I am interested in finding a contacts app replacement that syncs with Google Contacts. I like the stock contacts app that comes with the EVO except in one regard. I MUST have larger fonts for my old eyes. I really need an app that has an option for text size customization.

I have this triplication problem;
1. I have a Google Apps account with my contacts/calendar etc
2. I have my work exchange account
3. I have Outlook 2007 standalone on my home laptop to access gmail etc
I have always used WM devices in the past and kept the work exchange and home outlook in sync using the device.
So when I got this, I synced outlook and exchange, got a copy of the PST and uploaded it into my google account.
Set up google and exchange, and installed htc sync on the laptop and synced phone, now I have 3 sets of addresses and 2 sets of calenders with the same thing. How best to sort this!
If I am at work I would add things etc to my exchange, and at home to outlook stand alone, is there an app that syncs the 3 together!
are there any other contact apps that sync the facebook pics.. also what is a good replacement dialer..

View 3 Replies View RelatedI posted this in the HTC Desire Tips and Tricks forum but think that may have been the wrong place, so trying here.I entered a years worth (2011) of appointments in Google calendar; mainly on Sundays but a few other days as well.I then left the automatic sync with my HTC Desire to update the phone.I was then looking at the appointments when I noticed that some had not synced. These are all those whose date in 2011 is later than this years date e.g. an appointment in Google for Sunday 20th November 2011 has synced to my Desire but the appointment from 27th November 2011 has not;nor have those for the rest of the Sundays in 2011.Over the two last days I have also done several manual syncs and rebooted phone.Some weeks ago I entered an appointment for 2012 and this has synced. I also brought forward a lot of appointments from my Palm TX, most for 2010 but one for July 2015, and these all synced.
Today I added two more appointments. On before 24th November 2011 and one after; the one before synced but the one after did not. I have also deleted one of the missing appointments from Google and re-entered it; still not on my Desire even after a manual sync.Is it possible that the Desire has a limit of say the number of entries or only one years worth from today's date (that does not explain the 2012 and 2015 appointments synced at an earlier time!)This morning I entered a further appointment for today and that has synced to my Desire. The others still not have.I also sync Google Calendar to Outlook on my Desktop; this has synced correctly.
I've just downloaded the latest update for GooMemo. Great news - it now will sync with Google Documents!GooMemo - Android Notes application.The developer had originally planned that this would be part of a paid-for premium version, but very kindly he has released it for free.For those of us Palm refugees who miss having memos synced between handheld and desktop I think this is the only application that does it properly. I haven't played with it very much yet, but it seems to work very well. In Google Documents all your memos are put into a spreadsheet with a different sheet for each category and each memo on its own row. This is maybe not the prettiest of options, but it makes it all very transparent, and easy to export your notes in CSV form if you want to move them elsewhere. The only slight irritation I've had is that it won't remember my Gmail password and I have to rekey it each time I want to sync.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem on my HTC one (stock rom) which cropped up shortly after taking the most recent update from Verizon.
In short, my Google Calendar is now crashing every time I refresh it in the calendar (i.e., pull down on a calendar day). Even with my all accounts set to NOT sync with Calendar and my calendar data cleared, it STILL crashes constantly. A screenshot of the crash is below. I have not installed any new apps or done anything "interesting" other than receive the VZW update. I live and die by my calendar, so this is a gigantic problem for me.
Here's specifically what I've tried to do to fix this and what happens:
1) Disabled syncing of my 2 gmail accounts to this calendar.
2) Force-stopped the calendar app
3) Cleared the calendar data
4) Verified there are no events shown on the calendar UI
5) Opened calendar and either wait a bit, or pull down to refresh.
6) Receive "Unfortunately, Calendar has stopped"
The crash is always the same: "TimeFormatException,Unexpected character 0x5a at pos=8. Expected T.,Time.java,-2"
I have found "jorte" which i like better than the native calendar. I like having the appts. separate from the tasks. But tasks don't sync with Google calendar.
Is there one that is similar to jorte but syncs tasks with Google calendar?
Is there any way to replace the htc contacts app with the vanilla contacts app?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI searched "contacts" and didn't see anything. I have a Moto Droid 1, was chatting with someone who has a Epic and their contacts app has a bunch more fields. I tried about 6 free ones from the Market and they all stunk really bad. I don't mind paying for one, I just want something that offers more than what I got. Also, would it be possible if I found somebody with a Samsung Epic for them to pull the .APK off their device and me putting it on mine? Mine's rooted if that helps.

Also, all my contacts are phone contacts, not gmail contacts, will HTC sync application help me backup my contacts and restore them? I haven't replaced an HTC phone yet so please forgive my innocence. I'm a converted BB user and now never going back to anything but Droid. Also, will i be receiving LCD screen instead AMOLED screen? View 17 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a way to get around using Voicemail from my carrier.Firstly, here we pay for the service as well as retrieval of voice messages.It would be good if i could get tasker to answer a call, play a voice recording or media to the call stream, and then record the response.
Once that part is done then i can do whatever i want with he recording.Also, I am not in the US, so i cant use Google Voice.
I seem to be having a sync issue with my Droid.When I add a contact to my phone, it doesn't sync into "My contacts" in Gmail; it'll sync into "All contacts". So, a couple of questions:
1) How can I get the phone to add new contacts created on my Droid into "My contacts" in Gmail?
2) I'm trying to understand the point of "All contacts". Why does Gmail want to keep a list of anyone that I've ever sent an email to? Otherwise, it'll be simple enough to just merge the two groups and call it a day.(Note: When I bought my Droid I did NOT have the VZW sales person transfer my contacts or any data from my old Blackberry to my Droid. I used Google Sync on my BB and synced my contacts from my BB to Gmail, then when I got the Droid, it automatically pulled my contacts from Gmail.)(FWIW, yes, I did a search and found two great threads: http://androidforums.com/support-troubleshooting/15042-how-do-i-push-droid-contacts-back-gmails-my-contacts.html and http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/15069-contacts-dont-really-synchronize.html but I have a different situation than most of those guys and I'd actually prefer to sift through and merge a couple of contacts from "All contacts" to "My contacts" every once in a while than deal with a backup and factory reset.)
Looks like I have a dead pixel issue on my camera.. when I get a replacement, can that transfer all my settings and everything over, or do I need to downbload and install and setup everything all over again? I'm using launcher pro, and setting up all 7 home pages again takes a LOT of time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my Droid there was a setting to only sync Facebook data for contacts who also were Google contacts. On the X, there doesn't seem to be that option anymore. I don't want all of my Facebook "friends" to show up in my contact list on my phone but I would like Facebook data to sync for my actual contacts in my Google contact list. Has anyone figured this out?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I switched to the Samsung Fascinate from a previous non-smart phone, I transferred all of my contacts from the phone over. I think in the setup somewhere I chose to convert my contacts to Google contacts. That was really confusing at first, because I didn't know what it did, and didn't even remember I had done that until recently. I'd like to get the contacts back to phone contacts (not Google contacts) for multiple reasons, which I won't bother listing for now. So, does anyone know how to UN-convert or re-convert Google contacts back into phone contacts? I really don't want to have to recreate all of the phone contacts, because I've got a LOT of them. I would remove my Google account from the phone, but I worry that would remove all of my contacts completely, which wouldn't help me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn Google Contacts I've entered birthdays and subscribed to the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar in Google Calendar.They show up as intended in Google Calendar but in my phones calendar they're all listed twice. Unsubscribing from the contacts birthdays calendar makes both disappear, so they're not from some other calendar.Is this a bug in the Galaxy S calendar? Any solutions?

I don't want to do the .csv backup and all that just sync all Phone and Google contacts to Google. The reason is because when Verizon transfers your numbers, they get saved as Phone contacts but from what I understand,the update only re-syncs your Google contacts.So is there a quick/easy way to do this?She is not very tech-savvy.I just want to make sure she does this before she upgrades,so she doesn't lose all of her phone numbers.
View 17 Replies View RelatedMy wife's phone - which is a ZTE Blade running 2.2 - is losing it's favorites in the contacts manager each time it syncs to Google Contacts.
I looked up her Google Contacts [URL] and there is no "Starred in Android" group, as it should be. I think it should be automatically created when she fovorites a contac in her phone. But instead, it deletes the starring of the contacts in the phone each time it syncs.
I don't want my contacts to be synced with Google. IIRC, this was possible in 2.x. Having upgraded to 4.0.4, I'm not able to disable Google contacts.
I'd like to:
1. Disable contact sync (this works)
2. Change all contacts from Google contacts to phone contacts
3. Add new contacts as phone contacts by default.
Using the "Accounts and Sync" settings, I'm only able to deselect "Sync Contacts", but I can't find a way to move the contacts and disable the creation of new Google contacts.
My Facebook contacts are merging with my ICS "People" address book and Google contacts. I don't want this.
I opened the FB app from my Rezound (ICS) and looked at the settings. The "Sync Contacts" option is set to "Don't sync"
Then I looked in the Android Settings --->Accounts&sync--->facebook where there are three boxes, sync calendar, sync contacts, and sync live feed. I made sure all those boxes are unchecked.
I figured I'd just try deleting FB from my Rezound but it seems to be undeletable if that's a word. It's like standard bloatware that I actually use on occasion.
So why are my FB contacts still merged with my Google contacts? I am seeing my contacts with their FB photo and this drives me crazy. I don't want FB communicating with my address book. Gingerbread didn't do this.
how google accounts work. I got a phone previously owned by a family member and all his contacts are still in the phone. I was wondering if it is possible to delete all the contacts on the phone but not affect his google account contacts? Also, if i reformat the phone, will this delete all his google contacts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a HTC hero (Orange). With talks of android updates becoming available, there seems to be a mad rush to back up everything so that nothing is lost on the update. There are many ways of doing this, but one of the most common problems, is that people have their contacts saved as 'Phone' contacts and not 'Google' contacts. This means that they will not sync with Google mail. There was no contact export available to me (I think because my firmware was still 1.5).
This seems to be a solution that will solve the problem without having to write out every single contact number in Google mail.
1. Enter android market.
2. Search 'Contact sync'
3. Download/Install this application.
4. Run the application
5. All contacts will be turned from 'Phone' contacts to 'Google' Contacts
6. These contacts will then be synchronized with your Google mail
This means that if your contacts are lost on your phone at any point (eg. an update), they can easily be 'Exported' back to your phone through Google mail.
There are 1000 people trying to get their phone contacts to become google contacts, but i want my google contacts to become phone contacts so i can get them to sync to my windows contacts.
