I am sure this was asked before but I can't fund an answer. Can you set a ring tone to a group of people? Say like all the people I have set as friends. I use the same ring tone for all of them except a few special people that I talk to all the time and would like to have just one ring tone for the co workers group so I know when not to answer my phone.

The reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. What is going on here? I have lookout AVP app loaded and running at all times.List on my runnng apps on EVO:

I do have an abundance of navigation (gps, turn by turn, ect), some news, a widget for quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, ringer on/off, gps), Music (shazam, pandora tunee music, The house FM christian radio) Astro file manager, Emulators, facebook integration.I have noticed some coming on by themselves. Ill try to note when I have done nothing to activate them.
I am enjoying my new phone but having trouble finding apps with up to date mp3 music/ringtones on and could someone explain how i save mp3 tracks/ringtones to my memory card.

I now have a requirement to update my .apk files to 2.2 as well as build 6 additional .apk files that are made up of 6 completely different URL launchers to other WAP sites. I have successfully set up my Java and SDK environment My questions are: What is the best recommendation the group can suggest as a starting point? How do I open the .apk file in my eclipse environment to make the changes necessary? As the list home page says, it is intended to be a place to "Discuss developing Android applications using the Android framework". While I find the talk about the Market and wider issues very interesting, I do think it would be better placed on the -discuss list, so that this list can be more focussed on technical issues to do with developing using the SDK.
I wonder if the reason why this list attracts a lot of off-topic stuff is the name? I suspect many people don't see the description and just interpret "android-developers" to be for discussion of issues affecting developers. Perhaps if it was named "android-sdk" (to match the new android-ndk list), that would improve things?

Helped me out heaps with it and not had to look anywhere else on the net (apart from for formatted wallpapers Anyway. I've got a heap of contacts set into a group as we all regularly send jokes to each other (all hail sickipidea !), however, when i receive a message i can't, for the life of me, figure out how to forward the message to a group. I can only ever search for a single recipient.

When I move through the cursor to get the results of the query, how can I get the multiple items associated with each group into my vector? For example, I want to get BOTH "Item X" and "Item Y" for October 16, 2010. Currently, I get them each separately.

I'm on T-Mobile with Sony Xperia Z1S, and my all other friends are all with AT&T and iPhone.
Whenever I'm included in their group text (or I sent out group text including them), I never get much of luck working.
I will more likely get bunch of individual MMS text from all 5 friends (iPhone) with "touch to download" but the text itself nowhere to found, and even i touch the "touch to download" mms, it doesn't download anything.
I forgot to mention, i use "hangout" as my main SMS and message app.
I have asked same question on G+ and one person replied and said he has no problem with group text with other iPhone user, and suggested me to have group message on hangout setting, and turn off Wi-Fi calling. I tried and still doesn't work.

So, I've stumbled across the answer: Contacts Groupu. I pulled it from the market, and it syncs with the groups you have in your Google Contacts. When you go to view a group, you can toggle to "check all", then hit email and and watch it plug each email address into the "to" field within the native Gmail app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to do this to a group with more than 6 people, it converts the message to a mms and wants to use there email and wont add any more than 10 contacts.This way is messed up, I have made several groups of 7 different sets of contacts, They all change to MMS Message when selecting any of those groups.I can send a group message by doing the below actions without any problem for some reason though, Which TBH is just more hasse.

Either of these options are not functional. They don't work. It seems that HTC forgot to add functionality for this. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Or is there a better more standard way to get it? I'm using the literal string "System Group: My Contacts" when I query the Groups table to get the source row for the My Contacts group.
