HTC EVO 4G :: Lose Saved Voicemail Messages After Upgrade / What Cause Is?

Just got my Evo last Fri at Best Buy. Since my wife's line was eligible for the upgrade, I used her upgrade. Best Buy did the swap to get the Evo on my line. However, afterwards, we found that both our saved voicemail msgs got deleted and both our VM mailbox got reset. Had to set a new pwd and greeting.
I called Sprint today and they said that anytime you upgrade to a smartphone, your VM will get reset. Nobody told us this. There's nothing they can do to recover. My wife lost a couple of important msgs and is not very happy.
Anyone else have this happen? Is Sprint's explanation correct? I thought VM would just transfer over.

Please, I need advice on how to get phone numbers saved on the phone up when forwarding received SMS or MMS! At the moment, I can only forward messages to contacts saved on Sim card!

First happened a few weeks ago. I was sending out a mass text and it forced closed and I lost all my messages. Its been happening ever since every few days randomly when I send a text. Anybody know what the reason for this could be? Its the stock text messaging app.

I have a question regarding syncing and g mail. I have only had the phone for a few hours, and I love it, but I am a little frustrated. I have setup my Google Mail, Contact, and Calendar and everything works great until I try to delete a goggle mail from my phone. When I delete the msg from the phone, it deletes the msg from the g mail server. I DO NOT want this to happen. I have looked into g mail and the settings, along with the settings on the phone. I have also tried to create filters, and I still have the same results. Is it possible to only do a "one way" sync? I do not want to lose msgs off my g mail. Am I doing something wrong, or am I just missing something?

OK it looks like I goofed and didn't backup the right messaging app in titanium...
However, before I decided to install a my new ROM I took a image backup in CWM and I'm guessing the messages got backed up too. I would reload the backed up image that CWM did but I'm getting this pesky MD5 mismatch nonsense.
So rather than faff with that, is there a way I can extract the messages / sms history from the image and restore it whilst in my new ROM environment?

This just started in the last day or so, but sometimes when I compose a message and send it out, gmail still shows a draft copy along with a sent copy. Happened twice today, had to manually delete the draft copy. Shows up in the phone drafts and online in draft folders. Its getting annoying.

On my old Droid X, the saved messages would show up at the beginning of the convo. I can't find where all of my saved text messages are now. It says it goes to storage/emulated or something like that, but I don't know where that is.

I just had a question about Voicemail messages I get, whenever I get a notification for a voicemail that came in it shows up in a bunch of weird characters just has a bunch of weird numbers and what not, does anyone have any clue what these text message mean? I even get them when i delete messages from my voicemail box which I'm starting to get really confused over.

I can't find it with the Voicemail app on the Fresh v1.1 rom.

So I have everything set up to automatically use my Google Voice number now, and started getting SMS texts in both my messaging inbox and in GV. I figured out I needed to turn off the SMS forwarding in GV, but it turns out I like using the default messaging app more than the one in GV.
Is there a way to make the GV app stop checking for SMS messages but still download my voicemail? I don't want to make it stop checking all together but I'd like to use the other app for SMS's.

Is the voicemail application inside of the messages application actually Verizon's Visual Voicemail? I saw on the market that there was an app for VVM, nd the interface looks different. I just want to make sure I'm using the right app and not using minutes and paying for VVM at the same time. Sorry if this is a dumb question and thanks in advance for help.

I got the Droid yesterday, and I'm trying to use Google Voice *just* for voicemail. However, it seems like I never get notifications about new voicemail, unless the app is open. Also, recorded voicemail is very soft when it's played back, almost too soft to hear.

In my notification bar at the top of my screen it says i have 1 voicemail. This notification also pops up when i turn my phone back on from being locked. However, when I check my voicemail, I do not have a new message or any saved messages either. Whats going on and how do I get rid of it?

I used to have a RAZR flip-phone, and while I love my current phone much more (an AT&T SGS2) I do sometimes miss the option to have the phone beep at you when you lose signal and again when you get it back. I am volunteering every day in West Liberty, KY (which was basically destroyed in Friday's tornadoes) but cell service is down except for small pockets here and there that for some reason get just enough service to send a text or sometimes make a phone call. Anyway, if I could get an app for the SGS2 that would run all the time and notify me when I have lost and regained cell service it would work for me.

Whenever i have my wifi on i lose my mobile reception completely. Also seems to be the same problem when plugging in the charger although signal is not fully lost all the time.

I know when I dumped my Incredible for an EVO, I couldn't just transfer my APPBrain apps to the EVO; I am replacing my current EVO for a new one tomorrow, and I am wondering if I have to find/download all my apps again, or I can just re-sync the new phone once I put AppBrain on it.

My phone isn't working right. It will randomly restart and get stuck on the white HTC screen. It'll only boot back up after a battery pull. I'm going to reset it to default but I want to know how I can back up all my stuff. I could care less about my applications but I don't want to lose contacts or SMS/MMS records, etc.

I recently bought a Nexus 4 and I would like to avoid losing it. I have no problem in spending some money on it, but it must work with/without internet connection (so I can save my phone with an sms if there isn't internet connection).
Actually I found "Locate My Droid" but I noticed there are various apps of this type, so before buying a PRO version I would like to know some well known names where I can choose from.
