View 10 RepliesI have received an update for froyo and i have installed it. But i cannot notice any change in the UI / (any froyo enhacements). But the software information of my phone is showing "Andriod Version is 2.2" and the software number is 2.13.707.1. When i'm trying to check for the updates manually "your phone is up to date" message is displayed.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi obtained a different keyboard but when u long press in a text box it no longer allows me to change the input method. no option even comes up....anyone else with this issue?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was able to change the boot animation before Froyu using the procedure at http://androidforums.com/tips-tricks-evo-4g/109120-how-install-new-boot-animation-without-root.html.After Froyo, I've tried to push the zip file as VZW_bootanimation.zip and bootanimation.zip to both /data/local and /system/customize/resource (I can't write to that location, I think it's for rooted phones only). None of these four options worked.What am I missing? That native boot animation is nasty.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried to change the font on Froyo manually with rootexplorer as i have in the past with other builds/roms but it caused boot loop. Has anyone been able to do this and if so how?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI thought that i just had to place the boot animation.zip file in /data/local and that was it, but its not working. is there another way?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am triying to use PutYourBootHereWithAudio like before and it runs through all the steps fine but the phone reboots with the old (or new) htc startup still...I downloaded htc sync before hand as that is what worked for me in the past, anyone else get this?
View 22 Replies View RelatedI have just recieved my HTC Desire Z from Hong Kong and I've noticed the languages available are quite limited, especially the keyboard input which only has the Thai input option.
Is there a way I can change this or change the OS from the Asia pacific region to the Europe one?
Also, I was under the impression that the Desire Z would have the swype function. Was I mistaken as I cannot locate it?
I've installed Froyo on my i7500, but the statusbar colour is still the boring old light grey. Is there any way to change this to black, by any chance?
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust found this out over at the XDA forums, that to change the boot animation and sound, you go to /system/customize/resource/ and it's named VZW_boot animation.zip and for the sound it's named VZW_Droid.zip..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have froyo running but I have had to change keyboard back to stock. I had the keyboard with the mike key on 2.1 but this kb does not seem to function on froyo. How do I now speak texts and emails a function I loved before.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy unbranded SGS is currently running 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6) which I updated via the registery hack last month. It's running smooth and I've not had any problems My question is, what is the difference between my existing version and the 'offical' Froyo 2.2 that will be released soon? Would I be able to update my firmware to the newer version since I'm already on 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there any difference because i noticed that there are a couple bugs(swype is a little erradic, missing apps). So is there a difference and also will i be able to update to the official froyo if already on the leaked version?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a notification that starts my activity and passes a messages using the intent's putExtra() function. The message is then displayed to the user in the activity's onCreate function. When the application is restarted due to a orientation change, the message is shown again as it is still in the intent's bundled data.
How can I remove the extra data?
I tried the following:
Bundle bundle = getIntent().getExtras();
if (bundle.getBoolean("showMessage")) {
// ... show message that is in bundle.getString("message")
// remove message
bundle.remove("showMessage");
}
But the message will still be shown after the orientation changed, seems like the intent used is not the one I changed, but the original one. The only workaround I found is to save the showMessage additionally in onSaveInstanceState(). Is there another way? Or is this the way to go?
I have the following linear layout. What I don't understand is if I set the background to another image, the padding information are reset. Is there a way to prevent this?
<LinearLayout android:id="@+id/aPanel"
android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:background="@drawable/bkground"
android:paddingLeft="15dp" android:paddingRight="15dp">
<!-- some children here -->
</LinearLayout>
I see the position of the children get shifted when I change the backround drawable of the linearlayout 'aPanel'.
I have a widget which has say, a dimension of 294*72(portrait). But when the orientation is changed, I need to change this dimension of the widget to another dimension which would look good on the landscape orientation.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an image set as my background and when it is vertical, the image looks fine. However, when the orentation is changed, the image get streched out. If there a way that I can change the image based on the orentation of the device?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Android project that branched into three different applications, app-1, app-2 and app-3, that apply some customizations. Currently there is a lot of code duplication, making maintenance a nightmare: do the changes in one of the branches, and then merge the other two.So we create a library project, named app-core, that factors out most of the duplicated code. So far so good.When I launch this into an emulator where the application was already loaded (before the refactoring), I get this exception:Re-installation failed due to different application signatures.A different signature? But I just added a line in the .classpath to link to the app-core Java project!
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a problem with this new kitkat os. Before kitkat i could change between tabs by swiping left to right ir right to left to change tabs.Now it doesn't change.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyway we can upgrade to .6 heard people with .3 it won't work. do we need to reinstall 2.1 (1.47) and then upgrade from there?
View 13 Replies View RelatedIt looks like the 2.2 root is now up on the EVO. anyone try it yet?Froyo update for the Evo 4G is now rootable | Android Central
View 2 Replies View Relatedso lets put together everything new that you have noticed playing with your Desire with Froyo!
1. Wi-Fi Hotspot as promissed
2. New HTC Sense icons for wireless control
3. 1280 * 720 video recording
4. Video Icon in All apps(used to be All programs?)
5. News and Weather in All apps(or it was there before?)
6. Flashlight in All apps
7. App Sharing in All apps
Will I see the differences if I use launcher pro when I get Froyo? Maybe speed wise. But not the additional features right? Ie... widgets, new photo album etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if this has already been answered, but can't find it. So, I am starting a new thread. Please close this if there is similar thread exists.I have not received a froyo update on my EVO 4G. Once I waited long enough, here is what I have tried so far to get the update.
- NO update via OTA so far.
- Reset the phone to a factory setting, no luck.
- Manually tried going to setting --> System Update --> HTC software update --> check Now and have been getting "Your phone is up to date" for over a week now.
- Tried to install it myself by downloading the zip file. Followed all recommended steps. Tried this at least 3 different times, using different zip files I downloaded from different locations. I kept on getting "signature verification failed"
- Called sprint, transferred to several tech support people, who knew nothing about android 2.2 (froyo)
- Went to sprint store, and was told to give it another week or so before they consider this as an issue.
The only option I have left is to accidentally throw the phone under a Bus and get a brand new one since I got full insurance from Radio shack.
I go to settings - system updates and when I go to update the firmware it says their is no update. Am I doing something wrong?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just d/l the froyo keyboard for the Evo4g. I absolutely love it. I find it much better than the stock. I also have swype which I love as well, but.. I have to be in the mood for it, heh, if that even makes sense. I'm not sure if it's because of the evo's screen real estate, but it seems so smooth and accurate. Either way, I love it. Anybody else using it? I'm sure rooted users already have it, but for those who are NOT rooted, it's a nice feature. I found it, by going to a website for the evo, which im sure you all have been on before. It's Good and EVO | Raising hell with the HTC EVO 4G for those who have not. View 4 Replies View RelatedI just unrooted my evo because i was having issues with Fresh 1.0.1, i was unable to update to Fresh 3.0. I decided to unroot (i think i unrooted right) and once i did that i get the Froyo update pop up asking to update my software. When i click on ok to download the update it than ask to install, when i click install my Evo reboots and looks like its going to unpack but then i get an exclamation mark with the android robot. Anyone know how to fix this or know whats wrong?
