View 1 RepliesIs there a photo gallery application that allows you to move photos from one folder to another? I use a File Manager to do this, but I'm trying to help out a novice user on an Evo; the Evo Photos application doesn't seem to allow you to move photos.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo my gallery has the typical folders in it such as Camera shots and I am familiar with the option to turn on "Default Folders' such as My Favorites, All Photos, All Videos and All downloads. I also have a couple folders that I created and uploaded to the root directory of the SD card to be recognized and displayed by the Gallery. For SOME REASON I have two OTHER folders that are found in my SD card that are also ANNOYINGLY showing up in my gallery. One is called "icons" with about 91 little...you guessed it, ICONS...and is associated with the Maps and My Maps app on my SD card in the path .../sdcard/maps/mymaps/icons/...
The other folder that showed up is "tmp" associated with the FreeTube app in the path .../sdcard/FreeTube/tmp/... First WHY are these folders randomly and "without my asking" showing up in my Gallery app? Secondly, PLEASE tell me there is a way to get rid of them. I'm a bit annoyed that they are listed in folders in my Gallery App but the MUCH BIGGER ANNOYANCE is their inclusion in my slideshows...I see 91 stupid little map icons in my slideshows and screensavers!
If I go to the Gallery I get Camera Shots, All Photos, and All Videos. How can I create a new gallery folder to be visible here so that I can classify my pictures more easily. I tried creating a new folder on the SD card within DCIM100Media and using an app that rescanned the SD card but no luck.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid just running stock 2.0.1. What I am looking for is a photo/picture gallery app that simply let's you select the folders that you want to display in the app. I was fine with the stock gallery for awhile, but then I started getting a variety of apps that store pictures in various folders (the worst one being Touchdown for Exchange which puts almost every attachment in a new folder). The stock gallery now takes forever to load up, as it is loading a TON of folders with images in them. Really it makes it almost useless at this point. This was the main reason I switched to MixZing for audio, as it let me narrow my library down to the few folders that actually mattered.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo recently on my HTC Desire and noticed that the preview picture on my gallery folders changed. Is there an easy way to change the preview picture of the folder? It seems to be using the first picture in the folder. I tried deleting the folder and recreating it from my computer but didn't work. The first picture in the folder also doesn't seem to be related to the alphabetical order, or date order so not sure why it's even picking that picture as the first one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNew to the Galaxy Note 3. While setting up the phone, I selected a wallpaper that I had downloaded into the Gallery and set it as the wallpaper for the LOCK screen. It worked with no issues.
I then wanted to create a folder to move the picture into and the Gallery gave me that option. I created a folder named PICTURE A and moved the pic that I was using as a wallpaper for the LOCK screen into it.
I went to look for the folder later and it's not there. It's still using the picture I designated for the LOCK screen, but the folder is nowhere to be found. I've looked using My Files, looked in the Storage section of Settings and thru all the apps and such. Nothing.
I am running into a problem with bitmaps on an Android application I am working on. What is suppose to happen is that the application downloads images from a website, saves them to the device, loads them into memory as bitmaps into an arraylist, and displays them to the user. This all works fine when the application is first started. However, I have added a refresh option for the user where the images are deleted, and the process outlined above starts all over.
My problem: By using the refresh option the old images were still in memory and I would quickly get OutOfMemoryErrors. Thus, if the images are being refreshed, I had it run through the arraylist and recycle the old images. However, when the application goes to load the new images into the arraylist, it crashes with a "Trying to use recycled bitmap" error.
As far as I understand it, recycling a bitmap destroys the bitmap and frees up its memory for other objects. If I want to use the bitmap again, it has to be reinitialized. I believe that I am doing this when the new files are loaded into the arraylist, but something is still wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating.
The problem code is below.

I just noticed today when I opened my gallery that there is a folder titled "240x400." It has fifty random images that look like backgrounds for something. This folder has never been there before today and the only app I've added recently is Autokiller. Where the heck did this thing come from? Running CM6 if that helps.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the updated gallery now for my Droid and I see the new folders, but the folder which had all the pictures I took with my phone's camera is now gone. If I go into the camera, I can see the pictures that way, but there used to be a "Camera" folder in the Gallery.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Droid phone 2 days ago. Great phone! But I have many things to learn. I have a question about the saved pictures. Why is it that when I open my photo gallery there are more than just the "all photos" folder. Seems when I take a picture, or save one off the Internet or transfer the pics off my old phone, that it makes a new folder for each different set of pics and puts all the pics in the "all pictures"folder. Is there any way I can just have the "all pictures" folder as the only one?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have G+ to sync photos. In my gallery, every photo syncs just fine except for the Instant Upload folder.
In the G+ app, under photos - Instant Upload album displays the images just fine.
In short, gallery shows Instant Upload as a blank folder but G+ shows it full of picture.

I took a bunch of photos this weekend and they are sitting in the camera folder in the gallery. How do I save them to the phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSuppose that into images folder I have several subfolders, say 25. I would like a way to display in Gallery say 2 folders, with the pictures that I desire into each one, without having to physically moving the pictures (because for example each subfolder corresponds to a month, like nokia does: 201201, 201202, etc.)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded a picture attachment from my Gmail that is an 'unwanted picture' which I opened when I went to Gallery/Download folder. It is currently the default preview picture now for the Download folder. I've already deleted this picture from the Download folder, but anytime I download a new picture attachment, it still uses the 'unwanted' pic as the folder preview.I've even tried manually deleting the Download folder using AstroFile Manager.Everything I've tried doesn't seem to work.I desperately need help because currently I'm not able to download any picture from my Gmail account without that stupid picture showing up as the preview for the Download folder.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems trying to use files after moving them.
Example:
I took a bunch of pictures at an event, the created a folder for that event and moved the pictures into it. I can still open the pictures one at a tiem by navigsting too them, but the galleary app still shows the thumbs, but cannot find them.
Example 2:
I downloaded an mp3 for a ring tone, and while in the downloads folder the music player found it and I was able to set it at a ring tone. But I tried to create a ringtones folder, and then music could not find it, and just playing it by opening the file would not allow me to set a ring tone.
So how does this work? I have seen references here to folders called Media and ring tones, but I see nothing like that in the file system on my phone. Where does one put music if they want to actually use the music player?
Is the DCIM folder the ONLY one that works with the photo gallery? Is the Downloads folder the ONLY one that works with the music player?
I've made folders and added pics to the sd card while i had it in my computer but the stock photo app won't recognize the folders but it does see the pics and puts them in both the stock folders (All Photos, Camera Shots).
Why can't the stock photo app (photos) recognize the folders I put on my sd card? I'm fairly tech. savvy but can't figure this photo app file structure for the life of me! Is there a photo/camera app that asks where and what folder I want camera pics to be saved too?
I really don't like the Gallery app. I'd prefer the photo gallery to be simpler and let me just flick through photos without any whizzy 3d effects. Is there a way to get the default Photos/Pictures app that some phones came with, or is there any good alternatives people would recommend?

***IF YOU HAVE 3D GALLERY FROM MARKET ALREADY INSTALLED, UNINSTALL FIRST*** 10x9.com/xh. Installed straight from sdcard and it runs perfectly, and boy is that pinch preview feature fun. I believe since it runs off the sdcard it loads gallery pictures faster, or at least appears to do so on my end. Runs perfect on my Droid X so I thought i'd post it here.
The Android's own app Gallery is very cool, now I have a requirement to add an external app to view the media, let me describe it detail, the following is the steps: 1. Run android's Gallery, in the first page, Gallery list all directorys which include media (image / video). 2. Long touch one of the directory, then a context menu will pop up where has two menu items: Slideshow & View. My requirement is to lunch other app when clicking the menu item View, for example, in other app (I will implement it) user can multi select the medias then process them (i.e. delete them, compress them to a file, or copy them to other place)..........
View 4 Replies View RelatedWill the Incredible have the same 3D photo stacking view in the N1? Of all the review videos I've seen it appears it does not but it might just be they chose not to show that off. I really liked that ability to show 3d stacks of photos sorted by date. Is it possible to use the stock android app for viewing photos instead of the sense photo gallery?
View 33 Replies View RelatedGiving it a second shot. So far its been ok. Took a half hour and 4 reboots before I got it stable. That does not include the 2 reboots it did by itself. Also Anyone have a suggestion for a replacement for the gallery app in 2.2. It is really slow and sucks. It is visually pleasing but I want to set a wallpaper quickly and not wait 5 min for it cache all my images. At this point however I do see myself going back to xtr... just no comparison speed wise but I am going to give it a few days solid testing.

I have the default HTC Hero photo gallery and was wondering if there are any apps that have been made that are a bit more fancy than the standard Hero gallery.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI hate how slow the Gallery3D system app is. It's been slow on both my Motorola Droid & HTC Incredible running various ROMS, including stock. It's ridiculous, actually. The HTC Gallery is great by the way it organized photos and is easier to use, but isn't an option for an AOSP ROM [afaik]. Does anyone have a recommendation as to what my other options could be? Thanks, and please don't flame.
