HTC Incredible :: Trim Listings In Phone Book
Jun 25, 2010Is there a way to remove specific entries in the default phone book on the Dinc? If you have multiple phone numbers entered for a contact, all of them appear as as option for sending a text message. I would like to remove the "send message" entry for all non-mobile numbers. I see that there is a default phone number option for each contact. Is the same option to pick a default number for messaging? If so, that would help the mobile number for sms stand out in the list. I have sent a few texts to home or work phone numbers accidentally and I am trying to idiot proof my contact lists.

Dec 10, 2009I purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?

May 17, 2010I used the htc ringtone trimmed for one of the song in my music library on my phone and I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but how are you able to delete these ringtones when you no longer want them? The program its self works fine for making ringtones but I cannot find anyway to delete them. I even looked in Astro. If someone doesnt mind could they please lend some advice on this. Aug 18, 2010My fiance upgraded from LG Voyager to Droid 2. She wanted her old ringtones from the Verizon Media store so she downloaded them. When she stored them they were given default names. I was able to make the appropriate ringtone associations, except for voicemail. I have 2 questions:
1. How do you set a ringtone for voicemail? When I run the standard voicemail app (Verizon) I cannot being up a menu.

Android :: Setting A New Default Ringtone Without Ringtone Picker
Mar 28, 2010I'd like to set a new default ringtone without using the ringtone picker. In other words, there is a certain ringtone that is already installed on my system, and I want to programmatically set it to be my default ringtone without any human interaction. The reason I want this is because every time I reboot my N-1, my previous default ringtone setting gets forgotten, and I am given another ringtone that I don't like. I want to set up an app that I can run manually (or better yet, to cause to automatically run upon startup) which will reset my default ringtone to the one that I like without my having to manually do this via the Settings.
The only examples I have found so far for doing this involve using the ringtone picker, but as far as I can tell, this requires human interaction, which I want to avoid.

But when I am in Settings for Notification Ringtones, I do not see the mp3 I added but only in Calling Ringtones. Why is this? I want to use the same ringtone for notifications too!.

Aug 1, 2010so we just got the Eris for my gf (I have a rooted droid) and she's loving the phone, but is def a BIG adjustment from the blackberry. The biggest problem that we are having is that the phone will not ring until about the 3rd or 4th ringtone, which by the 6th or so, it goes to VM anyways.... so If I call her (or anyone) I'll hear the calling tone from my end, and on the 4th one or so, finally her phone will ring, but you have about 5 seconds then it goes to voice mail... can anyone help me with this? if it matters, I do have google voice setup with gvoice as the stock vmail... I don't remember if it was doing that before this

Notification volume up full.
System volume up full.
Not on silent.
Not on vibrate.
Haven't tried it with a bluetooth headset because she doesn't use one.
Hasn't dropped it...nothing like that.

May 23, 2013I downloaded a free ringtone app from Google Play to set my notifications to a custom tone. But recently, it hasn't been playing. I thought by uninstalling the app and reinstalling, it would work. It hasn't, and no other tones work either, even default ones. The only sound that plays is the Facebook Pop one.

I made a mp3 as my text message tone...its only 6 or 7 seconds long..but, the problem I am encountering is that when my phone is idle and my text message tone goes off upon receipt of a new text...I am finding myself using the unlock button to awaken the phone..swiping my finger on the screen to unlock the phone, and then going to the message icon to FINALLY disable the text message tone from continuing.
Is there a way for the phone to recognize that I am touching it, using the lock button on top of the phone or the volume keys..or SOMETHING other than having to actually wake, unlock, and enter the message area?
