I receive a lot of texts, but it seems on the Eris, I only get one notification that I have recieved a text. I am used to my LG reminding me every 2 minutes that I have a text. Am I missing a setting?

I have a song set for it and it plays all the way through until I get to the message and I'd like to be able to silence it. I know I can silence the phone when I am getting a call by pressing the volume buttons on the side, but I can't figure out a way to silence the text ring notification.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a HTC hero unlocked, using an Oragne sim card. This happened 3 times in the past 4 days that I know of and I am not recieving text messages. I was using Chomp SMS as my text program but now uninstalled that hoping it may fix it. I power cycle my phone daily, this does not solve the issue or then send me the missed texts. Thanks
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have set a notification sound for both my ring and notification. When I recieve my text messages now, the phone only vibrates. It used to always give me the notification sound as well. Ringer notification is fine. It is not set in the vibrate mode.

On my Eris, it appears in my music section. How do I set it as my notification sound? It is not appearing in the "sound" list for notifications.
I was just wondering if anyone knew a way to get rid of the notification telling you your text message has been sent successfully. Ever since I updated the new software this morning I keep getting these notifications when I send a text and it's driving me up the wall! My ringtone works as my new one. My notification sound plays my preference (Clapton's Layla) when I have an email and such, however, when I get a text message, it still plays the default sound. Is there somewhere you change this other than notification sounds?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried to delete all my text messages by going to manage applications, force stop on it and clear data. It didn't delete my messages but now the options to set a specific notification sound for text messages is grayed out.
1. How do I delete ALL text messages from ALL contacts?
2. How do I un-grey the notification sound options?
Does anyone know if there is a way to change the text that always says "Verizon Wireless" when you pull down the notification bar? I am currently not rooted, but will be doing so in the next few days (I'm still trying to decide what ROM i want to flash to start out). I don't know if this is even possible, but I thought it would be another good way to make my phone unique.

(I don't know why there isn't a website where I can see all the apps available, why must you do it from your handset only?). And either way, does the notification count as a text message? I don't text much, but I might need to buy a higher level text plan if so.

My problem is that my wife mainly, or ppl will call or text me and i will not recieve ANY notification of a missed call or text. Usually with my old phone "samsung eternity" i would recieve a missed call or text later once my phone got reception again. Any one else having this problem and also any fixes? My only idea is my task killer might be messing up with it. But i've ignored anything that has to do with text or calls.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI try to select just a certain part of a message I've received, and it seems the only way to copy anything is with a long press in the text field. Unfortunately the only option for copying is copy message and not selected text. I was able to select certain text and copy only it in the browser, but not in SMS/MMS (sometimes I need to copy an address or query). Does anyone know how to change this so I can copy only selected text (partial message)?

If I happen to get a notification sound, it is the default notification sound I set for my emails, et cetera. I use Handcent and have from the beginning. I set, reset, and reset my Handcent notification sound to be "pixie dust" but like I said, I'm not getting any notification sounds for my texts. Is anyone else having this issue on Nonsensikal? I didn't have this issue with version 12.5. Any advice, tips, or suggestions would be helpful.

Well, in a few cases I have saved words on accident, like I saved the word "tou" once by accident. So now every time I type that it stays at that and doesn't auto correct to "you." When someone calls or texts and ur not around the phone to hear it doesent the phone have a setting where it rings every 1 or 2 minutes. To alert you that you have some sort of message waiting. Other than the little tiny green light that blinks when u have a message. My env touch you could set it to alert you 1,2 5 15 30 minutes after initial message.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI sent a mass text out today. people started responding. But I am left with 1 notification for an unread text. Well, I have read that text, but it won't clear. I deleted the specific text, it won't clear the 1 in my status bar. When I pull my status bar dropdown menu, it shows the text, so I click on it and handcent force closes. I deleted the entire thread from the person, still didn't clear. Powered down, still didn't clear. DELETED handcent and reinstalled, still didn't clear.

1. i have the "Droid" voice ringtone but when i get a text message it says "Droid" twice idk why its doing that i thought i only have it set to go off once
2. also when i get a new message it gives me a notification in the bar on top and the only way to make it go away and make my led turn off is by manually dragging down the bar and clearing it! is there any way i can have it just not show up or fix it or something?
