Ok its downloaded and works between my EVO and my Mac but how can I make it tether to my Galaxy Tab ? I thought I had read some where that I would be able to and yes I have been searching.

I am newbie, and when I did a searched "tether" here, I got threads about charges, hot batteries etc. Here is what I am looking, I have downloaded "easytether Lite" to my motorola droid, now I am stuck, I looked for the PC side download that is needed and I can't seem to find it. I am running win7 64bit. I got so real good stuff on my phone (movies of my family) and I want to upload to my pc and I need some really easy to follow instructions to proceed. Folks I don't like saying this, but you see I have 3 learning disabilities, and technical stuff just over-whelms me. So I ask for you consideration in this.

The app says that I must remove the Easy Tether Lite before the Pro will work, but I can't figure out how to delete Easytether Lite. The Vibrant is a new phone for mee, so I'm still trying to figure everything out.

I am wanting to cancel my ISP.so my question is how do I set it up using my evo and a usb connection.i can root just no real desire to do so and I am not against paying for the app if it will work for me. do I just plug in my evo via usb and work with the internet settings on the system...has any one done this with real success?

View 45 Replies View RelatedI have a droid X I just got not very long ago at all and a friend told me how to use the rooted version to play xbox live and things like MW2 online using the tether...so I think I rooted my phone it says it is.
I used androot and it seems to have rooted my phone however it does not ask me permission(yet i literally just downloaded it) now my question is this:
I have downloaded wireless tether for root users version 2.0.1(I am running 2.1 update1) I am not sure if that was the correct version...but I am online so I assume so.
How do I open the NAT settings on the wifi however? that is the whole point of me doing this charade and I cannot figure it out. I try to play MW2 online and it says they are strict.
I've just got my new Samsung Galaxy S I9000 phone which looks awesome. I had been using a Nokia N97 Mini which had behaved OK and I've been using Joikuspot as a WIFI tether which is important because of my need for the internet during the day. I was really please to find that the Galaxy has an inbuilt tether application in the Mobile AP however I cannot get it to work and wondered if any one else had any issues? The Mobile AP kicks in ok and I can find it on my laptop however when I try to connect it just tells me that it cannot connect and goes into trying to diagnose the problem. I tried to bypass this by inputting the wireless connection manually but when I do it tells me the security option is wrong but does this for every option in the list.

I just got my first smartphone and downloaded some apps off the play market. However, an icon never appeared on my home screen that links to them. I can access them by opening the market back up, searching for the app, and running it there. But I can't seem to figure out how to make a shortcut.

I just got the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. Seems like a nice phone. Every phone I've had in the past (Nokia, Sony, etc...) has always allowed me to hide my number so that the call display on the receiver's phone shows my call as 'private'. This is useful for when you don't want certain people to have your number when you call. Is there a way to do this on the Galaxy S? I couldn't seem to find any setting how.

File management and, file transfer applications to wireless link to my laptop followed by the transfer of all my work presentations (powerpoint) and lecture notes. All worked fine until today. Now, my device seems to have lost all the downloaded and installed apps (leaving gaps on the desktop). It has also discarded the image I had chosen for my screen background, and I can't see an icon to go to the Android store. Finally: on one of the screens I have the message "Problem loading widget". That might be connected to the problem that Android Market has completely disappeared. How do I get that back!! It's important. My transferred files are still sitting in folders in DCIM so that's good. but none of the special applications are visible. Can someone give an opinion on this. Has something taken place online with Samsung that has put my system back to its out-of-box state.
