View 4 RepliesI don't know if it's my phone or what but when I look up the Other Usage on my phone, it shows it "Running" more than 2/3 of the time. And on Network Usage, "Android System" and "Media" use a great deal of the phone as well.I think this might have to do with my "android.process.acore" crashing every once in a while when it's asleep. Based on everyone's feedback I might have to return the Moment for a third time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are a bunch of threads out there talking about battery usage and how to figure out what's draining your battery.
Almost all of them say to go get Spare Parts app from the market and check you "partial wake usage".
I did that and 95% of my partial wake usage is from "Android System".
Is that normal? Anyone who is getting good battery life (20+ hours) - what do you see in the partial wake usage?
I just checked my phone:
13h 10m 23s since unplugged
Partial Wakelock:Android System Total time: 13h 1m 44s
Is this normal?
The only widgets I have are:
Stock power control widget
Ringer Toggle Widget
I am running GDE in the background (not my default home screen).
On battery usage partial wake - does anybody know what UID 10016 is? As this is using the most followed by android system followed by dialer. Should dialer be there on partial wake??
Also what version of facebook for sense are people using and is there a way to update the built in apps or do we have to wait for a system update?
so I downloaded Spare Parts and changed the window and transition animations to FAST, and it has been going noticeably quicker. My only question is if changing the speed will affect my battery life?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince 1.5 I've been having partial wake problems. My eris normally will last a few hours in airplane mode or with just wifi on before the battery drops one or two percent. Sometimes, it will drop like 5 percent in an hour with low battery usage occuring, for example, when airplane mode is on. I check spare parts under partial wake usage, and it is usually very high, sometimes 100% after hours. I have to reboot my phone to fix these problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI always hear people saying how amazing this app is and how to diagnose what is eating your battery. however I for the life of me can't figure it out. I bet it is super simple, but I just can't see it. Where do I go to see what programs maybe keeping my phone awake...what usage do I look at, what do I press? Also, what settings should I use for it? I am about to go into Verizon today, because my phones voltage is above 4v (I heard that when it is in the 4 range, you may have a bad battery also...), but I want to see the amazingess of this APP that everyone seems to know but me
View 2 Replies View RelatedI read online you can turn on battery percentage through Spare Parts. BB1 does have Spare Parts installed, but I cannot find the feature. I also found Spare Parts in the Marketplace, but can't download it. Any suggestions? Main feature I want in BB.
View 4 Replies View Relatedanyone having trouble getting the font size to sick in the spare parts menu?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI notice that Spare Parts came with a Task Management option. I was wondering if anyone has seen a conflict between using Spare Parts and AutoKiller which seems to have the same job except with more features?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI tried the Search feature to no avail for this particular question. When I originally downloaded the Spare Parts application for my Motorola Droid, it would show the amount of time each program had my phone in 'wakelock'. Ex: Going into the Partial Wake usage would show times. However, lately I noticed going in there this no longer happens... Anyways, just curious if anyone here has any ideas as to why.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when the setting for Handcent SMS has the Blinking LED to "Fast", "Normal", or "Slow" it'll eat up resources and takes up +80% of the Partial Wake Time Usage according to Spare Parts. I've noticed this with 2.1, 2.2, and 2.2 again after a hard reset. I'm assuming it's an issue with the last few updates of Handcent as I did not have this problem a month ago.
With it set to "Default" blinking it'll consume normal resources like every other app. Thing is with the "Default" blinking, it just stays green like it's fully charged. I'd appreciate if someone else can look into this and see if this same issue is present for you.
On my last full discharge, I looked at the Spare Parts app battery history, and took a look at partial wake usage since I've read thats where you can see what apps are really draining your battery. What i saw that above everything was UID 10074, then android system, and then usual stuff. What is UID 10074? I google and searched, but the one time it was mentioned someone said they didn't know. It said something like over 3hours usage for partial wake for UID 10074. My battery life isn't terrible, but this thing seems like its hogging resources?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been reading the forums since i got my phone, and it has been invaluable. Thanks for all the knowledgeable contributors. One thing that was recommended by several people was to download "spare parts", so I did. That being said, I have no idea what the results mean! For example, if I look under battery history, and other usage, it reads "running (100%) and screen time (100%) I have no idea what that means!
Also people state you can tell which applications are sucking the life of your battery, and I have no idea how to do that.
I recently flashed the new Damage Control (2.08) ROM on my Sprint Hero, and i realized the Spare parts app is missing. Is it compatible with Damage Control, and if so how can i download it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been noticing that the Calendar is always at the top of the partial wake usage when I check it in spare parts. As of right now my phone has been unplugged for 3 hours and the calendar has held a 30 minute partial wake lock. The second on the list is the Android system which has only held a 4 minute partial wake lock. Is this normal for the calendar to hold a partial wake lock like this? I heard about the Flickr bug but I do not sync my account with Flickr and never have. I'm not even syncing my calendar with Google currently.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a desire and handcent has been pretty good to me so far. the latest update has things a bit more stable (or so it seems at least) when sending group texts, however,i woke up to find my phone had 3 new text messages..but the phone battery went down from 100% to 83%! i know it's shocking but i got up at 2pm haha today and i got the texts at intervals of 8am and 11am. anyways i'm pretty sure it wasn't any other app as i usually lose about 8-13% at most. i checked the *#*#4636#*#* and in 'partial wake up' battery usage, it said handcent had been on for 4 hours! i know the phone can still be awake even if the screen is off but my settings have always been to not turn on screen when receiving a new message. i'm guessing this problem is because of the message popup staying active? i'll see how this fairs when i wake up tomo morning and if i get any texts..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm getting wake times near 100% with this ROM and I don't have the first clue why. I wiped and installed properly, and I have autokill set to optimal. Not runinng setCPU or anything, and I've never had this problem before so I don't think its an app.
If anyone could help, I would REALLY appreciate it. I tried dc2.05, but now I have the no audio issue on phone calls from this ROM, so I had to switch back for the fix -.- Really frustrated and really need a working ROM + phone =
AlwaysFlash seems to be the problem, uninstalled and wake time seems to be staying low under all circumstances.
The accelerometer turns off when the screen is off. I'm guessing this is a bug but I haven't seen it logged. Am I missing something?
Perhaps the power management features need some improvement - the ability to specify what components are needed during a partial_wake_lock so that power can be conserved as efficiently as possible.
BTW, there is a bug logged noting that onSensorChanged() continues to be called for the orientation sensor (during sleep) but the values are not being updated.
I have a vanilla Hero. Since I bought it (around 2 months ago), the awake time has NEVER been under 100%. I installed the Modaco 2.9 ROM yesterday (which I highly recommend; my Hero is now much faster) and it's STILL 100%.
Spare parts tell me that the culprit appears to be 'Android system'.
I'd like to reduce my wake time if it's at all possible.
I'm aware of the messaging app/dialer issue; that's not what this is, since I'm using CHOMP sms and it's still an issue.
Installed the new updated 1.3 version of Facebook for Android this morning. when i checked my phone just now i noticed battery is lower than it should be. a look at the Battery Graph (separate app) shows that it's draining constantly... so i checked the PARTIAL WAKE USE via the Spare Parts app. and voila: the new facebook up stays awake constantly. that's despite having any connectivity turned off (via the network connection switch; i only turn on when i need it to save battery).
View 49 Replies View RelatedAm thinking of getting a Galaxy but the one thing that seems to annoy people more than others is the lock button. I have heard that you can download an App called "Spare Parts" which you can config to use the hang up button has the lock button. Has anyone tried this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAny Android Agenda Widget users here? Downloaded the newest update today (there were a few updates in succession, I think) and it's causing my Droid X to not sleep and it's showing up as Partial Wake Lock the entire time my phone is on. I emailed the developer, but if others are seeing this, please do so as well. It's probably killing many batteries right now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI remember hearing that charging slightly, but not letting it charge all the way is dangerous to the battery. It this true, or is can I let my battery charge a little and then unplug it without any problems?
View 12 Replies View RelatedJust saw this on Gizmodo, it's a solBAT charger for any USB device... it's a 1500 mA battery that pumps 5V through a USB hookup. It's not exactly a perfect solution to anything (especially since it seems like it would be most useful in a car, which is when you'd be able to plug into the cigarette lighter anyway), but still: you can essentially boost your battery using only the sun, and it's only $30... pretty cool!
Thought I'd post it here for anybody with environmentalist inclinations who's having battery problems... or if you're like me, and you're planning some extended hiking/camping trips for the summer, and were trying to figure out how you were going to keep your phone alive for more than a couple of days
anyone else have this battery charger? and is it taking 8 hours to fully charge the battery? this is crazy. this isnt the exact one i bought, but its the same kind. supposedly mine didnt come from hong kong. if anyone knows of a good battery charger, let me know. View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since the latest OTA update, the 3G on my Eris just stops working when I wake it up. The 3G icon at the top tool bar disappears even though the Mobile Widget I have on one of my screens says that it's on. So what I have to do is toggle the Mobile Widget to turn 3G off then on again. But oh wait, sometimes the Mobile Widget doesn't even respond so I have to go to settings and turn off then on the 3G. This is really annoying and this happens with my aunt's Droid Eris too. Any ideas on what my aunt and I should do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 2.1 leaked version 3 on my Eris and have question regarding screen wake-up.I am usually using speaker phone while I am on conversation. And after 5-10 minutes, the screen goes to black.Sometimes, I want to turn off speaker phone or use phone to look up some numbers. However, pressing call button or track ball won't wake up the screen. If I press end call button, it just hung up.It seems that there is no way to wake up the screen except hanging up and call again.Anyone has same problem?
