I downloaded a free ringtone app from Google Play to set my notifications to a custom tone. But recently, it hasn't been playing. I thought by uninstalling the app and reinstalling, it would work. It hasn't, and no other tones work either, even default ones. The only sound that plays is the Facebook Pop one.
Also, unrelated to the ringtone, but my phone also vibrates no matter if I have it turned off.

But when I am in Settings for Notification Ringtones, I do not see the mp3 I added but only in Calling Ringtones. Why is this? I want to use the same ringtone for notifications too!.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've uploaded some custom MP3's to my media folder from my PC to my DroidX2 via a USB cable. Files are copied to Internal Storage>Media>Audio>Ringtones. (On my DroidX this folder was stored on my SD card) All files are uncorrupted MP3's and play correctly on my computer. Files are from a variety of sources. Some are DL from web, some from email attachments, and some are ones that I've created.
Once on my phone, some of the files will play correctly, some will play the currently selected default phone ringtone (regardless of the file I'm trying to play), and some will produce an error saying that the player does not support the filetype (depending on the app). This has been happening on both DroidX and DroidX2 ever since Gingerbread.
WHY these files will not consistantly play?? Are there variations in MP# filetypes? Should they be converted to a preferred filetype?
I have a galaxy nexus with the newest android firmware 4.2.1. I am using the play store a lot in the recent time and already bought quite a lot of music. Now, I wanted to set one of the bought tracks as a ringtone or alarm, but with no app I can't choose the songs that I paid for. How is it possible to choose a paid song as a ringtone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the HTC Incredible and one of the things I haven't been able to figure out is how to set incoming phone calls to vibrate, yet play the notification sound. None of the profiles seems to make that combination happen. If I switch it to silent, no sound or vibrations happen for calls or notifications. In the vibrate profile, both calls and notifications only vibrate. In normal mode, I can't get calls to vibrate only. If I slide the call ringer volume all the way down and slide notification volume up, it switches it to silent mode. If I have call ringer volume up one notch from silent, it still plays the ringtone. Is this something I can accomplish or do I have to have silent calls only if I still want notifications played?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently purchased the Virgin Mobile Supreme (Sprint Vital, ZTE N9810). The one thing that is bothering me is that there is only one volume setting for the combined ringtone and notifications. I would like to set these volumes separately.
I tried one volume control tool, but even though it had 'separate' controls changing ringtone changed notification and vice versa.
last night I got tired of waiting for the 2.2 update so I installed unrevoked forever, 2.15 radio and the third wave rom from adrenyline. After all that went smoothly I decided to throw the standard clock undervolt hydra kernel in there too. After I did that I got sporadic reboots and the screen became very unresponsive. Also it seems to cause the phone to freeze whenever it has to wake up to play a notification sound or alarm...
Now I have to say that I had the same problem about a month ago when I tried one of the older Hydra Kernels, but I figured it would be fixed with the newer ones. My question is it seems that I am the only one with problems, all the posts I read about these things are positive with little or no issues. Am I installing it incorrectly somehow? Is anyone else having issues too?

In the emulator 1.5, my app can get and play the contacts ringtone. but after the app installed in the real G2, the app can not play the contacts ringtone, and it does not throw any error. in the G2, I have already the contacts ringtone. Does anybody encounter this before?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my desire I have a mp3 set as my notification ringtone so that I can check my email as soon as it is received. The problem is that the mp3 rings out for a couple of minutes which can be really annoying if my phones locked in my pocket.
I have been trying to find a way that I can silence a notification without having to unlock the phone, put in my password and then open the notification bar. Is there a way to have the phone mute the notification ring tone if i move the phone or something like that?

My understanding is that the sound will be saved as well as a ringtone, a notification sound and an alarm, as the flags are all set to "true". At least on the emulator this does work but on the actual device, the sound only shows up in the ringtone list, and I have no idea why.
I've tried to investigate further: removing the line with "IS_RINGTONE" won't change anything (in case only one flag can be used at a time), the sound doesn't show up in the list with the notification-sounds.
I know I am going to be embarrassed by this, but how do I just turn it off.I downloaded a ringtone from Mabilo sounds it was fee, but now I cant figure out how to turn it off.When I go into settings and notification ringtones, its not there.Even if it were and I could uncheck it, there is no option for no notification at all. Wat am I missing?

I downloaded AudioManager, and it looks like there are separate volume levels for alerts and ringer, but they seem to be linked. Right now, if I have my volume set high enough to hear incoming calls, I jump out of my seat every few minutes when I get an email or text.
