On my old Droid X, the saved messages would show up at the beginning of the convo. I can't find where all of my saved text messages are now. It says it goes to storage/emulated or something like that, but I don't know where that is.

After some testing, I foudn that when I enable pop-up notifications, I can view incoming messages. But at no point do they become visible in my inbox... i.e. when I close the pop-up there is no trace of that message ever existing. Other points: I am able to view texts that I have asentThe stock Android messaging app does not receive messages eitherI verified that the Hangouts app has SMS disabled Also, I'm not sure if it is related, but my Handcent app updated yesterday.

Iv put my sim in a non android phone and it seems to work ok so am hoping its not the device, Iv already done a factory reset. changing network etc, it isn't a signal issue as I can download and use the internet perfectly.
I jut picked up a Samsung Galaxy S3, and I am trying to change my notification sound for text messages. I put an MP3 file in the appropriate folder, and selected it in the settings menu on messaging. It keeps reverting back to the old default message notification sound.
How to get it to believe I want to use a different sound?
My wife and I decided to join the 21st Century so our grandchildren can text to us and we purchased two Samsung Galazy S4 on Verizon network These are our first smart phones. Neither phone is able to send or receive text messages. The phones spin for awhile and then finally displays a failure message. I read one suggestion to turn off WiFi but that didn't work. No other problems have been found so far.

It started with powering on one day and a list of command prompts came up. Brand new model N 9810. I never saw this before on a droid i have had them for yrs. The list of command prompts seemed odd: Adb update..
Debug error report...
cache report...
Clear partition, wipe cache...
Factory reset sdk...
All of these items sounded odd to me, so instead of choosing an option bc i wasnt sure what would happen, i pulled the battery.
I put it back in and the phone came up in command prompt mode again, i was really concerned why this happened. I am not a tech person, so i thought, is my phone hacked? I ran root checker, both said no root or SU identified, but it said busybox was installed??
I use android 4.3 with custom ROM and my device is root. I use Google play store to install applications . where I can find apk files are downloaded by play store ,? I want find them and move them to SD card and use them later , if I want reinstall them and do not use more bandwidth of internet . I've went to a few websites like bleacher report and aljazeera news to name a couple (mobile version for both) and most of the videos cannot play. The do have the play button in them and when I press it, nothing happens. I downloaded the team stream app and the videos still don't play. They play fine on my iPhone though which I don't understand.
Also another problem I'm having is when ur on a website and there's text within a box. How to u scroll within that text. When I try, the whole page scrolls. In the iPhone, u use 2 fingers to scroll the text. I tried that but it didn't work.

The 4.3 update has completely screwed my phone:
Have Slowness issuesHome screen repaints icons noticeably slowlyThere are now sticky notifications of two downloads that happened BACK IN MARCH. No matter how many times I click on clear, they come back almost immediatelyHUGE BATTERY DRAIN. THE BATTERY COMPLETELY DEPLETES AFTER 2 HOURS AT MOST, WHICH DIDN'T HAPPEN BEFORE THIS STUPID UPDATEBattery stats shows the drain is because of an app that I completely doubt did anything. Checked that there is no newer update. Also, installed Kies 3.0 and it tells me my OS is not supported for updates via Kies either.
how to wipe out this update and go back to the stock original rom (4.1.1 i think).
I recently bought a Note 3 from someone and when I pull out the S pen, it shows me Action Memo, Scrap Book, Screen Write, Shortcut and S Calender. My Screen write takes own screen shot when I press it and doesn't allow me to write and it's not like the other Note 3. Instead of Pen Window it shows S Calender . When I click on the Scrap book it opens my recent apps window. Why my one is different?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use a galaxy S3, 4.3 and there is a problem with the stock sms app regarding the numbers. When i receive a message that contains words and a phone number, it doesn't hyperlink the numbers. I have to memorize the number to save it, or to make an action.
The numbers are not clickable, although the websites are.
So about a month ago I tried to flash a rom onto my galaxy s4. I waited for about three hours and nothing happened so I did home+down+on and clicked no so it would boot back up. I want to reset my galaxy but when I go home+up+on it puts me into downloading mode and it won't let me reset my device and wipe my data. I tried using Odin on my computer but I kept getting error messages. I'd really like to unroot my device and have it to factory settings again.

after updating my galaxy s4 to android 4.3.. it was good for some days then apps started crashing whatsapp, bbm, facebook messenger..i formatted my device and also the memory card but still apps are crashing whenever i open them.i works fine when i restart the phone but in few hours same thing happens again also my galley is taking 2-3 seconds to open.
View 4 Replies View Related' I'm having a few issues with my Galaxy S3, I was getting an error 923 when trying to download or update apps from Google Play, I searched and found a solution is to clear the cache from Google Play and reboot the phone.
When I go to the "app Info" in settings the data and cache sections both say "computing".
Then 1 or 2 things happen, 1: it will drop back to the home screen or 2: the phone will reboot.
I am unbale to update or download apps any longer on Google Play.
Other issue is I have a SIM Lock pin set, now when the phone reboots it is not showing the unlock sim screen and boots straight to the home screen and not connecting to my mobile providers network.
I have to go into settings remove the SIM Lock Pin and then the phone will connect to the network and then set the pin again.
I'm looking to find jelly bean 4.1.1.
