I opened my android emulator & now i like to execute my application. How much time it will take to install that application in emulator?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working with Eclipse and writing an Android application. I've noticed that the load times to the Android emulator can vary significantly. Recently, I found that manually going back to the main menu of the emulator helps my application load much faster. Is there a quicker way (read: automatic way) to exit out of my application rather than hitting the Back button multiple times until I get to the main app menu? Secondly, is there something I am doing wrong that factors into the longer load time?
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen you got your phone set up JUST perfect, then blam-o something happens and you have to do a factory wipe of your phone, eliminating all your perfectly placed settings. wouldn't it be nice if there was an app that you could run to STORE all your settings, on your sd card, then if/when you have to do a wipe, OR get a new phone (of the same model) you can run this app and bingo bango, all your settings are just how they were before?

I have a nexus one also and did a quick comparison... both have relatively the same apps ( i keep them as synced as possible)
Now its not really an Apples to Apples Comparison as I have Froyo running on nexus but what made me raise an eyebrow was when the little Loading Indicator doesn't smoothly move while its loading.

YouTube videos takes longer to load. My browser sometimes doesn't load web pages completely and the speeds are way slower then 3g... Well atleast on my end... I'm in Baltimore and 4g is very much up and running. Not ranting, its just that 4g was one of sprints selling points, jus think it could be a bit better.
View 10 Replies View Relatedat the moment I am thinking about a new app and need some information to decide whether to develop on Android or an alternative OS. I am particularly interested in "time to first screen", "boot-up time", "time to first Audio" and "app-start" (can be any from the android market or even one of the pre-installed ones) time? Does anyone know a source or perhaps measured those numbers?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to guess why a user would report "Force quits every time I load" the problem does not occur for all users, especially not me.The system constructs a database when it first loads. I suspect that user's phone does not have enough memory.Questions: How can I verify that the system has enough memory to store a small database?
What else might cause a user's particular system to force quit on startup?Wrong answers or things I've tried thus far:The user's hardware is probably different than mine The user's software and available memory is likely different as well The data is already loading in its own thread, with a progress dialog showing
I got Android Kitkat update for Moto G this Friday, here at India .. Update went smooth and looks good. But now the phone dialpad does not load at all the first time I touch the dialpad icon (it brings up a small white panel layout). Pressing the dialpad again second time loads up the new cool dialpad introduced in 4.4.2 kitkat update.

I am Cooking ROM based on 4.0.4... There is Data and Time in Settings... it is set by Default to 12 Hour Fomrat. You have to check the 24 Hr Time Format to enable it.
My Problem is that there is a bug in my ROM with status bar which isnt accepting 12 hr Time. Status bar Force Closes non Stop until I go to Settings>Date & Time and change it to 24 Hr format.
Being ROM Cooker I dont want my users to see the first screen to appear as "SystemUI has Closed" after Flashing Fresh ROM...
The only solution I have to prevent is to set the time to 24 Hr by default. i.e enable Check ON like some other options in Settings which are checked by default..
I saw everyhere in Settings.apk but there is no place I could change it..
in res/xml I saw a file date_time_prefs.xml.. it has code below
Code:
<CheckBoxPreference android:title="@string/date_time_24hour" android:key="24 hour" android:defaultValue="true" />
I added the last line android:defaultValue="true" to set it to default checked but still after a fresh install it isnt checked..
How and where I can set it to default checked?
I need to change the time on my LG Optimus M (Metro PCS) to compensate for the day light saving. however I can't find from where should I do it, I don't see anything else other than the time and date format under Date and time settings. I read about a Client NTP which solves the problem, however your phone needs to be rooted, is it safe to root them and run the Client NTP?Also is there any other ways to change the time?

Whenever I try to view my location, zoom in or out, or drag the map around, all I get is the white pixilated screen. Sometimes it will load, sometimes it won't. Sometimes it takes over 3 minutes to load. I don't understand because I've checked my 3G connection and it's strong - I'm assuming the phone connects to the internet to download the maps. I used to have a Hero and it wasn't this slow.

CODE:.............
The app has a list view to display all contacts and use the ContactPhotoLoader in the stock contact app to load the contact photo async. When running, some contact photo can be displayed correctly and some cannot.
When clicking on the list items, the app will start the view contact activity of the stock contacts app:
CODE:..............
For the contacts, which photo cannot be displayed properly, is able to display correctly in the stock view contact activity. I have compared the source code of the stock contacts app and my app. They are doing the same thing basically. I have also checked for the permissions used by my app are covered the set of permissions used by the stock contacts app.
i like the app but its way to slow to actually load up email. its faster to just go to k9 and pull it there.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI came across an interesting issue when testing android 2.2.
My testing was to use webview api,webview.loadUrl(url);
If url is from any public domain, ex, www.google.com, the web content is rendered very well.
[url]
If url is from local host, ex, tomcat with port 8080, the web content is rendered as well.
[url]
But if url is from other port, ex, websphere with port 9080, the web content is not rendered.
[url]
There is no exception thrown, and it shows blank on the emulator.
Is there any setting needed for different port?
I'll try to make the Question CLEAR/SHORT/Strait forward...
Is there a file within the rooted Android system that can be edited to change the order of the application while booting up the device?
For example:
After you Flash the ROM, if you have installed Application "A" the Application "B" ..."C"...etc.
When the device is booting, some times you find that Application "C" is loaded before Application "A".
What i need is:
Application "A" to be always loaded FIRST then "C" then "B .......etc...
I tried to check "init.rc" and some others without success...
I'd like to store some application settings (like the URL of an API, and some settings for testing) for an Android app.I mostly work as a .net developer, so I'm used to using an app.config for this purpose. What's a good way to do it in Android?
