View 1 Replies View RelatedThere isn't a "Social Network" option in 1.6, and I was wondering if there was any way to connect my Facebook friends to my contacts to get their photos. Either through a 3rd party app or some different setting that I don't know about.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been looking for months now, for a way of running the blackberry software on the X1. Its a hot topic around the forums and over on XDA developers, but no one has been able to explain if this is possible for sure. I have the standard ROM that came with the phone, and am with Vodafone. There has been talk of it working, and there has been talk of it not. I have heard that it can run on some HTC models, which leads me to beleive it should also be possible (some how) on the X1.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently came over from using a Blackberry (and using the Blackberry Messenger app), and I am wondering what you all might suggest as an easy way to briefly send quick messages (not using SMS or email) that would be easy to set up on my end and for my Blackberry friends.Currently I do not have any chat systems or instant messaging systems set up (as never used any of that before), so I am hoping you can make your suggestions very simple to understand and set up. I'm somewhat new to all this technology, but I am anxious to learn.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if there is an app that tracks friends by GPS? For example, you enter their number and it shows location on a map.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there an app where you and your friends can add each other and see each others locations via gps? I just thought it would be a cool idea, i didnt know if such a thing existed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do I distribute my app to some friends who have G1s (yea, I'm looking at you, Scott!) for QA testing and feedback? My app certainly isn't ready to be put into any of the marketplaces. I don't have a problem giving out the source code, but I'd prefer to give him a nice binary file to install. Besides, I can see problems with keystore.debug and compiling and the like.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I add new friends on facebook or put new contacts in my phone, I can't link them because we weren't friends when I installed the app. I've tried re-syncing facebook for HTC sense, and tried uninstalling it (it won't let me uninstall for some reason)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently made the switch from windows phone 8 to the HTC One and I am really missing the people hub or groups feature of windows phone. It allowed me to put some of my contacts into groups. For example, I had 2 groups, 1 for family and 1 for friends. In these groups, it collected all the facebook, twitter, and other social feeds of those people and put them all together.
I really liked this feature because I could easily look at filtered social feeds for certain people without having to flip through each app separately. I often saw posts/tweets that I would have otherwise missed.
Is there a similar app or feature on Android that would give me this functionality? I have yet to find it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are certain facebook friends that you could give a sh** about their senseless status updates and photo updates every five seconds. Right? Like friends girlfriends, chicks you hooked up with years ago, etc, that if you delete they will talk a bunch of trash about. So, my issue is: is there a way to have android ger updates from facebook and give notifications, but disable updating certain friends? or vice versa, choose a list of friends to update only. i have a Verizon Droid eris, stock 1.5 with Sense UI

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo, I'm currently a BlackBerry (9700, for the record) user, seriously considering switching to an android device. I'm sure everyone here can account for the various ways an android phone is superior to a BlackBerry, and I'm pretty familiar with them. What's been holding me back though, are the minor productivity tweaks a BlackBerry provides that seemingly don't have a match on android devices. Am I wrong on these? Have others made the jump and found no difference? Specifically: Dedicated hotkeys of sorts -- I'm a pretty heavy business user, so I make ridiculously extensive use of my calendar/scheduler. No matter what I'm doing at the moment, I'm able to jump to my calendar with a single button press and see my entire week's worth of appointments. If I need to add something, I can schedule an appointment in under 5 seconds all the way through. To be honest, that's probably the only hotkey I use, but the ability to do this in an instant no matter what's in my way is rather important for me -- are there any equivalents on android phones? Through my research I've noticed a lack of hardware hotkeys. Is there any software solution that could at least compare?.....
View 16 Replies View RelatedI am looking to hear from those who switched from Blackberry to Android. What are your comments, what are the things you miss most or you are completely happy with no regrets. I saw the e-mail client on Android, it is just like gmail, which is OK, but where does it store e-mails, Blackberry had a problem of not being able to store e-mails on external memory, therefore it took up space on device storage. But I loved its address book and the sync options. I know everything else is superior to blackberry but the most important thing for me is the e-mail and connectivity/sync. Otherwise I will wait for the newer WM phone that will be coming out on T-Mobile (HD2 I think) as I know WM has a very good e-mail client.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Incredible and use the Facebook app. Yesterday I added a new friend and she doesn't show up on my friend list in the Facebook app and I can't link her phone number with her profile because it doesn't show up. Any ideas? I've tried resyncing and restarting the phone. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I create a contact on the phone and assign a group, there are TWO 'friends' and TWO 'family' groups. All the contacts I setup from my GMail account show up in one 'friends' or one 'family' group. The duplicate groups are both empty. I went to an area where I can delete groups but the empty 'friends' and 'family' groups cannot be deleted. However, it looks like the groups I setup at GMail (where all my contacts are in) CAN be deleted. I'd rather not delete those groups because then those contacts will probably no longer be in a group, and the GMail/GContacts distinction will probably be lost. The reason this is annoying is because when I create a new friend contact from the phone I don't know which 'friends' group to add it to. Has anyone else noticed this? Checking my GContacts only shows one 'friends' group and one 'family 'group', but the way.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on Tmobile and just bought a G2, with my prior phone being a Blackberry 8310. I'm having some buyers' remorse (annoying interface, keyboard, crashes), and was hoping for suggestions on an alternative. I'm out of my Tmobile contract - so I can hop to another carrier. Can someone suggest a good blackberry-like phone running android? I tried the Motorola Charm, but found it underpowered. Here are my needs - Blackberry-like physical keyboard for 1 handed typing Blackberry-like size (don't really care about having a HUGE screen)
Touch screen If there's an upcoming option, I might revert to my 8310 and limp along until it comes out.
Sorry if this post is redundant but I've searched and couldn't realy find anything. My question is, is there a Facebook app that is more like the blackberry version? One that actually alerts you when there are new comments, notifications, messages, etc... It really sucks you have to go in manually and refresh to see what notifications you have rather than it just telling you when you do like the blackberry version does.

Coming from blackberry i have to say i am very disappointed with the lack of Profile tools. I rely heavily on custom vibration patterns and duration to differentiate between different email accounts, IM, phone, sms etc because i spend a lot of time sitting in meetings and need to discretely differentiate between accounts.
Why oh why hasn't somebody developed an App like the profile manager in blackberry? I really need an app with custom vibration across all notifications, not just call or sms. i don't want to go back to boring blackberry but might need to.
How about an app that lets you have several email icons, to the various accounts? They could show up with a small number indicating a new message and how many.
