x10 last week and was wondering which messenger app was good to use. I know BBM won't work outside of blackberry phones, so I went around searching what apps would work. I've found stuff like PingChat!, Kik, WhatsApp, TextOne...can you guys give me some advice as to which one is the most user-friendly and uses the least data? (I'm on a limited data plan). My main desire for a messenger app on the android is to send msgs to my friends internationally without paying for international text messaging! Please give me your opinions!

Mar 3, 2010I have had this same problem happen twice to me on 2 different phones on 2 different Verizon accounts!
The password screen locks and when it asks for the user name and password it states invalid user name / password!
Is this a known problem since when I called and talked to both Verizon and HTC the only thing they could tell me was to do a hard reset and they weren't aware of this problem?

I was wondering if now that I have root there is a way to install a boot password similar to the one I have on my computer. Before it loads the operating system, the BIOS asks for a password. Is there any similar functionality for android?
Also, is this possible on other devices even if it is not on mine? It's one of my favorite laymen security measures.

May 18, 2010I was hoping to get some of your opinions regarding a decision I have to make. My Sprint upgrade has come and passed,and I am really hoping to get a new phone in the next few months.I currently have a Blackberry Curve 8330,and it's my first smartphone and it's been pretty wonderful, although I do notice it's slow sometimes.For my next phone,I was considering the EVO or the Blackberry Slider (9800) that's supposedly coming to Sprint in the Fall. The main problem I have is that I can't compare my experience with the BB to anything, so I can't really speak to how good it is, etc.Everything about the EVO sounds good, but I'm just worried what exactly I'll be missing leaving Blackberry.Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not even sure how email is handled on any other phone besides a Blackberry.I lurked on some BB forums and they all talk about how great the Blackberry "push" messaging system is, but would the EVO/android/Sense UI provide a similar experience?

Sep 26, 2010So, I'm currently a BlackBerry (9700, for the record) user, seriously considering switching to an android device. I'm sure everyone here can account for the various ways an android phone is superior to a BlackBerry, and I'm pretty familiar with them. What's been holding me back though, are the minor productivity tweaks a BlackBerry provides that seemingly don't have a match on android devices. Am I wrong on these? Have others made the jump and found no difference? Specifically: Dedicated hotkeys of sorts -- I'm a pretty heavy business user, so I make ridiculously extensive use of my calendar/scheduler. No matter what I'm doing at the moment, I'm able to jump to my calendar with a single button press and see my entire week's worth of appointments. If I need to add something, I can schedule an appointment in under 5 seconds all the way through. To be honest, that's probably the only hotkey I use, but the ability to do this in an instant no matter what's in my way is rather important for me -- are there any equivalents on android phones? Through my research I've noticed a lack of hardware hotkeys. Is there any software solution that could at least compare?.....

Nov 7, 2009I am looking to hear from those who switched from Blackberry to Android. What are your comments, what are the things you miss most or you are completely happy with no regrets. I saw the e-mail client on Android, it is just like gmail, which is OK, but where does it store e-mails, Blackberry had a problem of not being able to store e-mails on external memory, therefore it took up space on device storage. But I loved its address book and the sync options. I know everything else is superior to blackberry but the most important thing for me is the e-mail and connectivity/sync. Otherwise I will wait for the newer WM phone that will be coming out on T-Mobile (HD2 I think) as I know WM has a very good e-mail client.
