Any way to stop my phone from opening the recent calls list after I receive a call? I call be listening to music take an incoming call then after the other party hangs up my phone opens the recent call list. I would like it to just got back to what ever I had open at the time of the call, like the music app.
I has a Galaxy Nexus(toro) running CM10 nighties.

When I make a call it is obviously saved in the call log which is fine. What I don't like however is how they then appear at the top of my contact list when I press 'Phone' (until I delete my call history) Is there anyway to disable this or any app to download?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't remember my DroidX always doing this, but recently after I hang-up from a call it shows the "Call Time XX:XX" in the center of the screen and I can't do anything until it goes away, which is generally 5-8 seconds. Hitting Home, Back, etc does nothing and tapping on the screen or the message also does nothing.Is this a setting I can disable? I can look at the recent calls to get the length of call if I need to see it, so I don't need the dramatic pause to give me this info.

He claims that whenever he call a contact, the actual contact is no longer available in the contact list but is instead moved over to the recent calls list. I told him that I believe that the recent call list only shows recent call and that the contact should to be found in proper order on the Contact list. Having no actual experience with this phone, I'm just looking for clarification. Does a recently called contact have to be found in the recent call list? If not, what may my customer be confused by? Is there a free application to make this any easier for him?

I open th recent call list and click one of the recent calls but instead of dialing that contact my phone dials a different contact which is different altogather. Initially i thought that I have selected wrong contact but recently I noticed that the contact it actually called was way down in the list that it was not even visible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the Samsung Galaxy 3 which came with Jellybean going from a Droid 2 with a older version of the operating system. Is there a way to dial directly from Recent Calls without selecting the actually contact. I can't find a way to do it. I have to click the contact and then click the little green phone icon. On my old Droid the little green phone icon was all the way to the right of the contact and you could just dial the directly. Also, is there a way to make it default to Recent instead of the Keypad when you select the Phone icon. Or is there a Shortcut for Recent Calls that I can get. Again, there was a Shortcut that came with my old Droid that I was able to use.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Eris has always had issues with knowing who is who in my recent calls, texts and in google voice from time to time. I reformatted all the contacts to +1-555-555-5555 format(something that someone on a google forum suggested) but it still doesn't fix the problem. For instance- A friend named Steve called me. I see incoming call from and it knows who steve is and says "Incoming call from Steve". I called him back, clicking on the exact icon in my missed calls that says his name and it says I called 5551231234 (unknown). This happens in my messages as well, and it is starting to drive me crazy. I will get a message from 5551231234 and it will only list the number and not the name, so I have no idea who is texting me. For some reason my phone is incapable of putting it together to figure out that the number it lists as unknown is already a contact in my contacts. I have to always call people back to figure out who it is or send a text asking who they are.

For me, chances are that I'd call someone that I've recently called or talked to.
I rarely use the dial pad anyway. I don't use the dial pad tab as often as the contacts tab.
Since accepting the Gingerbread update, I have noticed that the Recent Calls feature of the Dialer now only shows timestamps in reference to the current time rather than the time the call occurred. Calls now show timestamps in the format of 1 hour ago or yesterday rather than displaying the actual time of the call.

I don't need to hear whistles or "you've got mail" coming through my calls.
It's most bothersome for the fact that I have a bluetooth handshake to my home handset and all the phone audio pushes through.
Is there a setting that turns off phone audio when in phone calls and then turns it back on after you hang up?

The only way I know this is having installed a task manager. There would be no other way of knowing this.
I have about 14 apps downloaded form the market. Not too many, but I was susrprised to see applications like shop savvy and My Backup automatically start up when my phone boots up. Whilst in the apps themselves, there seems to be no way of stopping this behaviour. Why would they do this ? Why is there no kill switch fro these apps natively for android ? It seems there is a lot of chatter about whether or not task managers are good for the platform, or whether we should just let android do it's thing on it's own. I'm really in two minds whether to carry on using a TM or not. It's for reasons such as shop savvy opening up on it's own when I don't want it to that I'm tempted to keep in, if only for my own piece of mind, and the ability to kill apps that don't need to be on. This MUST have a direct correlation with battery usage.
Anyway, I have to say that I've had most platforms, iphone, blackberry, symbian, and Android really does seem to me to be the best one yet. I am extremely happy with my Hero.
if I remove all these it clears up to 400mb of ram. what benefit is there to leave all the recent apps there? is th3 phone chewing through more battery to use the 1.2gb of ram vs 800mb?

Most recently during a phone call? I got this phone as a refurb from Verizon after the OTA bricked my last one. Does this warrant a replacement or is it a software bug I have to track down? I've been plugging in my DroidX to my computer to do different things (root, transfer files, etc). Whenever I do, it causes the web browser to automatically open and start playing an annoying "helpful video" from the Verizon site. Does anyone know how to make it stop loading? Obviously I can close it out, but it is really annoying. I have root, so I can access the internal memory and delete the offending file. I just don't know which one to remove.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Eris and my recent call log on my phone displays my outgoing calls as Unknown even if they are saved in my Google contacts. I have the outgoing calls set to go through GV option selected on the phone and I'm not sure what's going on. The contact is displayed for a second and then reverts to Unknown. When I add the unknown number to my existing contacts it works and displays properly, but when I call the same number back from my contact list, it shows up as unknown. My incoming calls and missed calls all show up with the proper contact info, so it seems to just be a problem with my outgoing calls. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn my android app I use AutoCompleteTextView and refresh items list for each 5 seconds. Refreshing is working, when I call notifyDataSetChanged(). But when I type here something and it'll give me the list of matching items and then I close it manually, when another thread is refreshing the list and calling notifyDataSetChanged() dropdown list is showing automatically (even if I closed it before). And it's really annoying, because if list is long it takes whole screen and after closing it'll appear in another 5 secounds. I tried dismissDropDown() just after calling notifyDataSetChanged(), but it doesn't have any effect. It looks like dropdown is showing with a little delay. It's also not good way to fix it, because if user hasn't closed the list it'll close after a refresh. Also tried to take focus away - still no effect.
So I need a method to: update my items list (via notifyDataSetChanged()) without automatically showing dropdown list, but if dropdown was already showed don't close it.
I don't know if this has been posted before and if it has, please direct me to the thread but I have an issue with my HTC Incredible. Everytime I make a phone call or receive a phone call, the name and picture of one of my friends shows up as the last call. For instance, my dad could call me and in the phone log, it will show my dads number but my friend's name and picture. I deleted my friend's name and number from my phone and the issue still persists. If anyone has had this issue before or know how to solve this issue, please help me out!

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I run my app, it works fine but if I switch back to home or another application, I want to go back to my app quickly by using the recent activity list (on my phone this is done by holding down the home button). For whatever reason, I never see my application in this list of apps. All other apps when they are running or have just recently been closed show up ( the menu shows 6 icons for the recent apps). Why doesn't my app show up on this list? Is this something you need to do programmatically?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently switched gmail accounts. I was able to reconfigure the stock mail app fine. The gmail app took some persuasion but eventually cooperated. The only problem is now all my contacts that were saved in my old gmail acct need to be transferred to my new one. Not a big deal (only have 10 because I lost my phone, reason why I have an Eris). However, my brother called. Since I lost him from my contacts, I used the recent calls window to add him. Hit Save. If I go to People, he isnt there. Retried it 3 times. I figure I can just re add him through gmail on my PC and sync it, but that's inconvenient and I wanna know: why isn't this working?
View 2 Replies View RelatedA number of users of my app have reported that on the Nexus One, running Froyo 2.2, the app appears multiple times in the 'Recent Apps' list that is displayed when you long press the home button. Personally, I have not been able to replicate the issue. Have tried killing the app with a task killer then restarting it to see if that would cause the app to appear more than once on the list. Also tried spawning multiple thread from within an activity in the app, but still no go. I have also tested on Droid phones running 2.2 as well as on the 2.2 emulator but to no avail. It is curious that only Nexus One Froyo users experience the issue. The app has one main launcher activity, about 30 different activities and is divided into 4 main tasks to help manage the activity stack. The app also has an IntentService for running network operations in the background. Is there any know scenario that could cause an app to appear multiple times in the 'Recent Apps' list? Is the 'Recent Apps' list populated based on the app package name e.g. com.mycompany.myappname or based on the tasks defined in the application manifest file?

We notice during telephone calls, either dialing outgoing or incoming calls, the display turn off almost immediately when the telephone calls started.
