General :: Run Exe Files For Windows (Desktop) PC On Android?
Apr 24, 2012I would like to run .exe files for Windows (Desktop) PC on android.
I know most of you would say it's not possible, but I don't care if you say that. Everything is possible in this world. You just have to want it.
Most important reasons why it shouldn't work:
- EXEs are compiled for Windows
- CPU commands are different to the x86 processors
- WinAPI isn't available on Android
The application I want to run, will run on a couple of houndred of (Tablet) devices, a remote connection is not the way to go. The application is private, and not available on the market. There is no other application that could replace it.
Any VM for Android, or an other solution -> Performance doesn't matter!
For the beginning I want to try to run a small windows application, like notepad.exe on android devices. Besides of that there is also a way to run Win98 on Android. I havent tested it yet tho.
General :: App To Lock Files On Desktop Of Tablet?
Jul 8, 2013I`m looking for an app to lock two files on the desktop of an tablet.
The company i work for is looking to supply their prospects with a tablet (for promotional reasons offcourse) . The idea is that a video and a pdf are locked to the desktop of that tablet.
Alternatively a solution that would periodically copy the shortcuts back to the desktop would be an option aswell.

Nov 8, 2009I've checked related posts and this question specifically pertains to the HTC Hero Sprint CDMA phone. Before connecting my phone to my PC desktop computer, I want to verify if this is the correct method: Question May simply connect my USB cable from my HTC Hero into my USB drive into my PC desktop? Will this pop-up the files, directly, etc? May I simply Copy/Paste the file(s) (pictures, etc.) into a file on my PC desktop hard drive? Is there simply a folder with my Micro-SD card files? Are there any other folders of files, etc. that may be on my phone which may be copied as well (i.e., Apps, etc.)? It's interesting to note that if an iPhone or iPod Touch is ever lost or misplaced, everything is backed up on iTunes on an external device. I suppose if I lose my phone, I'll have to start over. Correct? Or is there a way to backup Scenes, downloaded apps, customizations, etc.?

Jan 5, 2014I have a question about moving files after rooting, installed supersu already and give root browser permissions in supersu.
I have a problem with moving a apk file from downloads/direct to system/priv-app. It says after i'm trying to moved it "failed operations" and it seems like it's the only directory i can't move files to.
I have read that the files or directory should have some special permissions, but i'am sure that the criteria are met.
Also when i go to supersu to see logfiles on the "action" it says that i need supersu pro to move that files. But will it works or what should i do to get this to work?

Sep 11, 2010I was trying to free up space for my phone apps to run, by moving music files from the /emmc/music folder to my SD card. I succeded only when I resorted to using my PC connection, when both Astro and ES Explorer gave me "files cannot be moved" errors. I would prefer not to have done it this way, when I could have made use of such apps, but some part of the system is set against this. My phone isn't rooted, but I doubt that is the reason, as my PC was able to access files under /emmc (but not /system), and move them to my SD card. With my phone apps it's different, in that I cannot perform any operations at all under the root, not even copy (but I can look) Please help if you can!

I am able to set my captivate to "media player" under the USB settings and Windows Media Player is able to see it. I move files into the sync list and start to sync. It all works perfectly until, for whatever reason with no consistency, WMP freezes. I've concluded it's because the Captivate stops responding but I can't find a solution. The music files are not a problem since they are already condensed in mp3 format. But I need a solution for syncing pictures. Double Twist ignores the original folders and lumps every picture into one folder called "Images", so that's pointless.

So far I like the phone and the app store however am annoyed I can't get outside android programs to load.I have seen the sticky on this but am leery to attempt it.In the meantime I have some questions.
1. Is there a regular way most people use to move their movie files over to this phone? I tried doubleTwist, however I have selected just one folder and it grabs everything in all media folders and I have deselected looking at Windows Media Player and Itunes so this is causing me much frustration. Is there an easier way?
2.I just realized that the phone doesn't utilize an alarm clock feature. I know this is very minor, I am assuming there is an app for that.
3.Any advice an a good ebook reader for this phone?
I know I have more, but I'll stop here for now. The syncing part is just driving me nuts!

Apr 4, 2010I have a Samsung Galaxy I7500 using android 1.5. I extended my phone with a 16GB microSD. I copied a big music collection (around 800 files) into a folder on this SD. Now the problem is that the music player can't find all the files.
I know that there are several threads about android not finding music. The answers are usually that the library hasn't yet been updated or that the ID3 tags are not correct.
I have checked both.
Btw. I can play the files using ASTRO.
In my opinion it seems as if android can't build up a library with too many entries. If I rename the files or put them into different folders, songs disappear and reappear quite randomly.
Do you have any solutions? Is there a music player which doesn't use the native music players index of files?
