I'm currently running Warm TpT and I love it, and just wanted to know what the difference is between ROMS w/ Sense opposed to ROMS w/o Sense. I live in an area w/ 4g and am quite fond of it so I've stuck w/ ROMS running sense. Also, are there any Senseless ROMS that have 4g?

I just upgraded to White Widow 3.1, and I love it except for some of the stock HTC stuff I really liked like the keyboard, dialer, and camera (the droid one sucks imo). I followed the proper steps for the keyboard (put it in the system/app folder) and it works perfectly. No such luck for the camera, and dialer. Does anyone know why? Are there any OTHER HTC apps I can use, or how to put these ones on there?

I'm currently using a G1 with cyanogen's latest but want a better camera (I'd get a nexus One but I'm on a family plan and don't want to pay full price)If you have tried more than one rom could you list the following comparisons for me?Which one was Faster or Snappier? did either one lag at all?What are the different features that make each rom better than the other? View 5 Replies View RelatedI had stock for quite a while and got tired of it. I then went to use Fresh which I liked it but seemed to slow down the phone a little with all the sense crap on it. I am now using Cyanogenmod 6 and so far I love it. I was just wondering which other rom's out there don't use sense UI, also which rom works best on the htc evo and or which kernel. I am simply using the stock 1500mah battery but am really thinking about buying those battery's on ebay 3500mah ones.

I've tried fresh and myns etc. They just are basically stock sense with a theme and a different launcher and some added apps. I don't notice any special feature and people are saying how great they are but I am missing something cause they arn't much different.

However, HTC (in their infinite wisdom) has decided that we really don't need a way to toggle bluetooth on or off during a call and has removed that button from their dialer. Bluetooth, what's that? A bluetooth toggle to be used during a call? No one would need that, let's code it out on purpose! Ok, enough ranting. Is there a way to get the vanilla froyo dialer on a Fresh (sense-based) ROM?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been trying out some different ROMs trying to pick out a daily and I have ran into a very annoying problem. When I download a sense ROM I cannot send MMS through Handcent or ChompSMS. However, the stock messaging app works like a charm when sending them. The only problem is that I hate the stock messaging app. I always wipe and don't flash any other zips before I try sending the MMS and it still doesn't work. The weird thing is that I can use Handcent and ChompSMS on the CM6 ROM. I've tried the APN method and factory data resets. Nothing.
Here's the sense ROMs I have tried with no luck:
-Myn's RLS2 and 3
-Nil's business sense
-Virtuous v3.1.0
-SkyRaider 3.3
Today I actually unrooted my phone and got everything stock again, and Handcent and Chomp still didn't work. This is very annoying because I have flashed probably 30 times in the past 3 days trying to find a Sense ROM I can get to work.
So PSX4Droid finally got released from the clutches of Google Market about an hour ago. Only problem now is I can't seem to get any roms to work. I set up a PSXROMS folder on my SD card, and my first d/l was Metal Gear Solid disc 1 and 2. I got them from here PSX ISO Download Section. So I downloaded the .rar, unzipped to get the .bin (says it's compatible), open the emulator, the emulator sees the files in the folder, I click it, it refreshes the rom screen. The emulator doesn't start. Am I doing something wrong? Wrong file type?

So far I have tried Fresh 2.3.3, Darchdroid 2.7 and PureHero 2.3.I rooted for several issues, most of which have been solved, but my number one issue seems to still be haunting me. Good corporate exchange support! Sense based ROM's (Fresh 2.3.3 and stock) support Exchanges security policy and force you to enter a PIN, but bring up the keyboard. My company requires number in the PIN and therefore I have to switch to numbers and enter my pin on a keyboard. I can no longer chew gum and use my phone at the same time. Nonsense based ROM's (Darch and Pure) don't require the PIN and allow me to use a pattern security on my phone, but they don't let me overlay my exchange calendar onto my phone with my google calendar. They only sync mail and contacts. Hope this is where I am missing something. This is a deal breaker for me since I have google calendars for everyone in my family and exchange for work. Got to see them all in one place to be where I need to be.I have tried Lockpicker on the sense ROM's, but then I have no phone security. I have too much info on my phone to go with no security, but I don't want to quit chewing gum.Any suggestions? Is there ways to pick and choose some of the features in sense?

Whats the difference between a 2.0.1 ROM and 2.1 ROM?
I've been rooted for awhile and always stuck with either AdamZ ROM or Pete's Bugless Beast and they were all based off of 2.0.1. Is there something special I need to do in order to run a ROM based off of 2.1?
It seems that with the cancellation of the N1 on both Verizon and Sprint, I lost my last best hope for an unadulterated Android platform. I honestly don't want Sense UI or any other proprietary UI. And at least on the Incredible (and presumably the EVO), its impossible to turn it off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust a little heads up out there for people like me who flash roms ten times a day. If you haven't already experienced this issue, you are likely to come across it in the future.
It is probably a good idea to make a backup of the contents of your sd card to keep when flashing from an a2sd enable rom to a non a2sd enabled rom. If your partitioned for a2sd and flash a non a2sd rom it will hold you phone at the boot screen or send you into an endless boot cycle.
I had to take everything off my sd card, re format the card, then flash the rom before I could load everthing back onto the card.
I may be a total noob, and for all you smart people this is probably a no brainer. But if I can keep anyone else from having this headache I thought it best to post it.
On the pre you had Preware to download patches (tweaks), the process was simple, just click the patch you wanted, self installed, thats it...patches were for anything that would enchance individual functions of your phone, not "replacing", but enhancing the way certain functions worked.....for the EVO, I assume these are "ROMS", is there such an app as Preware where we can on the phone search through ROMS, click and self install? Or is installing ROMS on Android more technically involved? Also, where can one find a directory of these roms that are organized in order of what they are for?

I've rooted my EVO using unrEVOked 3 and I've installed ROM Manager but I can't install any of the roms. I also tried to flash cyanogen by putting the zip on the sd card and when I try to load it, it says installation aborted then give a bunch of other stuff. This happens also when I try installing a rom from ROM Manager.
