I am trying to get google goggles on my eris, but can not. I search it in the market and it says it can not find it. So I go onto appbrain.com and find the app on there and download it so i can install it on my phone. When I click the install on my phone it takes me, back to the marketplace saying it can not find google goggles. Can anyone please help me with this?

Google has released a Search by Sight application using the camera to detect and search! Search By Sight With Google Goggles. Unfortunately the fine print reads "Available on phones that run Android 1.6+ (i.e. Donut or Eclair)" so we'll have to wait until the 2010 update that @HTC promised. Still pretty exciting technology here! Maybe by the time we get it, the bugs will be worked out. It's a labs product still after all.

It seems to always freeze when I attempt to take a picture or just becomes unresponsive to commands. More often then not, when I take a picture, it simply gets stuck with the loading symbol (red spinning circle) displayed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there is a google goggles API for Android? If not, is there one coming any time soon? With an API for this thing the possibilities are endless... So far all I've been able to find on this subject is a discussion about not currently having a version for the iPhone due to it's "google labs" status (iPhone version coming once it's more "complete"). I'm hoping an API may be released then. Anybody have any info on this at all?

The application Goggles (process com.google.android.apps.unveil) has stopped unexpectantly. Please try again. and it asks me to Force close. I do. I have even rebooted my phone a couple times and looked for updates. no luck. Should I uninstall and reload? How do I uninstall?

I am sick of this, it seems HTC does not think it's urgent to take care of its customers. We should get 2.0 already!!! HTC, today's smart phones are measured in cool apps. The first sounds comes when the capture button is pressed, and the second sound comes as soon as the picture is taken. I don't hear these noises when taking pictures through the regular camera app. It sounds like it's coming from inside the phone.

These are my own shots taken with a DSLR, they are printed and hanging and I used my Captivate to photograph them off the wall. The first one I instantly re-tagged because I didn't realize the exact name of what I photographed. On this calendar I also can view my calendars of other family members.The problem I am having is that I had to create a google account when I bought the phone. However, I can't seem to get my non-google calendar to show up on the phone.I have tried using my new google account to "friend" my non-google calendar account but it's still not showing up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have searched around for an answer to these two issues, but haven't been able to find anything. After doing the manual upgrade to 2.1 OTA, most everything is fine. However, Google Voice and Google Listen are having issues. Google Voice is giving me a Force Close message every time I receive a text message in Hand cent SMS (to my non-GV number). I don't actually use GV on my voice all that often. Google Listen seems to have lost all trace of any of my pod casts, including new ones that have come in since the update. Every episode on every pod cast has, just under the title: "Error (sd card/com.goggle.android.apps.listen/downloads/e55bee71)" The string of letters and numbers on each one is different. I used Astor File Manager to look in this folder and each of those files is not there. Some of these folders were downloaded a month ago (I'm a little slow in getting to some pod casts) and some I have listened to already pre update but still getting the error now. Some that I have listened to are not giving the error. And any that were downloaded after the update are giving the error.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Droid Eris for my wife. When you start Google Maps on her phone it pins "My Location" as somewhere in Northern India. Additionally, the weather HTC clock/weather widget on the home screen is showing weather for that location. The only way that I can get it to detect the correct location is to turn turn off cellular/wifi location detection and use gps exclusively. I have seen one or two posts on the Verizon forums claiming that the Eris is incapable of determining location using the cellular network and will only work with gps outdoors. I have looked through the forums here but can't seem to find any similar posts. Is anyone else having this problem with the Eris or could it possibly be a problem with this particular phone? I am hoping it is just this phone in which case I can take it back and exchange it for another one. After showing her so many different apps on my Droid that use location detection to give local information, it would be a shame if these will only work outdoors with a clear view of the sky.

It displays REAL TIME wireframe outlines of whatever you point your camera at. You can change colors and full version you can save image to SD card in .png format. Try free version first and play with it.

When I click that button to take a picture it's NEVER lined up like it was before. It's even more obvious if I use the crop feature.I can point at a logo and crop it perfectly and hold the phone absolutely still and press the button. When it shows the processing screen it looks like the camera shot is a couple inches below where it showed on the previous camera screen.

Now, I can't seem to find it anywhere both on the phone or online? The closest I could find is google services which goes through the Dolphin browser - clumsy in my opinion.
