I use slacker radio most of the work day on my phone. I do have an unlimited plan but I've heard that if you go above a certain amount VZW will start to charge you. should I keep track of the 3g and limit slacker usage?

On my contract I think I've got 500mb Internet. Is there a app that will tell me how much mb I have left? I don't mind paying but free will be even better.

I'm looking for something that pairs with the phone and a PC app that will keep track of how many times a play song and sync between the two and such. Sorta like Ipod software is an extension of the Itunes library. I realize that Itunes doesn't sync with the phone like that, nor the phone keeps track of such things.

The plan I intend on signing up for is the Telus Student 40 and that will come with only 100mb of data. Now I don't see myself being too data using heavy so I feel like I will be able to live with it. However I do have some questions regarding my data consumption.
1. Is it possible to completely stop all data usage by somehow disabling the data connection if I find myself reaching my limit?
2. What are ways to track my data usage to make sure I don't use too much data?
3. What are good ways to conserve data usage? I'm getting the feeling that there are some applications that will constantly be sending data back and forth updating themselves, is it possible to have these applications but stop them from constantly updating and only have them update when I want to access the application?.........

View 17 Replies View RelatedI was playing some music today while doing some yardwork and i noticed it was stuttering at the beginning of just about every track it played. I listened to about 12-14 songs and it stuttered in the beginning on about 8 of them, somtimes it would also stutter a few seconds after that but would be fine after that until it went to the next song. Anyone else have this issue? I've got all the apps closed with advanced task manager, so nothing is running and eating up the processor or memory. Any ideas what would cause this or a remedy for it? Any help is appreciated.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI did some testing with the Navigator yesterday and I have to say it's absolutely awesome. I'm not sure if anyone has posted this, couldn't find any mention of it, but I want to share my battery usage experience with it as well as some other cool things I noticed.
Very cool battery saver:
I used it for a 15-minute drive, keeping it only in the Notification Bar. When you are in the Navigation app, you can press the Home softkey to go back to your home screen. This keeps Navigator working in the background, but it is not drawing the maps and using the screen. You can press the Power button to put your phone to sleep, and the voice actually still talks to you and tells you when to turn. And even better, I started this trip with 76% battery and ended with 76% battery.
Now, the not-so-cool.
I used it for a 30-minute drive, keeping the screen on and letting it show me the map the entire way. I started the drive with 54% battery ended with 34% battery. So definitely keep it on the charger if you are using it for a long drive. But another awesome thing I noticed. I made a phone call toward the end of my destination, just to see what would happen. I used the Home key to back out of the Navigator (but keeping it in the background, as I said above), then made my call as normal. The Navigator still gave me directions while I was on the phone. It came through the earpiece now, so the other person doesn't hear it. How freaking cool is that?
My Eris, just updated on Monday for the lock up from sleep Anyway, I am a low user of the phone and keep, wifi, Mobile data off unless I am using it I have noticed the last 2 days the battery life is improved. yesterday, phone on at 6am off at 11pm, 65% left, no data used, few Txt messages and about 45 min of phone calls Today so far, on at 6am, WIFI, Mobile data off, one 6min call and one txt, at 9am, still 100% battery. turned Mobile Data on at 9am now it is 11:50am and battery is still 100% my on time is 5:45, awake time is 8 min (2%) this is typical for me. I don't have email set to push, I refresh when I want it. I also use Advanced Task Manager. So maybe the issue that was fixed was also causing a battery drain and is fixed now?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI manually updated my Eris the other night and I must say I am happy with the update, it has really helped with my battery. What I have done is installed Battery Indicator by Darshan Computing. This puts a battery percentage indicator in the notifications area. I have set the built in timer for an hour and when it goes off I make a note of the battery in form of a percentage. Here is what I have so far.

I am running the 0.3 rom.. and there is no battery usage under about phone.. its there on the droid am i missing something? Also to make it more stange when you get down to 15% it gives my a low battery warning i can either say yes or view battery usage.. but cant seem to find it anywhere in the menus.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it's my phone or what but when I look up the Other Usage on my phone, it shows it "Running" more than 2/3 of the time.And on Network Usage, "Android System" and "Media" use a great deal of the phone as well.I think this might have to do with my "android.process.acore" crashing every once in a while when it's asleep. Based on everyone's feedback I might have to return the Moment for a third time.
