i deleted all my recent calls in the call log. now all my contacts show up.is there a way to get them out of there?so it's not so confusing: When i hit the "phone" option i have all my contacts displayed and i want to get rid of them without deleting them from my contacts.

I have an Eris and my recent call log on my phone displays my outgoing calls as Unknown even if they are saved in my Google contacts. I have the outgoing calls set to go through GV option selected on the phone and I'm not sure what's going on. The contact is displayed for a second and then reverts to Unknown. When I add the unknown number to my existing contacts it works and displays properly, but when I call the same number back from my contact list, it shows up as unknown. My incoming calls and missed calls all show up with the proper contact info, so it seems to just be a problem with my outgoing calls. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Eris has always had issues with knowing who is who in my recent calls, texts and in google voice from time to time. I reformatted all the contacts to +1-555-555-5555 format(something that someone on a google forum suggested) but it still doesn't fix the problem. For instance- A friend named Steve called me. I see incoming call from and it knows who steve is and says "Incoming call from Steve". I called him back, clicking on the exact icon in my missed calls that says his name and it says I called 5551231234 (unknown). This happens in my messages as well, and it is starting to drive me crazy. I will get a message from 5551231234 and it will only list the number and not the name, so I have no idea who is texting me. For some reason my phone is incapable of putting it together to figure out that the number it lists as unknown is already a contact in my contacts. I have to always call people back to figure out who it is or send a text asking who they are.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently switched gmail accounts. I was able to reconfigure the stock mail app fine. The gmail app took some persuasion but eventually cooperated. The only problem is now all my contacts that were saved in my old gmail acct need to be transferred to my new one. Not a big deal (only have 10 because I lost my phone, reason why I have an Eris). However, my brother called. Since I lost him from my contacts, I used the recent calls window to add him. Hit Save. If I go to People, he isnt there. Retried it 3 times. I figure I can just re add him through gmail on my PC and sync it, but that's inconvenient and I wanna know: why isn't this working?

I call be listening to music take an incoming call then after the other party hangs up my phone opens the recent call list. I would like it to just got back to what ever I had open at the time of the call, like the music app.

I personally own the Motorola Droid, But one one my customers has the eris. Here is the question. He claims that whenever he call a contact, the actual contact is no longer available in the contact list but is instead moved over to the recent calls list. I told him that I believe that the recent call list only shows recent call and that the contact should to be found in proper order on the Contact list. Having no actual experience with this phone, I'm just looking for clarification. Does a recently called contact have to be found in the recent call list? If not, what may my customer be confused by? Is there a free application to make this any easier for him?

The Eris on the other hand, I have none, it flips from no bars to X all day long. I can not receive calls nor can I make a call. Has anyone had problems with theirs? Or what might I be able to do ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if anybody else has experienced this issue. It doesn't happen all of the time, and I can't seem to reproduce it. It only started recently - within the last few days.
On some calls, after talking for a minute or so, the person on the other end will just not be able to hear me anymore. The call is still connected, and I can hear them just fine, but I end up having to disconnect and call them back due to the strange muting problem.
Anyone else experience this lately? I haven't installed any new apps recently - minus updates - so I'm not sure it's an app conflict. Just trying to pinpoint the issue and see if I'm the only one.
I noticed that facebook notifications don't work at all anymore. But since the most recent update my phone has rebooted at least 2 times a day. Most recently during a phone call? I got this phone as a refurb from Verizon after the OTA bricked my last one. Does this warrant a replacement or is it a software bug I have to track down? I honestly don't want to go through the exchange process again.

Everytime I make a phone call or receive a phone call, the name and picture of one of my friends shows up as the last call. For instance, my dad could call me and in the phone log, it will show my dads number but my friend's name and picture. I deleted my friend's name and number from my phone and the issue still persists. If anyone has had this issue before or know how to solve this issue, please help me out!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the Samsung Galaxy 3 which came with Jellybean going from a Droid 2 with a older version of the operating system. Is there a way to dial directly from Recent Calls without selecting the actually contact. I can't find a way to do it. I have to click the contact and then click the little green phone icon. On my old Droid the little green phone icon was all the way to the right of the contact and you could just dial the directly. Also, is there a way to make it default to Recent instead of the Keypad when you select the Phone icon. Or is there a Shortcut for Recent Calls that I can get. Again, there was a Shortcut that came with my old Droid that I was able to use.

For me, chances are that I'd call someone that I've recently called or talked to.
I rarely use the dial pad anyway. I don't use the dial pad tab as often as the contacts tab.
Since accepting the Gingerbread update, I have noticed that the Recent Calls feature of the Dialer now only shows timestamps in reference to the current time rather than the time the call occurred. Calls now show timestamps in the format of 1 hour ago or yesterday rather than displaying the actual time of the call.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI deleted my call logs Monday. I needed space on my phone. Didn't think I'd need those logs anymore. But we were expecting mail (snail) from a travel company through which we are taking a trip to Oregon and it hasn't come. We don't know their name (forgot) but I had a call from them and made a call to them a week or four before I cleared the call logs. If there was any way to get them back, I could get their number.
My carrier is Solavei (on the T-Mobile network) and they do not yet have detailed call logs to see in Activity online and it's all online. I can't use them to find the number.
I have been facing this issue after upgrading to 2.1. I open th recent call list and click one of the recent calls but instead of dialing that contact my phone dials a different contact which is different altogather. Initially i thought that I have selected wrong contact but recently I noticed that the contact it actually called was way down in the list that it was not even visible.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI guess I will give the background. I had over 100 pictures stored on my sd card, and i last looked at them yesterday. Today I opened my File manager, and it had expired, so I dl'ed Astro. When I went into Astro and clicked on my DCIM there was nothing inside which I thought was weird. So I went to my Albums and sure enough, It cant find any photos or videos. I took a camera shot, and it saved it to the sd card and I was able to look at it. I unmounted and removed the sd card (also rebooted phone) hoping it might jump start the card or something. When I put the card back in the phone, it had erased the one picture I just took and saved. I was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them? Is a bad sd card most likely the case?

When i try to call a number it doesnt even ring or anything. when someone tries to call me the phone doesnt ring either. What did i do wrong?. Everything else is working fine.
