Samsung Captivate :: How Do I Delete Words From Stock Keyboard?

I found out how to add stuff to the stock android dictionary, but I added stuff I meant as just a test and now I don't know how to delete them.I posted this on xda but haven't gotten an answer yet. Was wondering if anybody here had some insight.Keep in mind this is the STOCK ANDROID keyboard I'm talking about, not swype. For this phone there is no "Language and Keyboard" setting, which is the answer I came across when I tried to google for an answer.

Nov 30, 2009I have a problem with my keyboard that only seems to have started since I installed the Hero firmware update (which has sped up the phone considerably).
When I first got the phone I was really impressed by the Keyboard and the speed at which I could type. But since the update it is really slow and keys on the right edge of the screen (especially delete) don't register at all sometimes.
I have calibrated the keyboard but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'
Update:
- Added option to disable notification icon
-' start on boot' feature is disabled because it's not yet complete and tested... Sorry for the confusion
Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.
The app is still in development.

Jun 22, 2010Is this something I have to deal with or is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? Same thing w/ the calendar reminders. I have dismissed them on my phone but they still come up in outlook when I get home.

Apr 18, 2010For those of you that are familiar with better keyboard. I was wondering about an easy way to switch from the t9 keyboard to the regular qwerty keyboard. I was under the impression that swiping left would toggle between the 2 but all that does is bring me to the numbers and symbols keyboard. I've been changing back and forth to the android keyboard because its faster than going into the better keyboard settings.

Nov 13, 2010When I delete emails in Gmail from my computer, they do not delete from my phone unless I first go into a folder from the phone (any folder) and then back into the Inbox. When I go back to the Inbox, I can see the phone refreshing and the email gets deleted.I rarely check my Gmail folders from my phone so it's annoying for me to go into a folder and back to the Inbox just to get it to synch. Anyone else have this problem. Any fix for this?

1. What exactly is "freezing" an app? Will it remove the app from the app drawer? Will it just prevent it from running?
2. Can I use Titanium backup to delete apps that are safe for delete like amazon.mp3, etc?
3. If I "freeze" an app like backup assistant will it still be on the phone so that it doesn't brick if I do a reset?
4. Can I delete or freeze things like crap ringtones so they don't show up when I am setting a ringtone?

May 20, 2010is there any way of managing/deleting files (eg PDFs that you download) on the SD card from the phone itself ? ie can you do it without connecting to a PC and mounting as disk drive ?Also - just bought a 16gb SD card and it seems like the speed of access/saving photos and transferring music from PC is much slower than with the 4GB card that came with the phone.
