Can you make "recent calls" tab the default screen rather than the dial pad tab?
For me, chances are that I'd call someone that I've recently called or talked to.
I rarely use the dial pad anyway. I don't use the dial pad tab as often as the contacts tab.

I have a moto x and when I swipe to the right to look at recent calls/contacts in the dialer it saves the screen I was on the next time I open it. Is there a way to make the dial pad (with the numbers) the default no matter what screen I used last?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I tap 'call mobile' there is no attempt to dial and the call ends straight away (the end call button at the bottom greys out as soon as I tap call). This has only just started happening. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what's the solution?

Basically, there are few numbers I dial that use an automated system and I'm required to press certain numbers to continue and I grow tired of selecting the number pad myself.
It's not as important on incoming calls, but would be nice there as well I guess.
Every time I a call is dialing or is hung up, random pictures of the android character pop up, like him playing baseball, eating a hot dog, sitting at a desk, playing guitar in the park... etc. Does anyone know what caused this to start? what program maybe? and a way to turn it off? I think it started right after I rooted my droid, it kind of acts like a screen saver type thing. I've waited a while to see if anything has popped up on the forums, and nothing has, it's annoying lol. oh and My phone will not dial *228, just goes back to home screen
View 11 Replies View RelatedI just got the Samsung Galaxy 3 which came with Jellybean going from a Droid 2 with a older version of the operating system. Is there a way to dial directly from Recent Calls without selecting the actually contact. I can't find a way to do it. I have to click the contact and then click the little green phone icon. On my old Droid the little green phone icon was all the way to the right of the contact and you could just dial the directly. Also, is there a way to make it default to Recent instead of the Keypad when you select the Phone icon. Or is there a Shortcut for Recent Calls that I can get. Again, there was a Shortcut that came with my old Droid that I was able to use.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince accepting the Gingerbread update, I have noticed that the Recent Calls feature of the Dialer now only shows timestamps in reference to the current time rather than the time the call occurred. Calls now show timestamps in the format of 1 hour ago or yesterday rather than displaying the actual time of the call.

I am going crazy here... I've had this thing since it launched and everything is great except I keep hitting buttons with my face during calls! I mute, sometimes end calls, start 3 way calls etc and I have no idea how to prevent it. Is there any way I can make the screen lock during phone calls or change the call screen altogether?

I wonder if there is flashable zip or something, that adds "Clear All" button in Recent Apps multitasking screen, much like in Galaxy S III, that swipes out all apps from Recent Apps and closes them. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using the default SMS program since I'm OK with it and don't really need the fancier customizable stuff of Handcent and such. However one thing that does bother me about the SMS program is that when I hit "Messages" it brings me back to the conversation of the last person I was texting with/I sent text to, not the SMS that just came in.
For ex: I've been texting Person A back and forth. Then I get a text from Person B- I see it in the notification bar preview. So I press Messages, but it doesn't take me to Person B's message- it takes me back to the thread from Person A. I can't even figure out How to get to the Person B message except to go to "Menu" key, then hit All Messages, then it shows all the threads and of course the most recent (person B) is up at top. But wouldn't it make sense that pressing Messages after receiving a message takes you to the most recent incoming message? Am I doing something wrong/have some options checked off wrong? Is there a way around this default behavior?
i deleted all my recent calls in the call log. now all my contacts show up.is there a way to get them out of there?so it's not so confusing: When i hit the "phone" option i have all my contacts displayed and i want to get rid of them without deleting them from my contacts.

Is there an option to remove the recent calls as it mucks up the alphabetical order of the thing and frankly is very confusing.

My Eris has always had issues with knowing who is who in my recent calls, texts and in google voice from time to time. I reformatted all the contacts to +1-555-555-5555 format(something that someone on a google forum suggested) but it still doesn't fix the problem. For instance- A friend named Steve called me. I see incoming call from and it knows who steve is and says "Incoming call from Steve". I called him back, clicking on the exact icon in my missed calls that says his name and it says I called 5551231234 (unknown). This happens in my messages as well, and it is starting to drive me crazy. I will get a message from 5551231234 and it will only list the number and not the name, so I have no idea who is texting me. For some reason my phone is incapable of putting it together to figure out that the number it lists as unknown is already a contact in my contacts. I have to always call people back to figure out who it is or send a text asking who they are.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently switched gmail accounts. I was able to reconfigure the stock mail app fine. The gmail app took some persuasion but eventually cooperated. The only problem is now all my contacts that were saved in my old gmail acct need to be transferred to my new one. Not a big deal (only have 10 because I lost my phone, reason why I have an Eris). However, my brother called. Since I lost him from my contacts, I used the recent calls window to add him. Hit Save. If I go to People, he isnt there. Retried it 3 times. I figure I can just re add him through gmail on my PC and sync it, but that's inconvenient and I wanna know: why isn't this working?

Further, it's mad that when typing some number (part of a full number and NOT the beginning), the contact doesn't show up. It's only searched when you type the beginning of numbers
what apps are you guys using to dial or speed dial. i am having a problem as if i use the log or dialer and when done with the call i have a tendendcy to accidently hit the screen and place a call unknowingly...at least untill my wife calls back about the conversation she overheard
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have like 200 coworker contacts and i'd like to add name prefix so that all of them are in one place not spread aground contacts but after adding prefix search from dial screen will not find them! how come? for example created contact named XX JOHN DO SECOND where xx is prefix , john first name , do middle name , second is last name and from contacts menu all works fine but from dial screen search doesn't find it!

I have been looking through the various bits on the phone and decided to put a password on it. I have done this on all of my previous, simple, phones with no problems, but now that I have done it on the MG all I can get is the phone dial screen. No pptions for any apps, settings, etc. Just the dial screen.
I have tried the factory reset using the power/volume buttons but when I get to the second selection, with the 'distressed android' showing I don't get any options with it, just the android.

Tried to make a call today and it just sits at dialing and where it usually shows 1x icons its not there, just signal bars and gps icon. I thought reset would fix it but no, tried calling my phone goes to voicemail.
So I backed up my data and used reset in the security settings. Successfully made activation call to *228 and thought the problem is fixed, however when I tried placing call again it just sits at dialing screen for few seconds and ends the call.
How do i create a speed dial icon on my home screen that doesn't ask me to decide if i want to text or call? when I make a favorites list, it still give options. I just want one click and call like my original droid.

From fast few days when 3G interenet is ON then I am not able to make calls.When I turned off 3G then it works fine.I have also reinstalled the software but still problem persists. One more thing when 3G is on then first calls I am able to make but subsequent calls not able to make.
