Jun 4, 2010I hate having to hit the top button and unlock the phone just to hang up a call. I know I can make the screen never turn off but that won't help me much.

View 4 RepliesSo i rooted with Droid Does rom, because i heard its nice and fast and what not. So basically the only problem i have with it is this.
When on a call, the proximity sensor doesnt work, so the screen goes black. And when i press the end call button to turn the screen back on it just ends the call. Is this normal? Or a known issue?
During a call my screen goes blank; I am unable press the end call immediately ..
View 4 Replies View RelatedOftentimes when I attempt to end a phone call the screen goes dark and I am not able to end a call. I have read other websites in which users have had similar issues. Will this issue be addressed and fixed soon in a firmware update?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
I'm using LauncherPro plus and cannot get back to the call screen to disconnect the call, the one in progress, if i leave that screen for any reason like to go to the home screen. If I switch over to HTC Sense I just hit the phone button from the home screen and it takes me back to the call in progress and I see a red 'end call' button. Is there a solution for this problem other than , just don't leave the call screen?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Evo that hangs up on everyone that calls me.I keep the phone in my pocket and, in trying to pull it out to answer a call, my leg slides the bar.I could keep the phone in my pocket upside down and then I would answer every call but that isn't much of an alternative.I am looking for something that overrides the Sense's lockscreen/answer screen.I tried both GoTo and WidgetLocker. Both are great programs but neither addresses the incoming call issue.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am going crazy here... I've had this thing since it launched and everything is great except I keep hitting buttons with my face during calls! I mute, sometimes end calls, start 3 way calls etc and I have no idea how to prevent it. Is there any way I can make the screen lock during phone calls or change the call screen altogether?
View 12 Replies View RelatedWith the old 1.6 software on my X10, the lack of an automatic screen lock when in an active call was mildly annoying, as not all areas of the screen were active. However, with the new 2.1, just about anywhere on the screen becomes active (especially when juggling two simultaneous calls). What are the chances that we'll see a 'lock screen' function for phone calls? Those of us who actually use the phone for phone calls whilst holding it would surely appreciate it. Other android devices have had this for years.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to check the screen orientation (I mean whether the screen in landscape or portrait mode) while the outgoing call is going on.If it possible please suggest me how to achieve that.
View 2 Replies View Related1) After I make a call, the screen goes black in a matter of seconds. I'm typically using a headset when I notice this. To end the call (or enter numbers in a call menu) I need to press the sleep button to get the screen to light up again. This is a pain in the a$$.I have the screen timeout set for 2 mins.
2) About once or twice a day the home screen will lock where I can't press anything. I need to reboot to fix.
Just got a lg eve for my wife and she is pisst at it for one reason..
the screen goes of when your in a call?so you need to activate the screen then press end call..is there something to prevent this?
is there a app?
I use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.
Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)
My main gripe, is that the display turns off during a call. My instinct has already been to push the On/Off button to turn the display back on, but this also hangs up the call.I also find it VERY cumbersome that by default the numeric keypad is not there, a ALOT of calls are "push 1.. push 2 " type automated calls.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do you control the screen being on or off during a call? My screen blanks, I guess to keep you from hitting buttons with your ear, but when using a bluetooth headset it also blanks. Sometimes tilting the phone wakes the display, sometime the top button does. But sometimes neither hs an effect, and the screen remains off until the call is over. Anyone else have this, and figure it out? Are there settings somewhere to control this behavior?
I have an HTC Desire and I managed to break the LCD. I had the LCD and touchscreen replaced (don't ask long story) and now I have the following issue: When I make a call and even before I lift the phone to my ear the screen goes blank. None of the buttons work but the call is fine - I can be heard/hear the other person. When the other person ends the call the phone bips to tell me the call is over, but the screen stays blank. I can re-activate the screen by receiving a missed call - ie calling my phone and then hanging up re-activates the screen. In addition, when my phone rings the screen is fine, but as soon as I answer the call and lift the phone to my ear the screen goes off as before. The only other way to bring the screen back is to remove the battery. Whilst the screen is blank I loose all touch-screen capability too. Everything else on the phone works perfectly, sync to email, text, GPS, camera, internet etc all not a problem.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is only a problem when I make calls which require entering a number to select an option(i.e., press 1 for...).I know the screen times out(?) when on calls normally and that it will light up again when it senses the call has ended, but if I have to see the keyboard to press a number to make a selection, pressing the power button to bring it up usually takes too long. By the time I get the screen up and press a button, the system on the other end doesn't recognize it. OR, I'll press the power button and it won't come up at all.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have loaded two different app killers. The first one was Advanced Task Killer and the other was called Android Task Manager (I think that was the name of it), it had the little Android guy as the icon. Anyhow I liked both of them. I liked the fact that I could ignore apps and also see what was going on with memory. The issue I had was this. When I was on a call, my call screen would completely freeze up (I was still connected to the outside party) but was unable to press any keys. Even after the caller would hang up the phone was still frozen.
To get it functional again I would have to pull the battery out to reset the phone. The only time I have experienced this issue is when I have had these apps on my phone. And no I did not have them installed on the phone at the same time. I had task killer first, uninstalled it and then tried the other one. I know there is a huge debate regarding whether you need an app killer or not but I am just interested in knowing if anyone else has experienced this same issue.
Is there not some way to lock the screen during a call? when i hold it with my shoulder or talk while laying
down, my cheek/chin will end the call..
Really annoying that while on a speaker call the screens times out then I have to hit the bottom at the top of the phone to turn on and end call. Should I just increase time to timeout - but then I will be killing batter?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI use my phone in the car a lot, currently with the headset supplied with phone until i get a different solution.
When i am on a longer call the phone is on the pasenger seat and i chat away. The screen goes off as usual after the time i have set, i think it is 1 minute.
When i have ended the call i would like the screen to come back on automatically or respond to a single screen press. I do not want to have to press the power button on top again to get the phone back on.
When i am in the car i am powered on so maybe i can just set the timeout to 20 minutes?
I had it on my droid but I have since retired that beauty for a Samsung Fascinate. I am looking for the app that allows you to be taken to your home screen after you end a call instead of going to that persons contact card or the call log screen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to change which screen you see after you end a call? Mine takes me back to the dialer with my contacts. I want it to just go back to the home screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem,(verizon incredible) when im streaming music via bluetooth in the car and check my notification slide down bar no problem but if im on a call using bluetooth via the car stereo when i want to look at my notifications or press "2" for an automated system my screen will flicker on and off and you have to time it right to catch it before the screen dims im talking a split second i thought maybe it was the proximity sensor that dims the screen to save battery when the phone is on your ear but i have no clue why this is, i ruled out the proximity sensor cause the phone would be in my hand or on my bracketron universal windshield mount
Also if i try using the power button to bring the screen on again it does nothing but confuses the phone and slows it down
I know its not the screen timeout cause it comes back without hitting the power button.
So annoying that when you come to end the call the backlight has gone out so you cant end without going back into the phone to see the end call button..anyway around this? And are there any apps that lock the volume button?
View 12 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to change the screen with the little Droid Dude while you are making or receiving a call?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen you make a call, you naturally put the phone up to your ear. I noticed that as soon as it is near my face, the screen shuts off. At first, I thought it was the motion of bringing your phone up to the ear that does it. But test it by putting your hand near it and it shuts the screen off.
I have a number programmed that uses P's (pauses). It pauses for 3xP's while the phone rings, then enters a couple more digits (my office voicemail code). But when the screen shuts off, it never dials the additional digits. If I hold the phone in front of me, the screen stays on and it dials all of the numbers.
So how does it know the phone is up to my ear? I would like to shut this feature off...
I want to display an alert in the call screen when the user initiates a call.
Currently I have:
- A class MyAlert extends Activity to view and process the alert
- A class CallReceiver extends BroadCastReceiver to process the call
From CallReceiver, I launch the alert with startActivity on MyAlert. The problem is that the alert appears in my main activity, so we don't see it at the right time, but only if we open the app, what is totally useless.
How come whenever I'm conversing with someone on the phone, my screen blinks on and off whenever I try to use it? Is there a way to fix this? Or is this a hardware problem?
