HTC EVO 4G :: How To Delete Hanging Widget?
Sep 23, 2010This must be a first? I searched here and on google. This screen shot was taken while I was holding down the square widget so it would "hide" the dock and you could see the widget hanging off the edge. Is there anyway to delete it? I'm not rooted.

Aug 16, 2010I entered a friend into my contact list and added him to my Favorites widget. I want to remove him from my favorites widget now, but not from my contacts list. How do I do this? It keeps deleting the entire contact. I've edited the contact and removed him from Favorites group and I've gone into People, Groups, & removed the contact from Favorites but when I go to my contact list, he doesn't show up anymore. Why?! If I go to the Favorites widget and add a new favorite then the contact shows up again. But if I just open up people and scroll down-no contact showing up!

I'm never going to use the others. Dazzle is another, there are 4 different widgets that came with the widget from the marketplace but I only use one, never going to use the rest. Jun 28, 2010Whenever i go into my messages(texts), it loads up fine. But when I go to open any conversations It takes atleast 30 seconds before anything happens. I've tried deleting messages, but that did nothing. Literally nothing. Like no messages deleted. Also, my Micro USB port is being a little haywire. To get it to charge or connect to my computer, I have to hold down the cable, so that it's at an angle. This is the only way it'll charge. This just started happening last night. I've treated this thing very nice, and I haven't dropped it once. I'm thinking about taking it into a Sprint store to see what they can do. I just downloaded the update today, and the hardware version is 0002.

After upgrading to Gmail 4.3 on both of my devices (TF101 running Team EOS 4, and One S running LiquidSmooth 2.1), I had the ability to archive/delete from notifications. However, I noticed that this function was missing yesterday; it's gone back simply to "swipe to dismiss".

Jun 29, 2010I've done a search through the threads to see if I can find the same issue, so please forgive me if I'm duplicating anything here. I have an HTC Desire on Orange. Until earlier today, my weather widget was working fine, it knew where I was and it updated the weather accurately. This afternoon it recognizes my location correctly but now says 'no weather data available'. It still shows weather for the other locations - London, Paris, etc, but not for where I am now. The only thing I can think of that has changed is that I just installed an update on an app I have (White Noise Lite from TMSOFT). Might uninstalling this app help? I tried to manually add in my location, wondering if this would work, but it is not available on the list of locations. I've tried removing and then re-adding the weather widget to my home screens. I've tried turning my phone off and on again, in the spirit of all IT helpdesk encounters I've ever had.

Apr 29, 2010The wifi toggle widget that comes standard on the phone is not working for me. When wifi is off, I press the toggle widget and the small bar goes up showing that wifi is connected. But at the top bar, it still says 3G and doesn't show the wifi bars symbol. Only when I go into the settings menu does it connect to wifi. Anyone else having this problem? And keep in mind, this is the wifi widget that is already on the phone, not from the marketplace.

Wrote a small widget to do that job for me. And its working fine
My question is .... I haven't added any permissions in the Manifest file, and also the widget is not asking for any Root request when i use it.... Shoudn't the widget give error since no write permission is available in the manifest and shouldnt it ask for Root access since it is trying to write to a system partition?
I have attached the Eclipse project folder of that widget also.

Jul 27, 2010ive the news feed widget on my homescreen and it just shows the headlines til the other day i just had to press the headline i was interested in and it took me to another page showin headline and saying press for full story. if pressed took you to the bbc site onto that story. now if you press it just does nothing. it flashes green so it knows its been touched but doesnt do anything. ive not changed any settings or anything
