I tried to receive a file from an another phone, but the status on my Droid Eris kept saying "paired but not connected" even though I tried to connect many times.

Why does the phone say PAIRED BUT NOT CONNECTED? How do i connect it to the other phone. To be more specific the other phone is the ERIS. So is it even possible to send songs, pics, etc to other phones from the DROID? And can the ERIS even accept bluetooth file transfers?

is it just me or does the droid not like my bluetooth headset? its paired and everything and the phone is connected but the headset is not being used. i tried accessing the voice dial on my headset and nothing happens i try calling someone on my droid and the sound comes out of the speakers not the headset.
View 27 Replies View RelatedMy Droid shows my Mac computer under Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth Devices >. I can see it listed and it says "Paired but not connected". I then, on my Mac under the BT control panels, see "Droid" listed and it is also "paired but not connected."
Well, when I tell my Droid to "connect" via Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth Devices > press my computers name (or long press and select "Connect") it grays out and says "connecting" and then my computer shows it as "connected". But, in a few seconds, the Droid reverts back to "Paired but not connected" and the Mac then also goes back to showing the Droid as "Not Connected".
I want to try this app that allows me to use my speaker and mic on my Mac to take and place phone calls, via BT, on my Droid - but I can't get the 2 to stay "connected" via BT. They pair, but wont connect. It pairs perfect with my car instantly every time.
According to my HTC Desire, it's paired with my Nexxus (DrivesleekPro) hands free kit but not connected. When I make a call or have an incoming call the hands-free is ignored and the handset takes over. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI paired EVO with my HP HDX (model HDX X18T-1200 CTO) easy enough, but it says 'paired but not connected' on my phone. I'd want to utilize this for PDAnet and file transfer if possible but hit a brick wall since it won't connect. I'm wondering whether this is something on the computer side of things, I've never done it before (because the hero would never be discovered on bluetooth) so I am curious as to how to proceed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have paired the Moment with my car and have been able to make/receive calls. Sometimes it takes five or ten minutes to connect. Lately, it hasn't connected at all. I tried deleting the phone and re-pairing it, but that did not help. Yes, Bluetooth is ON. The car is listed on the Moment, stating "Paired but not Connected." Any ideas?

If your Bluetooth headset works great with the Moment (e.g. connects consistently, good sound quality, etc.) Please post the manufacturer and model in this thread. Likewise, if your headset stinks, that is probably good information also, so post that too.
Just paired via bluetooth my Droid to my laptop and sent a file. I right clicked on the bluetooth icon in the taskbar and clicked send file. I selected the file when the notification appeared on the Droid I accepted and the file was sent.

Whenever I receive a message though, the sound is VERY faint and almost silent. The media volume is all the way up... Is this a phone or Handcent problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated my Eris to 2.1 about a month ago, and it's been running fine up until about last week. Lately, the battery hasn't been lasting me more than 12 hours, and I've done everything I can to save battery life, plus the battery cover usually gets hot enough to cook some eggs on top of. The problems I've encountered lately is with making and receiving calls. When trying to call someone, it seems to take forever. I know my phone isn't the fastest Android, but it used to work fine. It takes a good 30 seconds just to type in a 10 digit number; the phone usually freezes a couple of times, its just generally laggy.
When I try to receive a call, the same basic thing happens. The phone freezes up while I am trying to slide the bar down on the lock screen, etc. Here's the main issue. After sifting through the freezing and lagging, and finally get to the call, I cannot hear anything, and they cannot hear me. The call is connected; I see the notification up top, and I have got the vibrate to tell me it's connected.
I installed/paid for the PDANet on my Droid- and it works great! awesome! then after a bit of run time my phone 'locks' up... and i dont mean lock up like i have to hard restart it or it force closes... what it does is that the send/receive icon at the top it still shows I'm connected to the 3G, but the arrows are locked on send... and after about 15-30 seconds the send arrow clicks off and i can continue doing what i was previously doing...
any ideas on why this is happening?
my droid and pdanet are up to date, and my comp is running xp...
and i did try to contact the pdanet tech people... but after 2 days of waiting I'm getting kind of antzy on a fix.
I am wondering if there is an app to print from my eris when I am connected to my wifi at home.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Eris. The "roller-ball" thing quick working on the phone so I ordered a new one. Now I want to get all the contacts from the old phone onto the new phone. How do I do this?
I have already gotten a gmail account. I also got an application on the Eris that was called "Export Contacts" which seems to export my contacts from the phone into a .cvs file which I think is saved on the SD card.
Now, how do I get get that .CVS file from the old phone to go into gmail??? If I could do that, then maybe I could get the contacts from the gmail into my new phone.
How do I do this?

I USED to be able to transfer files to my Vista32 machine from my Droid Eris (and vice versa) perfectly fine.
WHAT USED TO HAPPEN:
1) Connect Droid Eris to computer via mini-USB/USB cable
2) A little ding from the computer indicates it recognizes something was plugged into the USB port
3) the "safely remove hardware icon" would appear in the system tray of my computer
4) A "USB Connected" Notification would appear up in the notification bar of my Eris
5) Drag the notification bar down and select the "USB Connected" Notification
6) A prompt would come up on my Eris asking me if I'd like to "Mount"...I would.
7) A dialog would open on my computer asking me if I'd like to "Open files to view folders" along with a bunch of other options. In "My Computer" I'd see a drive "F:" for the Eris
8) Move files to and fro
9) When done moving files: close out all windows, open the "safely remove hardware" and click until hardware could safely be removed, unplug USB cable
THE RELATIONSHIP CHANGING EVENT:
Then one day while the USB cable was plugged in and I was happily transferring files I noticed that the safely remove hardware icon wasn't there. Once I was finished transferring files I thought, "Oh well, I'll make sure to close out all Eris related files/folders and just unplug the USB cable." Apparently that was a mistake. (3,7,8,9 are different from before while 1,2,4,5 are the same):
WHAT HAPPENS NOW:
1) Connect Droid Eris to computer via mini-USB/USB cable
2) A little ding from the computer indicates it recognizes something is plugged into the USB port
3) NO safely remove hardware icon appears
4) A "USB Connected" Notification appears up in the notification bar of my Eris
5) Drag the notification bar down and select the "USB Connected" Notification
6) A prompt comes up on my Eris asking me if I'd like to "Mount"...I would. (after selected the notifications changes to read "Select to turn off USB storage" indicating that the phone thinks something has happened
7) NO dialog opens on my computer and NO new drive appears in "My Computer"
8) I'm NOT able to move files to and fro
9) I just remove the cable
BIZARRE UPDATE:
1) I select the "HTC Sync"
notification on my Eris (Really no reason to do this. I don't have HTC Sync installed on my computer and have no need to use it. Just thought I'd select it and see what happens)
2) After some time, dialog "Next Step" comes up reading that the Eris is "Unable to find HTC Sync on [my] PC...". I select "OK"
3) Now a "safely remove hardward icon" appears in the system tray of my computer and I'm able to do all the file transferring I want, close, safely remove hardware, and start again.
ANOTHER PIECE OF INFO:
What "USED" to happen works perfectly find on my roommate's Vista32 machine indicating that there's maybe something funny happening on the PC side of my Eris-PC debacle.
I apologize if this has already been asked and answered. Obviously I'm new here and not real sure how the search function goes.
Anyway, can I delete the 2.1 file off my SD card once it's installed on my phone? If so, what's the easiest way to do that.
I read the other posts about WiFi but mine seems a little different. This just started happening a few days ago. I understand that when the phone goes to sleep it shuts off it's WiFi thats fine although I'd rather it not but eh whatcha gonna do about it. The problem I have is that after it wakes back up it says that it's scanning for networks. I have a lot of WiFi networks in my neighborhood and none of them show up. The work around I've found for this for the time being is to shut the WiFi off and then turn it back on. When I do this it connects back to my WiFi and life goes on.

I had this happen with an LG Chocolate before and had to get it replaced.
I have 3bars of service for wifi strength and when I try to go to the market place, or even the internet,I cant connect? I've tried switching with mobile data on and off and same thing happens.I have no problem getting on line with digital coverage tho.

I have sound when Bluetooth headphones are connected. When no headphones are connected music does not play thru speaker either.

Im using the stock messaging app and for about 3 weeks or so I haven't been able to receive an MMS messages. Everytime i receive one it will say in the notification bar "message not downloaded, retransmission scheduled for xx:xx" and in the actual message there is an option to download but when that is selected it just reverts back to the message in the notification bar.
