Just got my droid x a few days ago. Wondering if there is any other text notification "pop up" besides the very top of the phone? I'm wondering if there is any kinda notification for a text like the iPhone has when it pops up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is my first smart phone. Very pleased with it so far. But Is there a setting Im missing somewhere. When someone calls or texts and ur not around the phone to hear it doesent the phone have a setting where it rings every 1 or 2 minutes. To alert you that you have some sort of message waiting. Other than the little tiny green light that blinks when u have a message. My env touch you could set it to alert you 1,2 5 15 30 minutes after initial message.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI sent a mass text out today. people started responding. But I am left with 1 notification for an unread text. Well, I have read that text, but it won't clear. I deleted the specific text, it won't clear the 1 in my status bar. When I pull my status bar dropdown menu, it shows the text, so I click on it and handcent force closes. I deleted the entire thread from the person, still didn't clear. Powered down, still didn't clear. DELETED handcent and reinstalled, still didn't clear.

1. i have the "Droid" voice ringtone but when i get a text message it says "Droid" twice idk why its doing that i thought i only have it set to go off once
2. also when i get a new message it gives me a notification in the bar on top and the only way to make it go away and make my led turn off is by manually dragging down the bar and clearing it! is there any way i can have it just not show up or fix it or something?
On my old phone (LG Dare) the phone would beep every x number of minutes if you did not read a new text message. Is there a way to set it up on the DX so that if i don't read a new text after the initial ring, it will beep or play the rington like every minute. this is the only feature i miss, bc sumtimes i walk away from my phone and miss the text coming in and i wont know its there unless i check my phone. I would like to have it beep or something every minute as a reminder that you have a text waiting.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIncoming texts (not using handcent) in the notification bar are 4 hours behind. When I click the text the time is correct once the text app launches, but the notification time is always off by 4 hours. I saw someone mention an offset??? Where is that and is that only for Handcent? Will that affect the time in the actual text app? Because that time is right.

This does this whether it's a pre-installed ringer or one of mine....kind of an annoying thing. Anyone have any idea how to fix it?

When I used to get texts on my old phone (LG Dare), the screen would light up for a couple of seconds everytime I received a new text message. With the Droid 2, it seems like I can only make the phone vibrate or make a notification sound. However, when I'm at work, I keep my phone on silent and can't have my phone constantly vibrating on my desk. Is there a way to set the notifications up so that my screen can alert me of a new message? I don't have the time to constantly check my phone for text messages during the day and I think I'm wearing out my battery quicker with the constant turning on and off of my screen to check for new texts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy friends Droid with 2.2 displays a weird notification window whenever she gets text messages. When she gets a text, the notification window comes up with the message, the background picture is a nicely rendered white Android holding a phone up to his "ear". Across the top, it says something along the lines of "leslie2099 is 0.7 miles away. Chat Now!". I'm an HTC Hero user with Cyanogenmod 6, so I am reasonably familiar with Froyo, but I can't figure out what this is from. Any ideas?

Buzz again and Droid! Again. So I think I got two texts when I have one. I don't have handecent or anything. View 11 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to rooted 2.2, I noticed that if I receive a text message at 10:18, it shows that I got it at 6:18 when I pull down the notification bar. When I click on it and go into text messages it shows the correct time though. Anyone else experience this? It's these minor things that are frustrating to me.

Can anyone tell me any roms and or themes that meet this criteria? Screenshots would be Awesome. I was thinking ultimate droid but I had a hard time finding screenshots for their lates versions.

AdamZ has updated method A (now called Droid Customizer) and it now changes all notification colors. It will overwrite any other changes you have previously made to the services.jar and framework-res.apk files so the manual method is still useful for people who have already made changes and don't want to lose them.

If you are familiar with the installation process of the smoked glass themes then this is an option. Has 13 color options as well as 12 font options that you can use.
B - Manually (sorta) change everything. I did it this way because AdamZ's method in A wasn't out yet and I think the way described in method A might overwrite other changes you have made (not sure on that though)
This will probably look long with a lot of steps but it really isn't too complicated.
Prerequisits
Rooted
Android sdk installed and some familiarity with adb
adb info: Start Here | Root Your Droid
1 - Plug in your phone and don't mount the sd card.
2 - On your computer open a command prompt and navigate to the android sdk tools folder.
3 - Type these commands:

1) How can I set the phone to NOT make sounds between certain hours?
2) How can I set different notification tones for txt vs. email? ..or better yet, txt v. POP email v. Gmail?
So I'm running fresh evo .5.3 (Or whatever that build was, old, I know), and near the middle of the day I realized my phone was playing my notification sound (and led would blink once) and then my phone would suddenly reboot. The only changes I had made were installing a couple random apps, which I've uninstalled since then. Also, installed handcent and I get the same result. Other notifications work fun, but any text ones freeze and instantly reboot my phone. I'll probably end up doing a full (everything I need is in the cloud, don't mind reinstalling apps) wipe and flash of fresh 3.2.

I didn't find anything exactly like my occurrences, so if it is here, sorry for re-posting the same thing. It appears that when I installed a sound FX app and attempted to use one of the sounds from the downloaded app (scream) as my ringtone and/or notification sound. My phone would restart anytime I would receive a notification that would use the sound (except for phone calls, which reset my ringtone to a default ring?
I reset the sounds to default settings and it hasn't restarted since. I was wondering if anyone knew why this was occurring? I would really like to use this sound effect (at least for awhile). I have went to the developers site and it seems to be an older app for the android market and really no information on the sound FX app there. I put the title "Any notification restarts Droid X" because that is what I was trying to find to resolve the problem I had, and maybe it will be helpful for some one else.
This has probably been asked before but I can't find anything in searches. Is there an app that allows you to customize the notification light on the X?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just switched from i Phone 4 to Droid X. Very exciting, since not only I have to learn how to use it but also I need to optimize the phone as well. (So much to do, I was bored with i Phone 4 ) So far battery life is not that great, drops 10 % every hour or 2 without heavy duty. (is this normal?) But yeah my question is every time I unlock the screen,(so when the screen wakes up) the notification light blinks with blue/red color. Is that normal? I checked Motorola, it wasn't on the manual.
