Most the roots I see on XDA are pretty much sense with a few colorful addons and launchers. If anyone has links to really different roms that don't really use sense post a link. And no adw launchers or launcher pro.

I'm currently running Warm TpT and I love it, and just wanted to know what the difference is between ROMS w/ Sense opposed to ROMS w/o Sense. I live in an area w/ 4g and am quite fond of it so I've stuck w/ ROMS running sense. Also, are there any Senseless ROMS that have 4g?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had stock for quite a while and got tired of it. I then went to use Fresh which I liked it but seemed to slow down the phone a little with all the sense crap on it. I am now using Cyanogenmod 6 and so far I love it. I was just wondering which other rom's out there don't use sense UI, also which rom works best on the htc evo and or which kernel. I am simply using the stock 1500mah battery but am really thinking about buying those battery's on ebay 3500mah ones.

What good roms are there that don't use Sense? You'd think this would be pretty basic information, but I haven't been able to find a list anywhere.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've tried a bunch of roms but what so special about sense roms from the stock sense besides the fact they remove sprint bloatware and add a theme? I've tried fresh and myns etc. They just are basically stock sense with a theme and a different launcher and some added apps. I don't notice any special feature and people are saying how great they are but I am missing something cause they arn't much different.

However, HTC (in their infinite wisdom) has decided that we really don't need a way to toggle bluetooth on or off during a call and has removed that button from their dialer. Bluetooth, what's that? A bluetooth toggle to be used during a call? No one would need that, let's code it out on purpose! Ok, enough ranting. Is there a way to get the vanilla froyo dialer on a Fresh (sense-based) ROM?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been trying out some different ROMs trying to pick out a daily and I have ran into a very annoying problem. When I download a sense ROM I cannot send MMS through Handcent or ChompSMS. However, the stock messaging app works like a charm when sending them. The only problem is that I hate the stock messaging app. I always wipe and don't flash any other zips before I try sending the MMS and it still doesn't work. The weird thing is that I can use Handcent and ChompSMS on the CM6 ROM. I've tried the APN method and factory data resets. Nothing.
Here's the sense ROMs I have tried with no luck:
-Myn's RLS2 and 3
-Nil's business sense
-Virtuous v3.1.0
-SkyRaider 3.3
Today I actually unrooted my phone and got everything stock again, and Handcent and Chomp still didn't work. This is very annoying because I have flashed probably 30 times in the past 3 days trying to find a Sense ROM I can get to work.
I have rooted 2.1 on my Sprint Hero. So far I have tried Fresh 2.3.3, Darchdroid 2.7 and PureHero 2.3.I rooted for several issues, most of which have been solved, but my number one issue seems to still be haunting me. Good corporate exchange support! Sense based ROM's (Fresh 2.3.3 and stock) support Exchanges security policy and force you to enter a PIN, but bring up the keyboard. My company requires number in the PIN and therefore I have to switch to numbers and enter my pin on a keyboard. I can no longer chew gum and use my phone at the same time. Nonsense based ROM's (Darch and Pure) don't require the PIN and allow me to use a pattern security on my phone, but they don't let me overlay my exchange calendar onto my phone with my google calendar. They only sync mail and contacts. Hope this is where I am missing something. This is a deal breaker for me since I have google calendars for everyone in my family and exchange for work. Got to see them all in one place to be where I need to be.I have tried Lockpicker on the sense ROM's, but then I have no phone security. I have too much info on my phone to go with no security, but I don't want to quit chewing gum.Any suggestions? Is there ways to pick and choose some of the features in sense?

View 14 Replies View RelatedMy Hero is running CM6. About once or twice a day an icon shows up in the notification bar that looks like a "play" icon (triangle pointing to the right). If you open the notifications while this is happening it shows a bunch of commands alternating quickly in random order including Camera Shutter, Low Battery, Undock, Keypress Spacebar, Keypress Standard, Keypress Return, Keypress Delete, Lock, Effect_Tick, Video Record, Unlock.There may be others but this is all I can comprehend as they go by really fast. When this happens there is nothing I can do to stop it except pull the battery.This is driving me crazy! Can someone tell me what is going on?

So i was busy installing apps and moving them around my screen when i accidentally hit the auto-brightness toggle on one of my newly installed widgets, i went to hit it a few more times to restore my previous brightness, but my screen totally turned off. The phone is still on, if someone calls me i can hear the ring tone perfectly.
I've done some Googl'ing looking for answers but i havn't found anything useful, I have already ordered a replacement fascinate under warranty, but it would be nice to find a solution to save myself 20 bucks on a zagg invisi shield..are there any know solutions or ways to factory reset without using the screen?
The Samsung logo and Galaxy S boot-up are visible, but when it normally shows the unlock screen its completely black
My phone has gone completely silent, it does not ring for an incoming call it just vibrates, silent mode is not on, I do not get any sound alerts at all for any messages. I have done a factory reset and it is still the same. Does anyone know how to fix this?

My question is, Can i totally block off Data Usage through just the phone itself? Is there any possible solutions? I want this phone, but just to have the wifi capability, I do not want any expensive data charges. If this phone is not possible to do so, I know some are, but I do not know which. How about the Htc Touch Diamond? Or any other phones you guys possibly know of that can disable the data function.

Either my Hero or my Droid work fine solo, but if I try both at the same time they both become unrecognised and I have to then restart Eclipse (2 minutes of waiting) before I can go back to using just one phone. Kinda sucks having to unplug and re-plug phones all the time. I have 8 USB ports and no specific combination I can find seems to help.
Plugging in more than one phone also crashes my DDMS.
I dropped my phone down the toilet and now my phones touch screen wont work. At first it worked fine could use it how I did before, then it went dead. I dried it out and left it off. After 24hrs I turned it back on and the phone needed to reset it self, this was done. My phone has totally reset now but the screen don't work. There is a lot of condensation on the screen. How do I get rid of this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am finding that file operations are extremely slow on emulator. The same operation which takes less than a few seconds in a real device, takes minutes on an emulator. I am using a ubuntu linux machine with 2.4Ghz CPU, 2 GB Ram. I would really appreciate any help in resolving this. I am totally stuck due to this.
I go to settings from the icon, and there is no option to change my Data Sync options! It has totally disappeared. I'm running AOSP 1.6, but it was just there earlier today. I only did a Nandroid restore recently, but I can't think of anything I did to make it re-appear if it was already missing. Help!

View 3 Replies View RelatedHad the x10 for a few months now, and at the start i loved it!! Yes the battery life was an issue but got better over time although can basically never leave any apps running.
But now, my touchscreen is totally messed up, i touch one area of the phone and it either doesn't respond or it just starts going crazy. Countless times i have had to either lock my phone and try again or switch it off completely which is a task in itself because of the screen not responding so the only solution is to remove the battery. When texting, i for example will press the letter a next thing i know its hit every other key other than a. I'm even struggling to answer my phone when receiving a call as again the screen won't respond correctly to unlock it.
My partner got her phone at the exact same time and hers is doing the exact same thing. Is this a common thing for the handset?
So PSX4Droid finally got released from the clutches of Google Market about an hour ago. Only problem now is I can't seem to get any roms to work. I set up a PSXROMS folder on my SD card, and my first d/l was Metal Gear Solid disc 1 and 2. I got them from here PSX ISO Download Section. So I downloaded the .rar, unzipped to get the .bin (says it's compatible), open the emulator, the emulator sees the files in the folder, I click it, it refreshes the rom screen. The emulator doesn't start. Am I doing something wrong? Wrong file type?
